Dude, if a psychic told me a door was evil, it was suddenly impossible to remove, and then paint peeled off it like that overnight, you can bet I wouldn't continue waiting until the weekend to do something about it. That's "call into work sick because I have an emergency to deal with" type business. And then Saturday came around and they were STILL like, "nah, this freaky door can wait. I have to go to work."

Moral lesson of this movie is where ever we go to other place doing camping or what ever if we seen things that not belong to us we should not take it. Because we didn't know the things who's belongs to. We should respect also the other creation that we cannot seen in our eyes

    • @jaglinuxmint

exactly, we will never know what that thing underwent and to whom it belonged. Some spirits are very possessive, we can't have their things even though they are dead. The materials will be still favorite to the spirits and if we use them, they will get angry. There are many instances were the spirits of the passed away from the same family have taken revenge on other family members, simply because they took the belongings of the dead.

Many years ago when I was a teenager, one hot summer's night a group of us found a small, locked and heavily studded iron door, set in stone, deep in woodland here in S.W England. We got it open revealing a drop of around 10 feet onto a stone ledge, one by one we descended into the silent darkness, I remember how cool it was compared to the stifling heat above ground. Somebody had a torch and so we followed the underground passage for what seemed like miles until it opened up into a very large cave with a stream flowing through the centre, the acoustics were fantastic! We knew we were in the old mine workings and returned many times afterwards baring the necessary equipment for all night parties! Fast forward some 45 years and sadly to this day I cannot find that door now.

This is a similar situation that my family and I had experienced with some antique dinning room chairs that my mother found in mint condition on the side of a deserted road and loved those chairs that was a perfect fit to our table before quickly experiencing what came attached to them when she had brought them home and during the time that we too were having our home cleansed! With that being said, my mother had to quickly pack them up and take them back to the same location in which she had found them after driving back down that same deserted road and finding that exact same spot, leaving a brief warning note attached to them just in case someone else were to find them as she did! Needless to say, we eventually had to relocate our residence as well for a more peaceful dwelling!! I say this to say that, if there is a belief in Heaven, there is truly a Hell!! You cannot believe in one and not the other!!! Guard your heart and home with all diligence and Stay Blessed 😇

Superstition. Trust God not fables and superstition. ❤ Man-made things are not corporeal but belief in their sentience through superstition is dangerous. Lack of faith in divine protection makes one susceptible through belief in the deceptions of spirits of evil. Belief can create the very thing one believes possible. So in effect you can create Evil by admitting power in a thing. If you are naturally vulnerable anything can be evil, and it can manifest in objects then. Spiritually lacking is a fast track to attacks via entities, unless you guard your mind with God's Word.❤

A lot better than I thought. Great film, good characters, the mum & dad both played well, the spiritual guy was played well, at first i wasn't convinced, because of the way he set out his cards, but eventually, he grew on me.
Creepy atmosphere, not too over dramatic, and not many jump scares. All balanced out. Great stuff. I love great haunt movies like that.

The mother was stupid and ignorant of the fact that the Door could be dangerous. I think her belief in “magic”, tarot cards, and probably astrology and the sorcerer’s stone, and the fact that her son is not playing with a “full deck” helps her actions. The father: I’m not sure. 🤔

Not all of those children were bullies. But even where the bullies were concerned, they still did not deserve an existence of such. They're bullies cause their parents aren't teaching them anything.

I don't agree. No one deserves eternal torment in hell, period. Great movie! They made the choice and had to live with it. I'm not sure I could condemn a bunch of children to hell to save my own child. But then I'm not sure I could condemn my own son to hell to save a bunch of kids I don't know. I'm leaning toward saving a large number rather than one, but it would be INCREDIBLY difficult to give your own son to save the others. I'm not sure if I could judge the parents for doing what they did.
The mother should have never insisted on taking the door home!

    • @bronko7878
      @bronko7878 Год назад +4

Okay, I made my choice after deliberating in my earlier comment. As a parent who brought the door home, especially the wife who insisted on it against her husband's objections, I would have to take responsibility for that horrible mistake. Taking responsibility means NOT passing the consequences off on a whole bunch of children who don't deserve it (they don't deserve it even though some of them were bullies). Taking responsibility means the parents taking the consequences of their own son staying where he was.
No one deserves eternal torment, but passing it off to a whole bunch of other kids just makes it worse!

Second time thru. The stress of the job falling through is crushing. I know.
It was 1990. TEENY town in the Pacific NW during the height of the lumber industry being restricted over some of their practices. The year of the Spotted 🦉 and the Remembered Species Act.
My family moved to Oregon based on a promise of a job only to find out the job had fallen through BEFORE WE MOVED. And the church where my dad was going to serve, guy experience knew, and didn't call.
I was 18. I tossed my acceptance letters in the trash along with my scholarship. Have my parents my car bought a cheap pickup& took a job. That is another story. I have them half of every pay check.
Even my agoraphobic mom faced her fears and went to work. I was so proud of her.
My dad worked hard labor, and 12 hour days to take care of us. He deserved a chance to chase his dream. We took a chance, and had a home w/ my grandad if it fell through.
The people@ that church, man. Loathed them.
My brother could have worked part time, but he didn't want to share his money. I'd have handed him a tent and pointed to the door. He baby sat.

It has a degree of "the grudge" style of horror; nothing really grotesque. I think Uriah adds a surprising degree of credibility that the story would lack otherwise. Very pleased he lived to tell of his adventure considering lone black characters in movies of this genre usually meet their end while saving/helping the others.
