Thanks, Jeff. Marcus is only 26, but he sure has the voice of an older blues veteran. Loved that bass player (Stephen Campbell) percolating all the way through; he was really driving the song.
What a great band..... i wish Marcus would have persevered with the whole group. The keyboard is really the energy in this song. i Love that Marcus wants to play a great song- not shred - lets the other members have the stage.
I've arrived late to the Marcus King party, having just discovered him a couple weeks ago. Jeez, Louise, he's the real deal. Hopefully he'll stick around for a LONG time. I'm a bass player too, so I'm glad you noticed the amazingly groovy and rock-solid bass player. OMG, that bass tone. It's always fun when other people appreciate the music that I appreciate.
On that note, appreciate taking the time to do a little analysis on the play style and other instruments! Yeah the bass player always gets overlooked in this style of music don't they? He never misses a note and lays a super solid foundation down for Marcus to play against! I also love how the drummer "drags" just a tiny fraction of a beat and leaves you anticipation his next accent. It's just a feel you have or you don't! And when he hits that accent, it's like a guitar/keys/whatever instrument hitting that resolve kinda feel and feels satisfying. I can't wait for Marcus to blow up, and I know that "roots" style music is gonna blow up soon -- I hope this band does! Thanks
Wauw!!! THAT was rrreally gooood, maan!!🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥😃 I mean - everything about it!!!👍🏼👍🏼🤩😃😅🔥 What a bunch of nerve and talent! And they are all playing sooo well together - solid yet creative in some places (love the sax, bass and organ/keys btw. and the drummer!) and very energetic breathing pulse, life and drive!🔥😍 Oh yeah, totally agree with you re. the horn section+the bassist - so glad you pointed them out as well - totally digging their part, too👍🏼🔥🔥🔥. (Always loved the places where Melody Gardot and Mike Andersen Band on his earliest albums used eg. a sax/horn section like this😉🥰 - btw. Mike Andersen opened 3 times for B.B. King😉👍🏼. One of my personal ❤️-blues/soul bands DK and woooonderful people🫶🏼❤️🥰). Thank you for your guitar analysis🤗 - you are a wayyy better expert than me, and I really appreciate your explanations on the technical stuff, so I know what’s creating the sounds and various details I so enjoy listening to🥰🤗💚. Sometimes I catch it while watching and listening - other times just enjoying the playing and emotions in the moment🎸😄☺️. Re. “hit the note->then vibrato”👍🏼 - like with vocals, yeah😉😄😃. Speaking of - what a voice this talented and soulful young man has! Both vocally And on the guitar - phew🤯💥🌪🔥💜😃😅(and now I’m laughing a bit because geeeeeez, a power house!🤯😄😉). THIS was some really goood kick-… blues rock! Thank you so much for giving it a chance on this channel, a listen and a great reaction, Jeff, really appreciate that😃💙🎶🤗.
@@StrateleStudios It’s totally okay, Jeff💚 - you know; we are human beings and not robots🙏🏼, and this (unintentionally) happens to me, too😉. Thank you for your sweet sweet reply - I really appreciate it, thank you🫶🏼❤️🥰💚🤗. About this song there were some crazy and beautiful vibes, which reminded me of some nuggets from here and there🌈🤯😄, and I think one of them (as I mentioned and besides Mike A. and Joe Bonamassa) was from Melody Gardot. There is a special live-version (from The Olympia Paris) of “Same To You” with her+guitar and her incredible band - I think you might find that interesting (not least when the horn section espec. Irwin Hall+drummer just went off🔥🤯🤩😄) 😉👌🏼🔥 - very different intro from the studio recorded version of the “Currency of Man”-album, but I love it: ruclips.net/video/dLaPpvWQgZw/видео.html Have a beautiful weekend, my friend😘❤️💚☀️🤗.
Drummer is pocket personified
