She also read lips but never learned sign. Mr. Jones reminded me of my Mom, which is why I bring this up. Great actor.
My mom also lost her hearing at an early age to a disease, and never learned to sign, but does lip read also. She received an experimental cochlear implant and now hears about40%.
Transferring harm from his family to school is a major crime. He should have rejected the request, because this is considered harm to others and to society. He was obligated to abandon the satanic spells and replace them with Islamic legal ruqyah.

Holly cow, I do not know what to think about this film story. For starts the Film should be available for Adults only. Just because it is really the way these kind of stuff works.
This movie was way better than I thought it'd be and the ending was genius but very disturbing as I wasn't expecting it. Parents will do whatever it takes to save "their child" no matter the cost.

This movie was excellent! The dynamic between the parents and Kane was very charming, the medium was an extremely interesting character, and even though the ending had a disturbing twist, I found the deal to be very satisfying (I had extremely similar experiences like Kane's when I was growing up in school).

Why she didn't remember what he told her in the tarot card rwadin.beware of doors she opens..i would have renov3d that door asap! She obviously didnt get the message and connection to the door. She could have prevented her sons kidnapping in time!
The film takes time in the beginning to help viewers not only become acquainted with the characters but also care about them and empathize with their struggle in helping their special needs son. If we didn't care about them, the rest of the movie wouldn't be so successful in keeping our interest. I loved the fact that it's a good horror film without any gratuitous gore.
You're right, the beginning of the film does help us relate to each character... but I'm still spending the first hour of the movie wondering, "Who tf names their son Kane? What parent names their son after the first murderer in human history?" (Cain) That's called playing with fire... dont test God.
@@RobloxPlayerOne80I know a lot of kids and adults named Kane. Caine, and so on. It's a fine name. Know a few Damians and Damiens also. Names are just names. No more, no less.

I loved the entire concept, children disappearing, no gore or unnecessary killings, just an actual great example of a parent's love, having to commit such a sacrifice for the promised safety of their own child, awesome idea!
@@griphim The sacrifice was the red door you saw the husband fixing/preparing at the end of the movie. The door was then put into the school were the demon/dark spirit could have access to as many children as it wished. This was the deal in the trade off to get Kane their son back.

You dabble with spirits you already are a pawn. Who are you fooling but your own self at the expense of your birthright? Your soul belongs to God and yet you dabble with spirits of dark. Get out of it. Risking damnation is no joke. 🥺🙋
While you feel that you are helping others out of good, the source that you draw upon in order to do so, is not. Don't use tarot cards, ouija boards, witchcraft, astrology, mediums and such. We shouldn't be conversing with those who have passed on. They are at rest. You could be communicating with something dark pretending to be a person's relative without even realizing it. God doesn't want us to engage in such practices nor should we ask those who do to speak to spirits, foretell the future or cast spells. It's right in the Bible.
One little but great masterpiece! We must teach our children where the line is (that dark door) beyond which bad behavior becomes evil! Neither the school nor the state nor society will do this work for us. And later evil multiplies unstoppable and everyone wonders -- how, why??? At the end of the movie - evil settles where it was born, where it was nurtured the most.
This was an excellent movie all the way through. The acting I thought was good, and the ending is one I did not expect but makes complete sense. It would be interesting if they made a 2nd movie picking up from where this left off. This movie however is complete and does not leave you wondering.
Excellent movie that I saw when it first came out in 2019 and the ending still sticks with me. Every time I come across the movie I always think how far would we go for someone we love? It's one of those movies you come across that sounds okay but then ends up being the reason you like the lesser know horror movies.
@@frankhernandez6883 I live in NYC and the elevator opens right up in my apartment so no door but the first wall you see is a deep red statement wall. Most of my apartment is in soft colors but my living room is bold deep colors. Many say the red at first sight is unsettling, like The Shining. My childhood home had a deep burgundy front door. I'm a firm believer in do not pick something from the street or donated to you because of the negative things it will bring with it to your place, just don't even if you renovate it. Pick it up from the street or forest but leave it in a shed somewhere with other donated, or street junk things away from your place of residence because of what it will invite in
Superstition. Trust God not fables and superstition. ❤ Man-made things are not corporeal but belief in their sentience through superstition is dangerous. Lack of faith in divine protection makes one susceptible through belief in the deceptions of spirits of evil. Belief can create the very thing one believes possible. So in effect you can create Evil by admitting power in a thing. If you are naturally vulnerable anything can be evil, and it can manifest in objects then. Spiritually lacking is a fast track to attacks via entities, unless you guard your mind with God's Word.❤
Surprising ending, I didn't expect that. Good movie, but I thought the psychic part was a bit over acted in the end. Did anyone else notice the mistake with the placement of the door when the young girl first appeared in the house. The door was put at the end of a hallway, but in that scene it was sideways in the hall, when the mother opened the door she had a wall at her back.
Reaching in your pocket and finding maggets is not good. But buying a coat at Goodwill and finding a dried up cut off finger with a wedding band on it is worse.
A lot better than I thought. Great film, good characters, the mum & dad both played well, the spiritual guy was played well, at first i wasn't convinced, because of the way he set out his cards, but eventually, he grew on me. Creepy atmosphere, not too over dramatic, and not many jump scares. All balanced out. Great stuff. I love great haunt movies like that.
The mother was stupid and ignorant of the fact that the Door could be dangerous. I think her belief in “magic”, tarot cards, and probably astrology and the sorcerer’s stone, and the fact that her son is not playing with a “full deck” helps her actions. The father: I’m not sure. 🤔
Sorcery is dabbling in Satanic practice because spirits are very manevelant and easy to draw to ones life via sorcery. She is ignorant yes. Stupid is doing a thing after forewarning. Ignorance is lack of knowledge.❤

