    With the NWRC and EF merger, NWRC is sending remaining stock to GA. So it is unknown at this point when they'll be restocked, but I'm sure they will--only it will be on the ExtremeFlight site as NWRC is shutting down.

      After watching your video I checked NWRC and didn't find even a reference to the model. At the price point you mentioned in the video these airplanes will sell like hotcakes. Since all future inventory will be sold from GA I've heard they will be offering a standard price for all shipments ( not withstanding the model in question which is supposed to ship free). We'll see how shipping costs work for EF.

      Was there a wing alignment problem with the Laser that just got glossed over during the review? I'm currently building one myself and the possibility concerns me. Can you allay my fears?

    • @cobaltjones
      @cobaltjones Год назад

      more specifically, is the concern that there might be a defect in the factory template or jig. The other thing in the maiden review, or the second plane, was the apparent weak signal to the receiver that you were picking up on in your telemetry. could it be that the surplus of carbon fiber creates a kind of signal-blocking coffin? please respond. I know you get thousands of comments, but I'm fully committed financially at this stage to the 67" Laser and I'm worried.

      Yeah thank you, It's funny you point that out. people at the field want to come and Touch move and handle Your stuff Without Out even asking if it's OK . that is Is not very polite. all you have to do is see how they handle their stuff for you not to want them to touch yours. Back in the day we would come up to a plane look at it, admire it, keep our distance and then walk away from it no touching. We still need to try to be as friendly as possible because this is for fun and for the enjoyment of it.

    I've had a fondness for the laser for many, many years. This plane checks all the boxes. I knew I would love it. And I do.
    I also bought the Extreme Flight 67" laser. It was more expensive and I had to spend quite a bit more time getting the Ex Flt ready to fly. The Skywing is very good value in comparison. I love the quick wing connectors.
    Tomorrow I will bring them both to the field at the same time for the first time. I'm really hoping I bring them both home in one piece. 👍

    I have the 48" PNP Skywing and I LOVE it!! - It was a BREEZE to put together, as most PNPs are, and it flies FANTASTIC!! I was waiting for your review to see how you would like it after Northwest RC finally was able to send it to you. BTW, Horizon Hobby (Hangar 9) has brought out THREE BALSA PNP planes recently at a VERY reasonable price AND FREE shipping - for a BALSA PNP - that we have - the P-47, PT-19 and Ultra Stick and the build was VERY fast because there is NO GLUE required just SCREWS and they ALL fly great also. The NEXT step for Skywing would be to have the HORIZONTAL and VERTICAL stab SCREW ON, like the Horizon planes I just mentioned, and Dave mentioned he would like to do to it also at 17:13+ into the video 😉- that is the ONLY recommendation I would suggest and like to see in these new Skywing PNP planes. They are designed and fly FANTASTIC 😊👍

      I agree , removable stab and ruder are a must for me. for transportation purposes and even storage at a later date, When I put a plane together I try my best to make the stab removable and I always make the rudder Removable, is very easy to do and I save the Box so if I have to put it away for any reason it'll go right back in the same Box.

    I like every aspect
    of the design and construction but I some concern about the battery connection.
    While I think it is forward thinking engineering and functional, those battery connections are tight and take some force to connect and disconnect.
    I think after repeat use that area will be subject to break. You have to either hold the plane or the area where the connector is, which is small, which puts pressure on the structure which could compromise the structure.
    If battery connections where light friction it would be different but they are tight connections that take force.

      Thank you very much for the Comment about The review, It's not perfect but we try to make it as Helpful and informative for the viewers As possible . I don't think they were labeld that I can remember but it is so simplistic and so big that all you have to do is look at them and you'll know exactly what goes where so that is probably why they didn't label them. The speed control comes from the front and it's only one of them the ailerons are right there so you can identify them immediately. the only 2 you would have to guess a little bit at would be the elevator and the rudder. But I suppose it would have been a nice touch if they would have been labeled.

      It would probably be the best sport plane you've ever flown if you can accept the fact there is no dihedral and the wing is symmetrical. Meaning you don't get help from the airframe to be level. But when they're setup right (even make it just a touch nose heavy) and this plane is an absolute prince in the air.

  • @jeffs7915
    @jeffs7915 Год назад

    Rather than "plug n play" I prefer "point n shoot ". Doing less may encourage knowing less. Larger more complex aircraft require more knowledge and responsibility. A well designed plane is a good thing, many planes offset the aileron bays or aileron horn placement to allow proper geometry, this isn't a new idea. The aileron connection isn't reliable in the long-term in my opinion.
    The idea to make aspects of a plane assembly easy over reliable or safe is not a good philosophy. I'm not saying that this plane is or isn't safe or good, it
    looks well designed. But the drive of manufacturers to market
    the "plug n play mindset encourages a impatience which is not a good characteristic of a responsible pilot. 30 minutes to get it in the air , who has the time, get it down to 10 minutes then I'm in, Lol.

    • @davidpaker626
      @davidpaker626 Год назад +1

      Yeah I can see there are different ways of looking at it. another way of looking at it is since the plane is an airplane that requires expertise it may be better to have a professional put it together than somebody that thinks he knows what hes doing and he doesn't. And there are a lot of these people That think they know And they really don't. Another way of looking at it is those people that are very Go Flyers But are not good builders Or just don't have the time . Your comment is the reason why John created the channel to give people an unbiased opinion of the product .We all have a different point of view. Thank you very much for participating that is what makes the channel and we'll be answering some of these questions on Monday when we do the Maiden flight stay tuned .have a good one.

      Fighter pilots don't build their own jets either. For me, it's not a question of patience, it's a question of desire. In hearing so many discussions about "build vs buy" (which also occurs in the custom car hobby) I segment the hobby into two parts: Modeling and Flying. Some are good at one, some at the other, some at both.
      I do not believe building is a prerequisite for flying, nor is flying a prerequisite for building (look at the amazing plastic scale modelers out there). In my particular case, it's simply a question of desire. I like to fly, I don't have the desire--or place--to build. My preference shouldn't preclude me from flying. I've built planes from sticks up to this PNP. I *can* do any of it. Not like I don't have a frame of reference.

      @@davidpaker626 Not sure the fighter pilot analogy,, works,, they know their systems.. We're in agreement. My concern or objection is the marketing strategy of "plug n play" it has attracted many
      "Checkbook pilots", It's the double edge sword, as with smaller safe systems, it gets them in, gives them the tools, but not the wisdom. If a pilot lacks the desire to assemble a plane, do they possess the willingness to inspect and maintain the plane? Do they know what to look for ? How about endorsing "Set it and forget"? Hey, It's the price of doing business either, you'll pay the price in time and delayed gratification or in garbage bags.,
