Tho The Gurdjieff Work sounds very complex it is enticing. That feeling, that 'I-ness', is very tangible, very palpable, when experienced. I think that it is a state that is intrinsically human but has been lost in the increasing importance put on rationality, which leads to the scientific era in which we live today. Have we gone, irreversably, too far down the scientific route to the detriment of all other possibilities?
@@daddycool228 I mean people being educated to understand science and the scientific method and to value the rigorous application of logic and facts over the wishful thinking of mysticism and religion.
@@yohei72 Thanks. When you say 'mysticism' do you mean 'spirituality'? Are you questioning anything beyond what you can touch in a material sense? If you can't see it with your eyes or touch it with your hands it doesn't exist? Is that what you are saying? Or are you referring to faith? Faith comes in all kinds of shapes and forms not just attached to God and explored through religion. My take on Jacob is that he is suggesting a verifiable, evidence-based system. Self-observation. Observing our multiplicity and being aware of how the personality has developed and presents kind of barriers. The act of observation helps to see this.

All that seems left is to do a scientific investigation.
No. We haven’t gone nearly far enough- most people are still hypnotized by religion and mysticism, etc., to our ongoing detriment.
@@yohei72 when you mean more is required as opposed to mysticism and religion, what do you mean? What I mean is what proposal do you have?
