Thank you for sharing your thoughts and help on poetry Adam. I’ve gone and purchased ‘Poems that make men cry.’ as I’m really wanting to pull back the lid on differing styles to better my own writing and reflection. I will also pop on over to your community site to hopefully meet fellow poets and maybe share some of my own. Thanks again. Very much appreciated. 🙂

How you doing mate? Great to see you're still making videos encouraging people into poetry, it was after all, one of your videos some years ago, that kick-started my writing adventure. All the best mate ❤

    Nice video!
I'm a bit late to the party but I thought those were good advice. I think it's a good idea to read a poem 3 times, even I, who appreciate and write poetry, I find myself often reading poems too quickly most of the time, I will definitively try to do that more.
I also agree that poetry is the most intimate form of art, each form of art has something special to it, but I don't think that any of them reach the level of intimacy that poetry does.
I think it's good to try to make people appreciate poetry more, I also want to achieve that with my channel, but I have a lot more work to do.
    I subscribed.

Thanks Adam, I enjoyed this video with your suggestions for getting the most out of poetry. I have followed many of your older editions and find they too are very interesting. Thanks a lot and please keep going.

Neat video Adam. I’m a guy who only recently started writing poetry a couple months ago. This is my latest one called Letters of Love about a young woman who loses her husband during the Vietnam War. What do you think?
He had to leave me to go fight in this cruel war.
He gave me a kiss and his hat to remember him by.
He wrote to me every week with words of hope and promises.
He sent letters of love talking about our future family together and house.
He talked about how he misses my smile and laugh.
He then stopped writing and came home in a wooden box.
He and I won’t have our future family together and house.
He has stopped sending me letters of love.

I’m so sorry for your loss. I hope you found the process of writing this therapeutic? I’m a staunch advocate for using poetry as a means of release and therapy! Blessings and keep at it! 🙏🖤

Ooops, I just re-read your comment. It was not long after 6am and I am only one coffee in haha! Still, the sentiment remains: keep it up!
I’m actually an avid reader of war history, particularly ww1 & 2. There’s some really Great War poetry out there, have you read any of the ww1 poetry collections? You might enjoy them
