The band was formed in 1987 they are largely attributed with popularizing sleaze rock in Scandinavia and Sweden, inspiring a scene that continues to grow today. They are a big influence on the current upsurge in sleaze rock in the UK unsigned scene so yeah I would say they are original, maybe check some facts before you make an assumption like that!

I just found out about Backyard Babies also, man, THIS is just PURE AWESOME REAL hard rock. I only wish I found them years ago. LOL, makes me think, compare a "so-called rock band" like Nickelback to Backyard Babies. Sweden produces such great musicians. (Im american BTW)

My immediate impression as well
This is so close to the L.A. sound so one could think they grew up there. I will not say they copy but secretly i do, they´re as a band heavily influenced but it´s also rude to take anything from them and even mention it. Conclusion: I still think they´re rather awesome.
Found this band because someone in my little ass east texas town is selling the guitarists guitar from 03. Shit is so cool.

I think it has to do with publicity.. I get the impression that Swedes are pretty bad at marketing their bands abroad, I'm not sure why. I agree though, I think that they could hit it pretty big outside of Sweden.
