Thanks for the upload went riding last week and heard a loud clank sound in motor just started pulling mine out this video will help he a ton! Thanks!!!
ty so much for these videos ...have an 09 outlander 800r the through shaft is bent and gotta split the motor so going to put an 840 or bigger rebuild kit while tearing it down so this helps a ton!
3:20 / don’t be embarrassed bro we saw that bolt you forgot 😁 - Just messing with you brother / good vid / I know I gotta rebuild my brother’s at some point.
i have one of these engines.. less than 100 hours of use on it and the tensioner.. or something failed causing it to slip the timing chain off the sprocket. the chain never broken but sadly it has taken out the mount for the horse shoe clip.. so i think the engine is a scrapper :( the tensioner looks to have melted?? all molten plastic around it
No you have to remove it in order to remove trans from the motor. The through shaft will not come out with out removing trans from the motor. Hope this helps
Oh prop shaft. Yes both front and rear prop shafts can be removed without removal of engine. Check my previous video or I can make another because this seems to be a common question
Nick, thanks for the video. I know this is an older post and thus I may not snag a response, so I understand if this goes unanswered. I just got a 2007 800 Max XT and was wondering if the tranny can be removed, along with the through-case driveshaft, without actually removing the engine?
4272 miles on this block and beat the hell out of it everytime I rode it. In the end a loose/stretched cam chain started rubbing the inside case and cause me to do a 940 instead of a simple chain replacement.
08 and yes def upgrade your guides if it hasn't been done before. I replaced mine originally around 1000 miles before it became a problem. you are correct about the guides but I'm not sure the chains are. I could be wrong but when I did that 5 years ago I only replaced guides
2007 w 5400 kms (3240mi) Just about every mod to keep it cool. Muzzy exhaust, heat wrap, oil cooler, new fan, rad & shroud, engine ice, new fuel pump. Blew rings out finally.
Tune monster w O2 sensors. Rarely driven slowly. Because it'll overheat. Opened up plastics & put ducting in to direct air to the rad. I'm taking my old rad to a shop & have them make it 3 or 4 row.
Ya I beat the hell out of mine. its rarely ever seen a road or "good" trails. I have had a rad relocate for much of its life but its always been kinda nice to me lol. cheapest way is Mr rpm 800 kit and get a hold of warranty killer performance (Quinton Daniels) next week about the chains and guides. he is on vacation till next week though. you can search fb. I have A LOT tied up in my motor build and only sub work was the port and polished plus stage 2 cuts for my cams
as far as the cooling that one is a little bit more tricky. you seem like you got all the systems to help out I wouldn't even know what else you could add you pretty much have all the basics covered. I flush my system about every 50 hours and I usually bleed it about every oil change. other than that I haven't done nothing to my cooling system. WKP he will know if there's any other way to help you

Great video, great job!

You got that clean enough you should really be working on that in your living room.

Hey man good info. How can I get a hold of you i have a question about an 800efi outlander 2007. No one seems to be able to answer.
Where did you get clutch puller I have to fix my rod bearings
Would this be accurate for tearing down a 2013 outlander 650 engine?
Is this the same as Can am Commander
do you know is it possible to remove drive shaft without taking out the engine?
No you have to remove it in order to remove trans from the motor. The through shaft will not come out with out removing trans from the motor. Hope this helps

Negative the whole thing has to come out sorry for the late response I was on staycation for 21 and half months
so was it a e16 or e14 you said both
seriously you really have to wash the engine block before removing parts.
Lol! Fuck that I only was the cv boots and my seat the rest stays dirty.... nah I really should have before tearing it down
good video how many miles on that motor

where did you get your experience? do u work for a can am dealer?
Al Michaels _
Al Michaels 13:00 he said in video he’s not a professional
What year is this machine? I hear the timing chains on pre 2009 are poor.

What!? I thought Can-Am's never needed rebuilds!
how the fuck are you going to find the bolts back when you are throwing them at the ground all the time.....
..
sorry but you are not a mechanic ether.
