More Info on how to install an R4 style automotive AC Delco GM Chevy Chevrolet HVAC AC A/C air conditioning compressor, including the washers and inserts. I am no expert. This is just what i learned from a couple of weeks of googling and whatnot. And I found so little info on RUclips or online. That is why I made this video. Hopefully it will help someone. Post questions below. But like I said, I'm no expert. I just did this one huge project alone... lol

Well you obviously have a leak to investigate

Into the low side from a pressurized can of oil,or simply put into a vacuum and then use the gauge hose and in it goes.

That’s why mine is leaking. I didn’t use the insert in the line. Just ordered the kit when it gets here I’ll remove line install small insert put new sealing washers and should fix my problem. Thanks for the videos you’re why I found my problem 👍🏻

Why does just one side get the insert .... and not both sides? What is the purpose of the insert ?

I don't know why they can't just built it plain flat,instead they cut it slanted and you have guess from a million ways to seal it. Im also having this problem, can't even find the freaking washers have to guess from Amazon

the instructions are pretty clear, but not the easiest to understand. as you see in the video. but if you follow them precisely, it will help you sort out which sealing washer etc. and the reason they do it in a step style, so they can apply this part to many other makes and models. which is still ridiculous.
it is important not to over tighten the bolt over the ceiling washers and the block. use a torque wrench as stated in the video.

I ran into this recently, used a small c-clamp and a piece of a paint stir stick, went in easy.