Thanks for sharing this great movie! At first I thought poor kids but then I thought nah bullies deserve what they get. Great acting and storyline! Blessings of love and light to all!
Not all of those children were bullies. But even where the bullies were concerned, they still did not deserve an existence of such. They're bullies cause their parents aren't teaching them anything.
@@woodie62 That, or their parents are teaching them the wrong things, or maybe they are even being abused. Many kids who bully get abused at home. I'm not condoning it, obviously, but giving reasons. The bargain those parents made is vile and beyond selfish; it's evil.
@@mermaid_at_heart213 Being one who was bullied by such sweet little cherubs all through grade school up to high school and went home to more sbuse, I LOVED IT! As soon as the evil thing said it had to be children, I got excited and kept saying "the school! the school! I just love happy karmic endings.
I don't agree. No one deserves eternal torment in hell, period. Great movie! They made the choice and had to live with it. I'm not sure I could condemn a bunch of children to hell to save my own child. But then I'm not sure I could condemn my own son to hell to save a bunch of kids I don't know. I'm leaning toward saving a large number rather than one, but it would be INCREDIBLY difficult to give your own son to save the others. I'm not sure if I could judge the parents for doing what they did. The mother should have never insisted on taking the door home!
Okay, I made my choice after deliberating in my earlier comment. As a parent who brought the door home, especially the wife who insisted on it against her husband's objections, I would have to take responsibility for that horrible mistake. Taking responsibility means NOT passing the consequences off on a whole bunch of children who don't deserve it (they don't deserve it even though some of them were bullies). Taking responsibility means the parents taking the consequences of their own son staying where he was. No one deserves eternal torment, but passing it off to a whole bunch of other kids just makes it worse!
Second time thru. The stress of the job falling through is crushing. I know. It was 1990. TEENY town in the Pacific NW during the height of the lumber industry being restricted over some of their practices. The year of the Spotted 🦉 and the Remembered Species Act. My family moved to Oregon based on a promise of a job only to find out the job had fallen through BEFORE WE MOVED. And the church where my dad was going to serve, guy experience knew, and didn't call. I was 18. I tossed my acceptance letters in the trash along with my scholarship. Have my parents my car bought a cheap pickup& took a job. That is another story. I have them half of every pay check. Even my agoraphobic mom faced her fears and went to work. I was so proud of her. My dad worked hard labor, and 12 hour days to take care of us. He deserved a chance to chase his dream. We took a chance, and had a home w/ my grandad if it fell through. The people@ that church, man. Loathed them. My brother could have worked part time, but he didn't want to share his money. I'd have handed him a tent and pointed to the door. He baby sat.
We need a part 2! 🫨🫣 Its interesting, only Kanes parents set out to get thier child back & did a deal w/evil. None the other missing children's parents ever went further to get thier kids back.
where THiS is concerned or something even as remedial as knowing you're supposed not to speak with food in your mouth especially in public many parents do not and will not go above and beyond the absolute bare minimum ...........
It has a degree of "the grudge" style of horror; nothing really grotesque. I think Uriah adds a surprising degree of credibility that the story would lack otherwise.
