      In reality, DID is a disorder that occurs to help people deal with incredibly traumatizing situations. For many people DID is a struggle but many others find comfort in knowing that there's people who understand what you've been through and were formed in order to help you deal with it. It feels like all representation we have in media of DID always has it portrayed as a complete tragedy, however many people with the disorder come to live relatively normal lives. :)

    I can see this being a real complicated thing from a legal perspective. How do you know if it's a really condition or if they're faking? Obviously they could be faking because look what Tom Holland Did. He was faking every character, convincingly (Or James McAvoy in Split - It can be done), So maybe maybe can. But at the same time if it's a real issue the person shouldn't just be thrown in a cell. Especially when this is almost exclusively a result of extreme sexual trauma as a young kid. I don't think they should just walk free, but the should receive help from psychologist while in an appropriate Hospital.

    • @effyourreview
      @effyourreview  Год назад +21

      It really is a losing battle for the judge. If you access his mental health plea he's not getting the punishment for the crime. If you don't accept it you could essentially be placing a mentally ill person in a prison where they'll only get worse and gain more trauma :/
