I know it deviates from its source material a lot, but I personally think this is the best Peter Pan adaptation of any that I've watched. I read the book/play and loved the sense of adventure and I get much the same feeling out of this, somewhat out of place science fiction elements aside, but it is also more dramatic and serious than a lot of adaptations (Hook for example) so I can see why it isn't for everyone. The acting is phenomenal and Rhys Ifans is the perfect Captain Hook. I am a huge fan of villain origin stories and Captain Hook is one of the most classic villains of all, and even if this portrayal of him is untraditional, for me seeing his transition into a villain gives his character more depth, not to mention makes him more terrifying. Honestly, this is so good that I can't watch other adaptations without comparing them to this one. So well done!

Not one that I choose to believe or attach to the actual Peter Pan story. I think I’ll have to make my own to ever believe in one 😂. But this one was still the best out there so far
This version of Hook reminds me of Blackbeard from Pan. A cruel and ruthless pirate who was in love with Peter's mother so he killed Peter's father out of jealousy and was going to destroy the whole fairy kingdom. The only difference is that Blackbeard showed what kind of villain he was while Hook pretended to be a good man while he actually was cruel and ruthless.

I was surprised that the natives played a big part in the story and that's one of the aspects I really liked about it. The lost boys got more screen time than in other adaptations too. For the enjoyment alone, I'd give this series a 7/10.

I watched this when i was in grade six during a very formative period regarding my mental health. It honestly is one of my favorite movies now.
