when I went to a collage open day the decor they had in the show rooms were a couple of photos in frames that were small, a colorful pencil cup and a poster. that's it - dorms are not big. realistically the people giving the tour said that if it doesn't fit in a standard suitcase and or a standard school backpack, you probably don't need it. most dorms that I have seen have catering and laundries and libraries so don't bother with the extra stuff.
I've been decluttering for a while now and I still have to go through my clothes again

This was my daughter, bringing everything. I think a lot of it was because of me....all that decor and it wasn't even needed! Yes, the functional items can be a part of your color scheme. Great idea!

I'm moving in September 2nd as a freshman I don't want to bring in a crazy amount of stuff to bad I live 16 mins away from my University so I can go home on weekends and do laundry lol

I’m getting ready to move in at Spelman and your videos are so helpful! They say the beds are twin size but is it regular or large twin? Asking because when my brother went off to college his bed sheets did not fit.
it could be twin or twin xl (they arent all the same beds) but im sure you can tuck in the xl if its too long! :)

Kaelah Charvai I would recommend lofting your bed. This way you have additional space for your instruments. I put my desk, a tv, and a chair under my bed so I think it should fit. Hope this helped
