Their current $700-800 phone the iPhone XR is basically their flagship and is sold at $749. My mother has an iPhone 7 for the past two years now and she's looking forward to upgrade to a newer iPhone, but the problem is that she doesn't like the "all-screen" design and prefers to have a home button, rather than gestures. A new SE with the iPhone 8 design would be perfect for her and so many other people who like to have a home button.

Ya know after watching your video, I feel better about this phone and I might upgrade to the SE 2 when it releases. I’d be looking forward to this phone depending on whether or not the it comes in cheaper than a discounted (by 2020) iPhone XR. iPhone 8 design with 2019 internals for $499 is a very compelling deal for many people, it will probably sell very well. And people will love Apple for selling it.
iPhone 8 (not + version) is insanly fast, with beautiful true tone screen. But the battery dries out in half a day. That's why I have an iPhone SE and iPhone 8+ instead. If an Apple'll make an upgade for iPhone 8 models - A13 CPU, 4-6 GIGs of RAM, iPhone 11 cameras and slightly larger batteries. Wow! That sounds like delicious idea with chipper price tag =.)
My question is will the camera change? Keep in mind the lenses on the 11 are much larger than the lens of the iPhone 8, so if they did upgrade it would require a new design. But if they didn’t change the design, then the camera wouldn’t change. I’m more in the camp that says the design of this phone will be slightly different, but will still have an iPhone 8 style.

Hell yeah. I was considering an iphone 8, but an iphone SE2 seems like a better option. I am not a fan of faceID, and since I am currently using an Iphone 7, i wont see an iPhone SE 2 as a downgrade vis a vis newer iphones, since I havent used one with the edge to edge screen display.
I would honestly love to see an iPhone with the form factor of the 5s but with a smaller forehead (not a notch, just smaller so I could fit face id, a front facing camera and all the other sensors) and chin, without a home button. I honestly would be fine with a display similar to the XR (720p and LCD) so that the small battery in it can power it. Obviously it would have the latest specs (A13 and 3/4GB of ram), wireless charging and some sort of IP rating. A single camera, like what we have on the XR would be fine. If this was priced at like $599-649 it would honestly be a steal and I don't think it would be too expensive for apple to manufacture so it could be likely.
I would totally buy that phone. I have an iPhone 6 that works perfectly fine. I don’t want to give it up but it’s no longer supported. I’d rather limp this one along for the next 6 months and wait for the SE. I just don’t care for that bigger design. My hands are small

Drew is definitely correct here. Everyone saying that the whole point of the SE is that it was small missed the point entirely. That might be why you liked it, but it's not why Apple made it. This is what I think might be causing the confusion. I bet that most people who rant and rave about how much they loved the SE probably did love it because it was small. They loved the 5/5C/5S design, and were disappointed when it was changed and enlarged, so they loved that Apple released the SE. That's probably the majority of people who loved the SE and rant about it online. BUT. I doubt that that is the majority of people who BOUGHT an SE. I used to have an iPhone SE, DESPITE the fact that it was small. I'm a relatively large man with large hands. I prefer the design/size of the iPhone 8, 11 or 11 Pro (but not the 8 Plus or 11 Pro Max, that's a bit too large for my taste). The SE was just too small for my taste. I bought it because was cheap and had the latest chip (A9). I would imagine that people like me make up the majority of SE buyers. We just don't rant and rave about how much we love(d) the SE, because we don't love it. It was a budget decision, and we regarded it as a compromise option. I'd have strongly preferred a 6S at the time, if I could have afforded it. Btw, if you are someone who loved the SE because it's small, there is some hope for you. There are rumors that in 2020, the iPhone line up will make the successor to the 11 Pro smaller, and the successor to the 11 Pro Max larger (5.8" to 5.4" and 6.5" to 6.7"). I'd have to see it in person, but maybe a 5.4" screen with the all-screen design might be similar in size to the SE with a 4" screen and large bezels. But, to Apple, the SE was a way of upgrading their oldest design still in production (the 5S), by giving it the internals of their latest phone in production (the 6S). If they do exactly what they did last time, this is what they would do: So, before the 5S design would have been set to be discontinued in 9/2016, they replaced it with the SE in 3/2016. The 8 is set to be discontinued in 9/2020, so they will replace it with the SE2 in 3/2020. The SE had the body of a 5S with the internals of the 6S. So, the SE2 will have the body of an 8 with the internals of the 11. Price wise, if they follow their previous pattern, it would launch at $399 for the base model. The iPhone 5S cost $449 before the SE was announced for $399. The iPhone 8 currently costs $449, so it makes sense that the SE2 would launch for $399. One thing I'm unsure of is the fate of the 8 Plus. The 5S only came in one size, so there's no precedent for it. Would there be the SE2 and the SE2 Plus? Or, would there just be the SE2 and the 8 Plus? Would the 8 Plus be discontinued? This I don't know. Maybe they won't do exactly what they did last time, but if they do the exact same thing as with the SE, then the SE2 will launch in 3/2020. It will have an iPhone 8 body with an A13 chip and 3GB RAM. The iPhone 8 will be simultaneously discontinued. And, the SE2 will launch at $399 for the 64GB model. That's if they follow their previous pattern exactly.

