Dude had the same problem with my te 300. I’ve now got a exed push/push start stop switch. Found out it was f**ked at 1:45 am when it started it’s self in my garage

apparently on the launch of the exc in Australia they had a bike start itself while in gear and it lurched forward on its own and knocked about 5/6 bikes down 😂
My US bike (Same Model) came with a completely different button set. No problems so far. Love this bike so much! The new factory fork is amazing!
I am amazed that you havent gotten any message from where you bought it or KTM them selfs. As a husqvarna mechanic we sent out recalls last year about that switch
Could be a case of take your money and couldn't care less,like more and more dealer's these days😢

At least with a kickstart you don’t have to worry about malfunctions with the electric start. Though I’ve never even seen a starter with the kill switch built in with it, I’ve only ever had two separate buttons.
For a very good reason apparently. Lol
smash the switch and separate the kill ground from the hot ignition then to kill touch the wire to the ground to start touch the hot ignition to the other hot to start good luck
There was a recal here in germany about 5 or 6 months ago for my fe 350. Same button. Close your garage at night!😂

changed out the stupid start/kill combo switch on my 2024 300xc, bought the two button kit from 1st Track Moto, 40 bucks CDN and no issues!!

Answered on your Facebook post just get the old style switch and your golden, me and my te150 did our first race 1.5hrs and accomplished my goals of doing all 5 laps and not being last or dnf 🙃
do they still deliver this switch in the US, in Europe it has been replaced since Novermber 2023, because of the issues with humidity
You were lucky that the starter bendix didn’t break up and lock up the engine seen a few cases of this due to that switch,it didn’t seem to spoil your day you are very determined 👍👍

Hey mate, I have a full titanium exhaust system that’s rusty and has burnt on plastic. What would you recommend to clean it?

Damn!! That would be infuriating!! My 2010 used to snap the speedometer cable. I replaced it 3x. Problem was, when the cable broke, inside the insulation, something would short and blow the main fuse. So, suddenly no starter and I'd have to kick it. 1st time it happpend, this guy I call "The Charlie Brown Mechanic" said my starter relay was toast. So I spent like $60 on a new relay and still didn't start. Got a better look at the $.30 fuse and realized I was an idiot. Haha. I finally just cut that cable, taped it off and called it good. No fuse has blown since, and I never have any idea how fast I'm going. Haha. I have a separate hour counter installed, so it doesn't really matter. Lol. Stupid KTM. HAHA!

You should ride at venango park atv trails by Marquette Kansas I know it may be called atv trails but I have seen a small video of some people riding dirtbikes there
ANY on / off switch assembly from a decent company, get that instead. Or if you have fully dried it out, wrapt it in cling film before you ride. There's also dielectric grease products.

The switch on my 23 xc lasted 100 hours. Not sure why they decided to change the standard buttons they have used for the last 15 years.
Mine came with the rubber switch on

Nice! I just picked up the Alpine stars Bionic tech v3 jacket. Super low profile and comfortable! I always held off because most are big and bulky and look restricting but this fits and moves like a glove and light! And main thing I wanted was rib protection and this has it!
I have had a few issues with my 2024 300exc not stopping when I turned off the switch. I live in Thailand and haven’t looked into a solution yet. I’ll be looking forward to hearing how you fix yours.

You could not give me or pay me to take a new 2-stroke motorcycle when I used to love two strokes in the 90s at least we could cut the cylinders and reborn to the next size without having to have it chromoly so it was a difference of a 48 dollars to cut it to the next size 4or500 to have it chromoly and as for your riding without goggles you cannot do that in the United States

It’s weird how the Ktm group put the most money into development yet they have had hassle with the starters forever
and this is exactly why enduro bikes should have a kickstart as a backup, fuck knows why they got rid of them.
It is a weird one. They've done it for weight saving but I would way prefer knowing a backup start was available

Beta- totally reliable, no recalls. This is what you get when you buy a mass produced, stamped out product that has lost focus on quality and is constantly trying new electronics. I’ll never own a KTM
I agree and also disagree. The bike itself and the technology gone into it is incredible. The switch is the only fault but then again, companies trying new things and taking risks is good for the sport because it will advance it so much
ktm starters are usally so good and now they dropped the ball 😭
I think they’re trying new things which I respect. Trial and error.

A friend had a few of them before and the throttle cable kept snapping. Maybe it was just his riding though 🤣

Didn't a Chinese Company buy KTM and move manufacturing to China?
No KTM gave some engine patents to a Chinese company for a different brand and models of bikes, they have said however after the 2024 model year they will be moving production of a lot of their models to Chinese based factories that they own.
@@jedski0717Actually all offroad models will remain to be built in house in austria for the foreseeable future, the duke 125-390 & the rc 125-390 will be built and produced in china

The kill switch had recall because there was complaints that people’s bikes were starting them selves in the middle of the night bikes were brought in and assessed to find the switch is faulty and arcing across causing them to start so a recall was issued to change switch out for the original, also I understand people have fitted there own switches to there bikes but if a genuine ktm switch is not fitted it will void warranty if u haven’t had the bike longer than a month 👍 good luck hope u get it sorted if u need any help drop me a message I work for ktm 👍
Yeah man I’ve fitted the old school start / stop buttons to my bike. These have never faulted me so I’m going back to basics. I don’t care about the warranty, just won’t the bike not to start itself 🤣
