HI， Stephen, very good demo of drawing a mountain .I viewed picture carefully, especially the rock formation , I find most of the rocks are vertically shaped . So in such case , if I draw this mountain , I would hatch the rock vertically. But I noticed that you did most of the hatching horizontally Could you tell me why you did not use vertical line to hatch ? Thanks ! I like this mountain and I shall try it later.

I thought shorter, horizontal lines would give a better chance to show the curving of the mountain face. And vertical lines would cause my vertical lines defining the ridges in the mountain to get lost.