This iphone is probably going to be perfect (If it does come out) for people who want that classic look of the iphone, but still want all the best features modern phones now have. In my opinion, I would definitely buy it just for that reason unless it has a high price like the iphone 10 & 11 have.

YUP I still use my 5S for my music, and my SE for games and watching videos, my iPhone 8 is my lifeline for Video calls and all the rest of my activities. I'm down for the SE2 on an iPhone 8 chassis - I have tons of cases to revive =)
I can believe a $500 starting point because then it allows the Xr to start at $600, the iphone 11 at 750 (assuming apple doesnt call the successor to the 10R, 11R and instead just calls it the new iphone 11), then the pro series devices at 1000/1100. It allows much more coverage of products at whatever price point the consumer feels comfortable with. Cause at 400 it feels like the best option, better than buying an 8 and better than a Xr or any new 2019 phone. Most ppl just want whats cheap and dont care for near bezel-less displays or faceid.
I think it will be iPhone SE with A12 £529 iPhone XR with A12 £629 iPhone 11 with A13 £729 And so on... but I think that pricing would make most sense to challenge other manufacturers across the board. Apple have shown they will use older chips, as they still perform great, and this will sell more handsets.
Definitely interested, I just bought a refurb iPhone 8 256gb. May not buy at launch though. I’m not sold on the iPhone X - 11 phone design yet, and don’t need the fancy camera features. I hope the rumors are true, they shouldn’t kill off the classic design of the iPhone 8 and below.

I’m actually very happy Apple’s most likely just going to recycle the iPhone 8’s design. As far as small phones go, that’s easily my favourite, just wish it supported gestures like the iPhone X’s (I know it’s got the home button, just wanted it to feel more familiarity to my other devices :P).

