I install carpet, vinyl, etc. In a lot of R.V's. and I really don't know exactly what to charge. You can't go by the yard inside of a R.V. cuz their is usually only around 25 ft. Of carpet. Sum people may charge by the hour but I can bang out pretty fast . So my question is do you have a personal way you would charge sum1 to do a R.V. thanx
Karl, you should have a minimum charge for any job!!! If you know how long it's going to take , bid your min then $50.00 an hour plus extras. My min job is $250.00 . Good luck !!!
Always make sure your installer is prepping correctly such as checking the flatness of the floor, sanding seams. Most installers do not check this and is critical in longevity of your flooring. This industry is flooded with knocking it out and get paid installers or tail light installers. If your floors end joints aren't even staggered, the installer isn't professional. Your installer should know your flooring specs.
Carpet Expert Blueprint That’s awesome and it’s good that you went and got it fixed when I was younger I broke my hands couple times and never got it properly fixed now they bother me a lot
Carpet Expert Blueprint 😮😮 Yep I went here a few months ago and had a Cortizone shot in my wrist and it has temporarily relieved it but it’s starting to act up again
FloorsbySouthernboys I’m assuming we’ve been in this business roughly similar amount of time. Are you “Rollin till the wheels fall off” or do you have an exit planned?
I am a contractor starting to get into the flooring install business. I have been doing a lot of the 1/4 round but lately I have had a few costumers asking about removing the baseboard and reinstalling. what should I charge to do that?
Super man, when bidding a job if it is actually 200sqr ft. You order 10% more material for waste. So 220 sq of material. And you charge for the 220 not 200!! If you handle it,,,,you get paid for it!!! So much labor costs depends on what type of material it is!! You should start around 2.00 a sqrft. For score and snap! If you need saws up the price to pay for the saw and blades. One blade per job regardless of how many jobs you get out of the blade!! Chop saw, table saw, jig saw or any other tools, you charge basically by the day on how much it cost to rent one plus 50%, so a table saw rental is 40 you charge 60 for wear n tear! Then there's floor prep and furniture moving ,carpet take up , quarter round etc etc ect. All hard surfaces get quarter round period!!!! Carpet removal, .20sqft. Furniture 50-60 per normal room . Appliances 35-50 apiece water gas lines??? Floor prep is $50.00 and up also, customer pays for materials!! Hope this helps you out!!! These are Cleveland Ohio prices. Most stores want to tell you what they pay. Good luck and buy those 250.00 dollar kneepads there well worth it
That's an all inclusive price I'm guessing. Moving furniture or appliances, tear up of old floors, installing new floors, installing trims, trash hauling....
Very clear and easy to understand the math. Thank you!!
Great information! What about transition pieces?
£15 per m2 in uk going rate including prep work but not prep materials that’s for straight lay with no border
Quarter around, two dollars a linear foot for labor in material?

It would be cheaper to install quarter round. Talk then or it it by explaining damages, having to repaint. Dough like that
If its reinstalling get at least $1 a ln ft a good way to rough estimate is multiplying the sq footage by .3
Most people don't want quarter round and if your good you can pull all the trim brotha and glue together your breaks 😂
hi have come across your video, as me and my brother have started a business together.
can you help in more detail with messing and price a job?
