5 Last Things for Wedding Officiants to Check (Before Starting the Ceremony!)

- Опубликовано: 30 июн 2024
- When you're the wedding officiant or celebrant, you need to check five last details before you walk down the aisle and kick off the ceremony. The moment you walk out and take the front, the train has left the station. The horse has left the barn. The ball is in play. [Insert other metaphor here.] In a nutshell, there’s just no going back.
Now, there will always be things we can’t foresee and control, but there are some things we can. And sure, there are lots of details to take care of when you arrive at the ceremony venue. But in the two minutes before you walk out there, focus on these five.
Why these five? Because, as you’ll see, if they’re overlooked or not as they should be, it affects the ceremony in a pretty rough way.
In this video, you'll learn the 5 last details to check to make sure you can start the wedding ceremony with the confidence that everything is ready and will go smoothly.

Mark does a great job covering all the bases on how to officiate a wedding. Thanks!
Thanks, Paul!
I am so impressed with the knowledge you share!!! Thank you !!!!!
Great video and channel. I’m officiating my first wedding soon and just hearing how someone else does it really helps. Thanks!
Excellent content and delivery! This is good stuff! 👍 Thank you!
Super helpful. Always masterful to remind everyone that things go wrong but we're in this together. Nice!
You are something else Mark. I mean that in a positive manner. Your tips are priceless.
Dear friend Mark-I call you friend because your sharing your experience on these videos is so helpful to us who will be officiating a wedding for the first time! Just subscribed, can't wait for the next new videos!!! :-)
Your videos have been very helpful! I am officiating my grandson's wedding and very nervous but the videos help. Thank you!
Thank you for giving me a format to follow. My first ceremony is in two weeks and I’m so excited and nervous! Prayers are needed!
MJ Smith
Very helpful information. Thank you very much. I’m officiating my first wedding in two weeks.
My favorite thing is the provision that you make for the (very likely) possibility that something could go wrong (including a dog running through the ceremony - lol) - it relieves that tension we all get as a participant (speaking from experience officiating at ceremonies) at the thought that we might mess up this special occasion by something we may or may not say or do - nice touch Mark - this whole series makes me want to be a wedding officiant ... just not at this late stage of my life - lol
Excellent, thank you for sharing.
You are awesome! thanks so much Mark
Thanks for this and other videos. I am excited to officiate my first wedding. And, nervous! I am sure I will watch this video again before the big day!
@@unboringwedding thank you
Thank you very much for your posting these videos! Your videos were very helpful in making my first officiating experience very successful! You make great suggestions and plus your 10 step format keeps it running smoothly! Thank you again!
Thank you again, I was asked to do another one after the ceremony !
Great, i will continue to look for your videos! They are very informative and help us rookies!
Mark, you are currently my lifesaver. Whilst planning my wedding ceremonies for my certificate V1 in Celebdrancy here in Australia.
Mark! You Rock! I am getting ready to do my first (and hopefully last!) wedding this weekend. I am running through several of your videos again as I cross my T's and dot my I's. When I started this process, I was not comfortable doing this... AT ALL. But with your help, I am confident that I can not only do it, but maybe even knock it out if the park - thanks to you!
I know I don't have to pay you for RUclips videos, but I feel I still owe you one. So here we go...
PEOPLE! If you don't have a good candidate for an officiant for your wedding... Mark is the guy...PERIOD. Call him, hire him, and pay him whatever he asks. You will only do this once, so don't cut corners here. Do you want the best? Well, here he is - his name is Mark Allan Groleau.
Excellent, especially The Last One. Cheers.
Glad you liked it - thanks for the comment!
This is great!
Great guide! One thing I would add for me is to look in the mirror and make sure all is good (for me step 7).
Exstremley helpful videos!!!! :-)
Loved the video!
Thank you so much for taking the time to say so! 👊🏻
Excellent
#4 so important!

Please Mack tell us about welding cark at what time is it to take place and how thanks I love what you are doing sir is helping me in my MC thanks
Awesome 6 step processing checklist
Thank you - glad you found it helpful!
Great videos! One question I have is what kind of padfolio do you use to keep your speech pages in? Is it a standard 8.5x11 size? Does it have a 3-Ring binder built inside?
Thanks!
Thank you
I'm performing my first wedding today and this video is so helpful. Thank you
Thank you! All the best to you today!
You are God sent
For an outdoor wedding, I would assume you run a spot check on the upcoming weather forecast. Have you ever had to have the BM/MOA hold an umbrella over top the couple?
thank you!
I'm officiating my first wedding soon, do I have to bring anything with me to the wedding? the license? or anything important? Your videos are great, thank you so much for the help!
Mark Allan Groleau thanks a million!!
Hi Mark just starting my training in North Wales United Kingdom and I was wondering if you have had someone take ill or faint and how to handle it
I took Mark's course but if I recall correctly the first step to check the pages wasn't in it. 5 minutes before I officiated I decided to check cuz I had the same gut feeling. I was missing the last 3 pages! I would have been so embarrased! At least my script is in the cloud so I could have opened it on my cell phone.
I would add to make sure your own phone is silent. I forgot to but thankfully it didnt ring.
Any good opening statements for an outdoor wedding during this unprecedented covid experience.
How to relieve everyone's angst and anxiety? Thanks!
Thank you! This is very helpful.
Much of what you discussed has been covered by the couple and their planner. I appreciate the quick response and the options you provide for greetings.
This is a trying time especially for those who had planned a wedding before covid.
I feel more confident now with you insight, thanks!
Hi, May I have a script of your wedding ceremony.. Looking for ways to improve mine. Ty
Question? Where do you recommend getting ordained online?
Do I need to notarized the married certificate? What I have to do after the wedding? Is my first time I need help! 😆
Great tips ( I am stealing your dog running through line)
Question.. Is the officiant supposed to deliver the paperwork for the couples license?
I have been to many weddings. I have never seen anyone sign papers during the ceremony. Can this be done after the ceremony but before the presentation of the couple?
It is never done in the U.S. like that ... it is handled right after or after grand entrance or during dinner. I am an officiant and have been to more weddings than I can count. The whole ending explained on this channel is nothing I’ve seen in the U.S. but could just be a Canada thing
I have seen the lighting of candles and signing of papers during the ceremony, but after the vows. More than once. I am in the US.
Doing a wedding renewal today
I’ve never done a renewal, myself - just a wedding guy. :-) All the best to you!
@@unboringwedding neither have I but it shouldn’t be too different right?🤷🏾♂️
How do we know the order of the ceremony?
Thanks for your question and for watching! I have a video on the traditional 10 part order of ceremony here! ruclips.net/video/To-USbFwo44/видео.html
Bruh, clean your lens or get rid of that dot on the wall. BTW, really enjoying your videos. Thank you!
You got it. I've spent the last couple hours checking out your videos and want you to know it's really helping a lot. I've done a couple of really small weddings with maybe ten to twenty people and what I've written has always been fine but next month I'm doing one with maybe 200 plus and I'm kinda freaking out. I think going by your layout I'll feel a lot more comfortable and confident so again, thank you!
Happy to hear it, thanks.
Jeez, what would you do if either of them said, ‘No,’ I’ve changed my mind? Seriously, what would you do? 👍🏼
I don't understand what you are saying??? 123...
One other thing to check. Make sure the wedding party spits out or swallows their gum. Nothing worse that chomping gum in front of 200 people. Just looks bad.
