Back in the early 90’s my buddies and I used to scuba dive the Northern side of St. Lucie Inlet, Fla. Beautiful reef running off the shore and we would watch sometimes 15-20ft Hammerheads just patrolling the reef ledge drop off. Back in that day the warm water of St. Lucie Inlet was known as the largest breeding point of Hammerheads.

My daughters both watched and loved Deadly Mission Shark, and were inspired to get snorkelling. The elder of them was even (just) old enough to go scuba diving with me while on holiday (and by that I mean, diving with a qualified instructer while I tagged along).

The head of a Hammerhead is one of the planets most amazing creations.

I thought those can get up to 20 feet. And not Great Whites but just ordinary Hammerheads.
