- The NYPD says a tourist was the victim of an unprovoked knife attack at Eighth Avenue and West 43rd Street on Saturday afternoon. CBS New York's Derick Waller reports.

Times square is incredibly unsafe right now. There are so many homeless shelters in the area and many of its inhabitants roam the streets day and night. The other day I went late night to the 7eleven on 42nd Street between 7th and 8th Ave and a crazy homeless man physically assaulted a south Korean tourist buying a coffee, then that same man stole a phone from another tourist eating a sandwich next door at a subway restaurant. Shocking.

WTH! Everyday there have been violent attacks. And the actor Steve Buscemi was punched today in midtown! The 11 yr old girl yesterday getting cut with a box cutter, the teen getting stabbed the other day, women getting punched on the street...I used to visit NY often in the 90s-early 2000s and always felt completely safe.
