    Hi Victoria! I want to say how helpful your videos are. You've helped me study with my online course to pass my CPC. The one area I still struggle with is E/M, which seems straight forward but I always seem to code a level higher or lower during practice cases. With the new E/M updates, does the checklist you use in the video still hold up if I'm doing cases in 2024?

    Hi Victoria! This case study breakdown was amazing! Not only do you give us the resources to follow along with you, but you model the critical thinking process you go through to get to the answer - this is the most important part of identifying the correct code - the critical thinking that cannot be duplicated by a machine or a look-up system - thank you for showing this to the coding community - your contributions are very valuable and relevant!

    Thank you for this video. Currently coding ED. Question though, if for an example a pt was seen in the ED for shoulder pain but rx given, but injection of 15mg toradol was administered. How will the toradol injection affect the leveling of e/m? TIA ❤

    • @ContempoCoding
      @ContempoCoding  3 года назад +3

      Oh man, there is so much going on with the CDEI right now and it is toooo much drama for me. 🙈
      I've never done inpatient coding, and I'm trying to not get distracted by the shiny new certification, which is really for advanced inpatient coding. So maybe eventually, but right now it's not something I can focus on because it's not in my scope of current or immediate need.

    While I absolutely love your videos and have my AAPC CPC Exam scheduled for November 6, it is a little difficult to see the page your filling out because you keep shuffling both pages and moving them in front of each other as you read one and write on the other! But, still you're awesome and helping me out soooo much! Thank you, Victoria!

      Hmm... I see what you mean. I may have to brainstorm that a bit. I've done some before where I split the screen, so maybe if I can split half the screen with the note and half the screen the pdf and I THiNK there's a way I can draw on the pdf version...

    Are these score cards something I would need to worry about having while studying for my CCS exam? Also would e/m coding be on my CCS exam?

    • @ContempoCoding
      @ContempoCoding  3 года назад +2

      I've never taken the CCS exam so I'm not certain what's on it, but I don't believe they are on the list of permitted materials on the AHIMA website.

    Thank you so much for this & for us to be able to print and go along with you while you were doing report. I took a condensed course in medical billing & coding at my local community college and it went so fast there was hardly time to absorb one chapter before going on to the next. I am now going through my book on my own because I feel far from comfortable taking cpc exam. I have spent so much time trying to understand E/M and Im so confused still. I loved this video and learned several things that I think will stick and hope you do more! When doing office e/m do you still use the worksheet to help you determine level?

    Hi Victoria do you know when is the last day we allowed to use the 2021 books in the CPC exam.and could you please consider going through the accident transport section in external cause index the indenting terms is sooo confusing, I am struggling find the correct code for them.

    • @ContempoCoding
      @ContempoCoding  3 года назад +3

      You can still use them in 2022, you'll just be at a bit of a disadvantage if they happen to ask any questions pertaining to the codes that have changed from 2021 to 2022.

    Hello Victoria! I really appreciate your videos. I am scheduled to take the cpc exam on 2/19/22 so I am studying...a lot. My main hang up is E/M....(and icd 10 cm external cause codes, lol). My concern is how in the world will I be able to find the codes WITHOUT my work sheets! I find the tables in the cpt..SO CONFUSING.
