As a jazz dancer, I am shocked to see how many jazz moves they managed to squeeze in here ! It’s extraordinary!
Excellent. Her rhythm and swing were phenomenal. Giovanni’s creativity in the choreography to this dance is impeccable and he picked the right dance for her. This really gave me fever. It was so precise and artistic that I was in complete awe. The musicality was brilliant in helping her moves too. However, not every dance is perfect. She did stumble on the transition into the splits and the dismounting of Giovanni on the upside down lift. There was also one move unsynchronised when it was supposed to be. These are tiny details, though - I still believe this dance was a phenomena. 9.
Jazz is all about Bob Fosse moves and, for me, she NAILED THIS DANCE!! It was really SUPERB and magnificent!! Great musicality, fabulous choreography, fantastic synchronization, it had plenty of content, plenty different intricate steps and nuances and she coped AMAZIGLY WELL. IT WAS A TOP CLASS JAZZ routine!! The choreography, the song, her technique, her lines, her acting - it all came together and created a MAGNIFICENT number !! A 10!!!

I haven’t even been the biggest fan of Faye, but my favourite dance of the series and I doubt anything will top this. That Fosse technique. All of the intricacies and subtleties. This is why there should be couples choice on strictly. I can’t explain how much I loved this. Perfection.
CAN WE JUST!!!!!!!!!!!!! This for me was a straight up 10!!!! Lovvveeed it! Faye was whipping that pony tail like no tomorrow.. the moves were sooo slick.. It reminded me of Chicago... it was just EVERYTHING!!

An obvious 10. Captivating, sensual with a splash of drama. Expression used incredibly with gorgeous technique and some excellent choreography by Giovanni
Oh, I love watching SYTYCD Jazz routine, and this one does NOT disappoint. Faye is clearly the other ringer of the competition, and this style fits her like a glove. So slick, chic and sophisticated. It’s like a Halloween version of the musical Cats. Love the Fosse stylization. It’s worthy of a final showdance at an SYTYCD level. I don’t know how to score a Jazz routine but I like it so much I am going to give it a 9.5!
SCD Observer it was wonderful! This is how to do Halloween. Feel sorry for the couples with bad music choices and dodgy costumes!
@@alishaw3627 Can't agree more. But more so, I think theme week is a double-edged sword. You obviously want to embrace the strong stylisation, but if you fail on the techniques, it's very jarring and obvious, especially now we are entering into the second half of the competition, where the judges are going to get pickier and pickier by the week on techniques...
Hi I enjoy reading your comments on every video and was just wondering if you are a dancer yourself and if so what type of dance do you do?
@@PickeledOnion1 I did folk dancing as a child for several years and nothing else. I am trained in classical music (piano) but I won't consider in any way shape or form as a dancer. I just love everything SCD since its inception in 2004. The techniques are all 'acquired' from watching Len's masterclass, pros' choreography critiques and them commentating on celebs' progress in training during the ITT segments on weeknights. I never missed an episode of ITT and after close to a decade and a half of faithfully watching ITT and the SCD main show listening the pros comments on the routines, you tend to pick up things along the way...

Their 39 put them equal top of the leaderboard with Ashley & Pasha (who also received 9 from Craig, 10s from the other judges.)

WOW wow wow brilliant deserved the high scores I loved it
Right up to the falling extension at the end, this was as perfect a routine as is imaginable. Stacey Dooley was a good dancer but both Faye and Ashley were great dancers. The lines they created were brilliant as was their placement and timing and this routine by Faye was just outstanding. Anybody who did not know the couple would be hard pushed to distinguish the pro' from the celeb' and while Faye had done a little dance during her pop career, I'm pretty sure it didn't prepare her for this. Giovanni really is a great teacher as well as choreographer. Well done to them both. Sadly in SCD the ebst dancers do not always progress or win and this routine is evidence of that.

Giovanni is on course to be another Kevin I think. He’s had a good run of partners over his last 4 appearances and has reached the final 3 times. (With Debbie McGee, Georgia May Foote and Faye Tozer) here’s hoping he’ll make it again this year with Michelle Visage!

Now THAT is a couple's choice. No props, no CFI, no faff. Just dance steps which fit brilliantly with the music. The audience reaction says it all.

One of the best dances I have ever seen on strictly from the arms to the footwork to the lifts to the spins to the tricks to the emotion to the grace. Loved the wee steps on the floor and she has to make it to the final, definatly in my top 10 favourite ever dances *10/10* wish I had a 11
Absolutely BRILLIANT! I wasn't expecting to find such good jazz choreography! So many steps, coupled with the chilling chemistry and nightmarish feel created a WONDERFUL routine. It was bone-chilling, while keeping that Jazzy flair about it. I am SPEECHLESS. This was absolutely on par with her fabulous quickstep, or maybe even higher! An absolute 10!!!!!

This was pretty damn good. I wasn’t ready for any of that. Love the synchronization and the execution. This dance finally made me want Faye to stay in the competition.. Giovanni use this week as a push to deliver outstanding choreography like u did last season.. loved it.. 10

This was amazing to watch and I couldn't agree with you more this definitely deserved to be 40 but leave it Craig to always give his 9 paddle when he even enjoyed it. Remember Rachel Stevens and Vincent Simones Rumba that deserved a 40 but Craig gave them a 9 when the others gave it a 10 does he have a 10 paddle underneath that desk? This was the dance of the night for me. 😎
Just watched the results show. Apparently it was because her glasses were lose at one point and in theatre you have to be confident with props. But I totally agree it deserved 40

Deirdre Phelann The glasses adjustment at 1:20 is what Craig was referring to. They slipped slightly so Faye raised her hand. Bit petty of Craig to mark her down for that but typically he doesn’t start giving 10s until Blackpool so not really a surprise.

I know I'm super late but I believe this dance was inspired by Bob Fosse - check out his dance 'The Rich Man's Frug' and you'll see what I mean

Kirsty Rosie ikr there’s so many potential champions in the lineup aswell I mean I can definitely think of four couples that could win it this year so it’s going to be a tough competition in the next few weeks

One tiny positive from not having a large studio audience is that dances aren’t interrupted by all the annoying whooping and hollering.

I do agree with Craig, she shouldn't have readjusted her glasses as it takes off focus from the dance. They're also out of sync at 0:58 with putting on the glasses.

Oh my goodness a Jazz Routine with noticeable Jazz Steps in it!!! In America, our couples for some reason have a hard time with putting noticeable steps in it, but with Faye and Giovanni’s Routine it had plenty of content and she mastered it perfectly! I’m really proud of her!! ⭐️
