The one thing that I love the most form these ports is an actual 16x9 support. On ps2, the 16x9 support is only a cheap zoomed in version, which means that you lose a huge chunk of the screen. Answer from their website's FAQ: "As of now, it's unsure whether Jak X will be decompiled." I'm really hoping that Jak X is decompiled because that means online multiplayer might be possible
The port relies on the user ripping their own PS2 copy of the game to get it to work, none of the original game's assets or code are included in the OpenGOAL software.
I know Jak 3 PC isnt out yet but what of we manage to finally have an online mode for Jak X on PC in the future? The popularity of this series would spike up if this team can pull it off!

Jak II is now playable on the PC, but I say "playable" very liberally because it's still impossible to complete the sewer escort mission on any platform.
If they can do Jak 3 and the Daxter PSP game, I will be a very happy man. Jak X racing I'm not so concerned about, but it would be nice to have a cart racer on PC. Also, Naughty Dog used to be all about custom/optimised coding in the early days, they did the same for Crash Bandicoot. The story goes other developers thought Naughty Dog had access to a PlayStation development kit, thats how far they managed to push the PS1/PS2. It's really sad to see how far Naughty Dog has fallen since Gavin and Rubin left in that regard. They used to make some of the most optimised games for their platform in the industry, a quality long since lost with Uncharted and TLOU.
Speaking of ol' ND's difficult coding... Now, you have fans who are self-taught at this point, more or less like the original ND creators were. Why not have them make a new Jak game - a game by the fans, for the fans, so to speak Maybe ask the OG creators to have advisor input here and there, just to get the spirit of Jak right Have the OG voice cast return as much as possible Money, service to the fans, PR and overall good fortune for all Naughty Dog, it's time to Jak things UP! Edit: It's weird to me why ND hasn't released a PC port/Remaster themselves yet... Or even better, a Ratchet & Clank makeover
One reason why they wont make a jak game, its called copyright. OpenGOAL does things very specifically to not infringe on copyright, so no they wouldnt get the OG cast, no money involved, etc.
If they’re in beta then I can only recommend adding checkpoints through missions. The length of some missions, and you having to restart from the beginning, has made me drop replaying this game multiple times.

They used to make some of the most optimised games for their platform in the industry, a quality long since lost with Uncharted and TLOU.
dude that daxter mod clip lmao
WELL SLAP ME WITH A TURKEY SANDWICH HES BACK
So we have Ratchet & Clank for PC, now Jak & Daxter. Hopefully we can get a Sly Cooper game next to complete the OG PS trio.
We don't have Ratchet and Clank for PC though. Only Rift Apart. None of the older games are on PC.
I meant we have at least 1 of those games for PC. Sly has been left on the PS and I don't have a current model.@@MuchWhittering
Please do a jak 1 mod showcase
Speaking of ol' ND's difficult coding...
Now, you have fans who are self-taught at this point, more or less like the original ND creators were.
Why not have them make a new Jak game - a game by the fans, for the fans, so to speak
Maybe ask the OG creators to have advisor input here and there, just to get the spirit of Jak right
Have the OG voice cast return as much as possible
Money, service to the fans, PR and overall good fortune for all
Naughty Dog, it's time to Jak things UP!
Edit:
It's weird to me why ND hasn't released a PC port/Remaster themselves yet...
Or even better, a Ratchet & Clank makeover
Ratchet is owned by Insomniac, so that might be a reason why ND hasn't touched it.
One reason why they wont make a jak game, its called copyright. OpenGOAL does things very specifically to not infringe on copyright, so no they wouldnt get the OG cast, no money involved, etc.
Can anybody tell me if 2 can be played all the way and the extra features
Imo Naughty Dog should buy this port from the devs and run it in the background and put their engine over it to update the visuals
Wow that’s cool
I thought that Daxtel was a weasel(since Ottsel is a mashup of otter and weasel). Not a cat. I know what a cat looks like. ^_^
More jak and daxter content
What’s up fellow turkey lords 🥰
Can i play this on my steam deck
where to get iso?
How do I install the emulator I’m new to pc
If they’re in beta then I can only recommend adding checkpoints through missions. The length of some missions, and you having to restart from the beginning, has made me drop replaying this game multiple times.
This is a great idea
This is a bad idea. Jak 2 difficulty is near perfect but Jak 3 is trivial due to the checkpoint spam. Only thing I wish for is faster city travel
I want the same thing, but make it an option you can toggle ON or OFF. For those who want the classic checkpoint experience
"naughty dog actually had to make a lot of their own code to make what we see in the jak and daxter games a reality"
wow what a doozy of a fact
