  • Join me as I cosy up my art studio by building a wooden top for my metal cabinet! I've wanted to do this for the last year, so it was nice to finally get to it. It was a quick little DIY project but it makes the whole room feel a bit warmer.

Great job man! You could always recess some strong magnets in the underside of the table top to grab the locker more securely.

I was just coming here to say the same thing. I have metal cabinets in my kitchen and made some wooden shelves for plants that I recessed some magnets into and it works great!!!

I don’t have a track saw or a kreg accu guide so I’ve always used a 12inch square to guide my circular saw BUT I never once thought to just stop halfway and flip the square so the cut is consistent all the way through. Such a simple trick that never occurred to me! I’m gonna start doing that from now on, cheers!

To be honest I don't think I'd thought to do it until I did it for this! But it works well if your edges are parallel :)

awesome, I keep cheating and buying old tables to save joining boards, I must get round to doing it soon properly.

I saw you doing that in your last video and it was honestly eye opening because I wouldn't have thought to do it! I'd been meaning to try it for a while too, and it really wasn't so bad in the end, it's one of those things that I'm going to end up doing all the time but the first time I try anything is always 5% scary. I like trying new things slowly, usually not too many all at once

good job. One question, what printer do you use?

Thanks! The printer is a Canon Pixma mp495 and it's absolutely terribly. i don't think they make this model anymore but if you find one, don't get it :)
