When changing the blades take the centre bolt out first which will give easy access to both blade nuts and bolts.

Its worth a look at the Masport 470. Uses the same motor but build quality of the lawn mower is much better. Fully built out of the box, only need to snap the catcher together. Comes at a slightly higher price tag but it worth considering if people are looking for a mower like this Victa

I don't think we have masport in Australia. Mr Victa actually invented this type on mower

@@noinchesdiy7269 I live in Victoria and bought the Masport 470 from Bunnings. Masport is a New Zealand founded company (founded 1910) been building petrol lawn mowers since 1938. I believe they are now built on Australia. Victa was founded in 1952 however is now owned by the Briggs & Stratton company (after being sold by Mervyn Victor Richardson in 1970 to Sunbeam Corp Ltd, then to GUD Holdings Limited in 1996 and finally Briggs & Stratton in 2008)
I bought another Masport because my other one of 25 years had died. But they both use the same engine, just different build qualities on everything else. Great video btw showing how to set this up and how well it runs!

This machine from Bunnings is now $449.00, like many other mowers Bunnings have, they have added $50.00 to all their machines.

9:20 Did you tip it the correct way initially? I would have thought tipping it towards the petrol side would cause issues.

    • @noinchesdiy7269

no issues with tipping it up

I tipped mine same way after same thing happened to me, hit something and blade spun, but when i tipped mine, heard some liquid go somewhere it probably shouldn't have, been too scared to start it since

Would it not be a good idea to move the brick?I always do a quick walk around before i mow.Rather sadly nearly all Mowers are now built in China but my old B&S classic 7 series still going

My x husband and son bought me one of these a few weeks ago I live alone and I can’t get it started .I know absolutely nothing about mowers I was so excited to finally have a new mower I love it it’s so light . But I used it the other day for a few turns it ran out of petrol as it always does in the same place . Of course I filled it up,before using it as I always do . I look after my mower always have done . The other day after I filled it up,again I can’t seem to start it . I watched a video found where and how to clean the air filter it’s new like I said it didn’t really need cleaning but I did .I can’t get the spark plug of to see if that’s filfty it shouldn’t be being so new . I have no tools my x has just moved away back to nsw.I’m in qld and have absolutely no one to help .being in a small town there’s no Bunnings would you have any idea what could be wrong with it .I need my lawns done I like to keep my place neat if you could help with some ideas or advice that would be very nice and thank you 👍😉

Victa used to be an Iconic Australia owned and made brand but unfortunately now its American owned and all Chinese made. Nearly everything from Bunnings is made to be disposed of after a short time. A Chinese Victa isn't really a Victa. The older Australian made ones are great and can easily service 20-30 years or more

@@noinchesdiy7269 it was in the shed for 3 maybe 4 years I can't remember, because we had someone else cut our grass during that time. Around about 2 months ago replaced oil, new fuel and started up first pull. Getting new blades, sparkplug, air filter and it'll pretty much be brand new.