Drew is definitely correct here. Everyone saying that the whole point of the SE is that it was small missed the point entirely. That might be why you liked it, but it's not why Apple made it. This is what I think might be causing the confusion. I bet that most people who rant and rave about how much they loved the SE probably did love it because it was small. They loved the 5/5C/5S design, and were disappointed when it was changed and enlarged, so they loved that Apple released the SE. That's probably the majority of people who loved the SE and rant about it online. BUT. I doubt that that is the majority of people who BOUGHT an SE. I used to have an iPhone SE, DESPITE the fact that it was small. I'm a relatively large man with large hands. I prefer the design/size of the iPhone 8, 11 or 11 Pro (but not the 8 Plus or 11 Pro Max, that's a bit too large for my taste). The SE was just too small for my taste. I bought it because was cheap and had the latest chip (A9). I would imagine that people like me make up the majority of SE buyers. We just don't rant and rave about how much we love(d) the SE, because we don't love it. It was a budget decision, and we regarded it as a compromise option. I'd have strongly preferred a 6S at the time, if I could have afforded it. Btw, if you are someone who loved the SE because it's small, there is some hope for you. There are rumors that in 2020, the iPhone line up will make the successor to the 11 Pro smaller, and the successor to the 11 Pro Max larger (5.8" to 5.4" and 6.5" to 6.7"). I'd have to see it in person, but maybe a 5.4" screen with the all-screen design might be similar in size to the SE with a 4" screen and large bezels. But, to Apple, the SE was a way of upgrading their oldest design still in production (the 5S), by giving it the internals of their latest phone in production (the 6S). If they do exactly what they did last time, this is what they would do: So, before the 5S design would have been set to be discontinued in 9/2016, they replaced it with the SE in 3/2016. The 8 is set to be discontinued in 9/2020, so they will replace it with the SE2 in 3/2020. The SE had the body of a 5S with the internals of the 6S. So, the SE2 will have the body of an 8 with the internals of the 11. Price wise, if they follow their previous pattern, it would launch at $399 for the base model. The iPhone 5S cost $449 before the SE was announced for $399. The iPhone 8 currently costs $449, so it makes sense that the SE2 would launch for $399. One thing I'm unsure of is the fate of the 8 Plus. The 5S only came in one size, so there's no precedent for it. Would there be the SE2 and the SE2 Plus? Or, would there just be the SE2 and the 8 Plus? Would the 8 Plus be discontinued? This I don't know. Maybe they won't do exactly what they did last time, but if they do the exact same thing as with the SE, then the SE2 will launch in 3/2020. It will have an iPhone 8 body with an A13 chip and 3GB RAM. The iPhone 8 will be simultaneously discontinued. And, the SE2 will launch at $399 for the 64GB model. That's if they follow their previous pattern exactly.
Man, I got such a debate on my hands, I'm planning on buying the new apple watch that's gonna be released (If it even gets released lol), since I still have the original iPhone SE, should I still buy the Apple Watch or buy the new SE instead? Awesome video btw!

I just wish that apple kept the headphone jack option on their phones...including their updated SE...that’s one of the reasons why I went ‘back’ and bought a used original SE and like it...that and the size.

This iphone is probably going to be perfect (If it does come out) for people who want that classic look of the iphone, but still want all the best features modern phones now have. In my opinion, I would definitely buy it just for that reason unless it has a high price like the iphone 10 & 11 have.

YUP I still use my 5S for my music, and my SE for games and watching videos, my iPhone 8 is my lifeline for Video calls and all the rest of my activities. I'm down for the SE2 on an iPhone 8 chassis - I have tons of cases to revive =)
I can believe a $500 starting point because then it allows the Xr to start at $600, the iphone 11 at 750 (assuming apple doesnt call the successor to the 10R, 11R and instead just calls it the new iphone 11), then the pro series devices at 1000/1100.
It allows much more coverage of products at whatever price point the consumer feels comfortable with. Cause at 400 it feels like the best option, better than buying an 8 and better than a Xr or any new 2019 phone. Most ppl just want whats cheap and dont care for near bezel-less displays or faceid.

And so on... but I think that pricing would make most sense to challenge other manufacturers across the board. Apple have shown they will use older chips, as they still perform great, and this will sell more handsets.

Definitely interested, I just bought a refurb iPhone 8 256gb. May not buy at launch though. I’m not sold on the iPhone X - 11 phone design yet, and don’t need the fancy camera features. I hope the rumors are true, they shouldn’t kill off the classic design of the iPhone 8 and below.

I don't think there will be a lot of people going to buy SE2 if they are the same size of iP8. People loved the first SE because of it's small 4-inch size. Flagship iP6s specs in 2016 within small form factor with a traditional simple design? That's perfect!
