Some other things you may add are: 1) A mini tool kit (Hammer, screwdriver, etc.) There were several times my roommates and I needed tools. Thank God my mom thought to send a tool kit with me; 2) A Bible-a tangible/hard copy one! As a person of faith, the mere sight of the Word of God was comforting to me when I would walk in my dorm room after a rough day. Further, students are exposed to A LOT during their college years. Hence, they need a vice!; 3) An eye mask for those times when your roommate has to study late/after you go to bed. Sometimes, even the desk lamps are bothersome if you sleep in darkness; 4) Small crates for stackable extra storage; and 5) Condiments! They ALWAYS come in handy!

Good tips I know you talked about air fresheners but oooh girl what about plug ins for your room I have one at home in my bedroom it smells so good and it makes your dorm room smell good btw use Bath and Body works plug ins with the wall flower device it’s lasts a month before replacing 😊 it’s called Champagne Toast by Bath and Body Works

Tide pods are good depending on the washing machine. At my school tide pods don't work so you have to use detergent. Check with your school!

Ehh depending on your college I don’t know if I’d recommend getting tide pods. My college washers didn’t handle them well and they wouldn’t dissolve right and they’d be stuck to your clothes.

we bought our daughter a portable refridge it helped her alot
1mrtbone im sure it did! spelman doesn’t allow us to have mini fridges in our rooms unless approved for medical reasons but luckily my roommate had one & it help a lot!! :)

you connect the cable cord to the cable outlet and the cable cord goes into your tv lol

Camille Young we’re not allowed to have mini fridges in our room unless approved for medical reasons but we have a kitchen for the dorm and they have a fridge, people just use a fridge locker

Hi! My best friend was just accepted to Spelman and I am so so so proud of her but she also got into a couple of other school. What is something unique Spelman offers that you don’t think other schools do?
I have a question so i’m staying in state for school would you still recommend staying on campus
dorm life is definitely a major part of the college experience but if you can save money by living at home then don't waste more money than you have to. hopefully that helps, its ultimately you and your family's decision :)
