I was actually stationed at Ft. Bliss while in the the Army in the early eighties. A buddy and I ran what was called the Transmountain Run. Up one side and down the other.
Love EP! We had a beautiful little place with backyard views of Franklin mountains...great food, nice people, awesome weather. Will always hold a place in my heart!💖
6:28 As someone who goes over transmountain all the time, I always say that runaway truck ramp is the most dangerous one I've ever seen. Every time I see it, I almost think it would be better to just take your odds going left than taking a dive down that runaway.
Nice to know alternative routes, you do see new ways to drive your vehicle, it's not the safest way... how do you like the mills you are getting..... I think you are enjoy this a lot better than Warner Enterprises.... Safe Travels and stay safe...🙏🙏🙏🙏👍👏👏👏👏👏
YES! We are VERY happy with our decision!! Kevin is much happier and making much better miles and money!! And....we got this nice long load pretty quickly. So we hope it will continue like that!!! Thanks for continuing to watch and comment on our videos!!
Yes! Good to keep the list!!! We are also trying to get some of them done while still working. And trucking lends itself well to seeing certain places, as long as your company can get you there. Are you a driver? What are some of the things on your list? Curious....
Thanks for the scenic ride. Great views. Ft. Bliss second largest U.S. Army installation at 1,700 square miles or 1.12 million acres. Bet it was a scorcher temperature wise. Be safe. Hopefully you'll show some of New Mexico to include Las Cruces.
Wow! Did not know that about Ft. Bliss. But yes, sure did seem to be very large, as it took a long time to drive through. Hope you enjoyed the following video. Didn't highlight Las Cruces, but you did see some of it....especially Ronny the Roadrunner!! LOL!!!
There another bypass/ shortcut north of EP . Go north out of the City , the highway next to the Border Patrol Museum go to Newman, NM (Texas/NM border) go left to Chapparal take 404 to Anthony, NM that's where you will get back on I-10 then go westbound again.
@@TheJoyofTrucking Yes I used to go out of town a lot to work gun shows. My store was in the Northeast. So we used Anthony Gap to go west/Las Cruces direction. It's useful but it was undivided and just a couple of lanes so potentially not as safe as other routes.
@@jdraven0890 Thanks! Wonder if they’ve made changes since you were last there. Worth investigating. We always love a beautiful new ride. Thanks for watching and thanks for your comments!!!
You could have also took loop375 south, also bypasses downtown and a shorter drive in my opinion. Very little traffic, not quite the scenery though. Also interesting drive though because the drive is the border between El Paso TX and Ciudad Juarez Mexico. So you literally get to see a whole different country lol. Just food for thought for your next trip. Let me know if you ever take that drive and what you think of it.
We loop 375 to Transmountain. Up the steep incline, lower Geer and lots of gas. The very next exit was Kenworthy,Martin Luther Blvd. That takes you to New Mexico I think 3 miles. 404 has a round about there to cut thru the mountain 10 miles like the 10 miles on Transmountain but 404 is almost flat. Very very pretty. Need to watch for idiots from west to east thinking they can pass on a mini blind hill in one spot.Comes out at 1-10 Anthony almost at Las Cruces. When roads are bad and closed I 10,TransMountain. 404 is open. We call it Anthony Gap. You can by pass a ton of traffic and back up. If you See a Chic-fa-la and a walmart you on the right path. That Wendy's is great. Dollar Tree strip mall stuff but all new. I live on corner. Good luck, safe travels.
Go go go. Enjoy !! I hear there is a new northeast /Midwest type of routing available to offer drivers and getting home on weekends.....or maybe not every weekend.....idk. And it's reefer work.
Hmmmmm...Don't know. I think they have a lot of different accounts and opportunities. Home every weekend will definitely appeal to drivers. Thanks for putting the info in the comments! And thanks for watching!!
Back in the day we called Trans Mountain “Champagne Road”. When you go from west to east at night on Trans Mountain it loos like a glass of champagne, the lights being the bubbles. Beautiful drive at night.
Sure is nice going up hill with a light load 😁💪🏻 I’ve been working for Schneider for 2.5 years now. I am on the 3M dedicated account with 16K pounds. El Paso to Ft Worth loaded, back with an empty all drop and hook. I make about 47 cpm including bonus points for fuel compliance/work days/mpg. I’m an El Paso Native, 30 years old, I see my family either every 2 days, or once a week depending on circumstances. Mileage before a restart is about 3,600 (3 round trips). Supposedly Schneider picked up this account from MVT last year because of inconsistency issues and we’ve got 4 more years with this contract. There are 16 of us for this account. Just an honest breakdown in case anyone wants more info. I really like it
That sounds like it works very well for you!! Glad you found a good fit!! And thanks for posting the details here. There is so much variety in trucking it's great for viewers to see what's out there. And, yes, maybe someone sees it who it could help! Thanks for your comment and see you out there!!!
Awwww! Thank you! That is very kind of you!! Yes...we enjoyed our ride around the area. And we actually worked a Christmas Show downtown a few years ago. Nice place! Some beautiful buildings. Great people! Awesome food!!
Lol! How did your comment pass by the RUclips bad language detective? 🤣😂😆 Either way…we agree…trucks can be annoying…even for truckers! If everyone would just stop buying stuff…😁🤣😂😆🥴

It's a toll route, though! DOn't know if the uploader is into taking tollways or not!

I don't know if anyone think similar as me but those mountains would look very scary at night.
Might want to go a bit slower. But with your headlights on it’s fine…and the sparkling lights of the city below would look great.
The scenery is 100 times more beautiful at night though.
It’s actually beautiful the whole city is lit up and it’s really something special at sunrise too
