    I’m probably half stacker, half collector. I definitely understand stacking, but if I limit myself a bit-quite a bit sometimes-I think it’s fine to do both. I’ve flipped a few coins that did well, but I enjoy seeing the variation and craftsmanship that goes into the collectibles.

  • @ronaldhall9701
    @ronaldhall9701 2 года назад +1

    This is a good lesson in how and what to buy because when you go to sell unless you flip you get same price for premium or generic

    • @SilverForeverX
      @SilverForeverX  2 года назад +2

      In flipping silver (or anything really), the money is made on the buy--you've got to get a good price yourself or else there's just no room to re sell it and make anything decent at the third or fourth-level of the market

      I left out a LOT of series, but yes this is a really cool one. I don't have many dragons themed pieces, but I see TONS of folks in the community love them, which means they are a prime opportunity for private resale when the time comes

  • @rickgilbert4569

    I am very much a collector and I completely missed out on the Queens Beast series...I think I only have four of the coins and the completer, but I jumped on the first edition of the Tudor Beast, even though the design is not quite as good. You are absolutely right, though, in saying that you have to know what things are going for and that your local LCS may be the best chance to get some one-offs from different series at a great price.

    I only collect the silver SWAN line-yeah,it’s a short run lol and ungraded Morgans in nice condition.The rest of my silver is for the weight.There is just too much of silver collectible varieties out there compared to gold,would spend too much money on premiums.That’s why I’m trying to put more dough toward the gold Swan line,for example.

    • @SilverForeverX
      @SilverForeverX  2 года назад +2

      I agree, if you spread out your extra money on too many collections of high-premium, you miss out on the potential to stack more weight. Those gold swans are pretty nice!

    Good point on this video, well said. I'm also a fan of Germania Mint, fun fact most people think they are a German mint because of their name but the mint is actually in Poland.
    Personally I would flip the kooks that are worth more than double spot, hang on to rest of them for stack weight and potential value increase. Then I would start a collection of the new style Kooks and Koala (which started 2022 if I recall correctly). I would get a couple 2022s of each and continue each year, getting them right when they release.

    Just curious...
    Do you ever deal with XXXXXXX XXXX XXXXX?
    There is a Tacoma location as well as a couple others.
    Best prices Iv seen on AGE's
    I checked their live prices on Wednesday and a 1/10oz AGE was $213.
    They dont do mail order as far as I know, but I know you can purchase on the phone and do "will call" pickup.
    I did a Silver to Gold trade with them a year or two ago and got over spot for my 10 oz bars.
    I also traded 8 generics for a 2021 1/10oz Gold Kookaburra when they 1st came out and got over spot. I left with the Gold and $9 for 8oz.
    Have a great weekend.

      Yep, I've been to a few, mostly Tacoma. Really clean place and some good folks there! In the future, I'd rather avoid names of specific shops in the comments, but I've alluded to this one in the past in regards to 1/10oz gold. They told me they have very little market for them, so they wouldn't pay any premium on the fractional gold coins.. but it sounds like that goes both ways, for buy/sell! I haven't seen an AGE for 213 from an online vendor for many months!

      @Metaphorical Mask It's truly a bummer that all these bullion coins milk spot so badly, even worse when my 'premium' coins from The Royal Mint do. I was planning to stack more Maples this year, but premiums are so ridiculous on everything... cheapest I see online right now is over 35% premium for MintShield maples. I've pivoted to stacking the Germania Mint kilo bars, which you can regularly get for < 15% premium from MM.
