Drugs my ass. Drugs are too weak to inspire the music the Residents make. And Snakefinger, you were a good guitarist with a style all your own. Wish you were still with us and entertaining us.
I believe the same thing happened to him like a year later and he died from a heart attack before he could come back and lay down guitar parts for the Residents' "God in 3 Persons" which came out the following year, '88 I believe.
no shit, homer is the lead vocalist, the residents have always been him, hardy, and jay clem. Then it was "Charles bobuck", hardy, and a revolving guitarist, "charles bobuck" was hardy.
he's on "Suburban Bathers", "Loneliness", "The Talk of Creatures", "Birds in the Trees", etc. on The Commercial Album too and "Bossy" on Fingerprince, and yes "Godsong" as well and "Skratz" on MTR and "Yummy Yummy Yummy" on "Hitler was a Vegetarian" is him, plus "96 Tears" and the voice saying "I know that... it's your party... & you can cry anytime you want to you know it's cool..."
Hardy talking about stoned and wearing headphones. That's actually what made me love The Residents. When I was stoned I heard all the strange unique sounds and melodies that line their tracks. 😁 Particularly Sinister Exaggerator
+BaddaBigBoom Yeah, and I'm pretty sure I also hear him on Skratz. Most songs are sung by Homer Flynn, though. Those two seem to be the most important members of the group. I wonder what the contributions of the others are...
+Nameless Nobody Films Well I know for a fact one session musician was Andy Partridge from xtc and I'm pretty sure Lene Lovich did the vocals on Picnic Boy.
Actually the music itself is the drug - That bird of interviewer got it all wrong - But did anyone else notice how that question pissed Snakefinger off a bit? :)
Well snake finger . Died great loss. To the residents. Snake did Great solo albums. With the residents. On them. To me was A cult band.every thing was cool About then 40 years I've been Listening to them. A nice little Collection. Of lps. My favourite Is DUCK STUB EURO RALPH'S CD. AND ORIGINAL EP OF DUCK STUB. I saw the Resident with Snakefinger high on psychedelics I also was lucky enough to have a pint of beer with Philip L. A loong time ago Snakefinger solo live was a great show Are the Residents a drug-band? Of course they are
I've only just gotten into snakefingers stuff...some of which the Residents and Magic band members collaborated on. He's was absolutely amazing and I'm sad he left us ;(
Rest In Peace Hardy Fox and Snakefinger.
"You play bass with the residents?"
*"No, Guitar actually..."*
Bless them both. Gone, but their legacy (and music) will live on and on. Beautiful voices, both.
Drugs my ass. Drugs are too weak to inspire the music the Residents make. And Snakefinger, you were a good guitarist with a style all your own. Wish you were still with us and entertaining us.
Both of them heroic and seminal - nothing compares to them
R.I.P. HARDY FOX... 2 days ago 22-9-2018
How strange to hear Snakefinger talk about death like that just a short time before his own death.
I wonder if the cigarettes contributed to his demise ?
rip hardy, you were cool as fuck and always nice to me.
I believe the same thing happened to him like a year later and he died from a heart attack before he could come back and lay down guitar parts for the Residents' "God in 3 Persons" which came out the following year, '88 I believe.
well now that i've heard hardy fox's voice, he's DEF in the classic-era residents, for sure heard his voice on fingerprince.
no shit, homer is the lead vocalist, the residents have always been him, hardy, and jay clem. Then it was "Charles bobuck", hardy, and a revolving guitarist, "charles bobuck" was hardy.
I think he might have been the person singing on godsong

"Snake's Sis"
Two legends now gone ...the legend lives on, long may it continue.
A genial interpretation of the song(James Brown),,,stronger than the original, no discussion,
I was at The Mole Show in London :-)
a fuckin awesome version of it's a mans world!
This is awesome, thanks brother.
great video brother46, thank you
"Did you have any drug in mind?"
god hardy is the best. what a sweet man.
Bless you Brother
Actually the music itself is the drug - That bird of interviewer got it all wrong - But did anyone else notice how that question pissed Snakefinger off a bit? :)
Yeah, he seemed a bit cocky
Very cool! Thanks B. :-]
I don't care if they did. I just believe that talent like this is natural. But drugs can help.
god in three person: Flynn, Fox and Lithman

Joe Meek and the Blue men / I Hear I new World are alike part of Residents sound

RIP Hardy Fox
Of course it's not the drugs. And if it is who cares? No artist takes drugs for inspiration, only because they like them.
huge video
This make me feel sad :(
Fucking Super..............
Does anyone know what Hardy is like on stage? Is his norlmacy characteristic of him or is it something that differentiates from his stage presence?
I know this was two years ago, but Hardy’s stage presence usually has him almost shying away in the corner, behind a keyboard or something
Hardy was the sound engineer in later years.
I saw the Resident with Snakefinger high on psychedelics I also was lucky enough to have a pint of beer with Philip L. A loong time ago Snakefinger solo live was a great show
Are the Residents a drug-band? Of course they are
"...the new digital processors" ie. the Emu Sytems Emulator 1 :-) Gorgeous looking though sometimes a bit janky keyboard samplers.
Perhaps Hardy Fox is actually one of the band members...
Snakefinger ruled!
No perhaps about it. It's his voice on the records!
Timmybear
Thanks, man.
Timmybear
Flynn too ?

WormTyrant I think yes
You know what Bill Hicks said about drugs and music?
R.I.P. you gawdamm junky!
Fantastic eh?????!!!!
No se porque, pero algunas cosas en los fraseos de Snakefinger me recuerdan a Robert Fripp
Does any else think Snakesfinger looks like Richard Ramirez?
I see it
A fatal heart conditional and he is smoking? Bummer
Shouldn’t be smoking those fateful ciggs!!
It drives me nuts when people smoke during an interview.
Cocaine's a hell of a drug
Its wierd that they didn't wanna perform live til 82. Alot of their Live performances are better live at least in my opinion.
My Man Fifty Grand !
