      I've been trying to learn Terry go moves specifically his buster wolf but I just cant tell if I'm doing the input wrong or if I'm going to slow. I'm doing the quarter circle x2 but I cant tell if I'm going to slow cause it won't work when I do it it just does his regular powered burning knuckle with green at the end. I just cant get the hang of it. Even the down left down left is hard for me even with power a xbox controller and gamecube controller to. It's hard to input. But I use a power a xbox style Nintendo controller and I just started trying on gamecube controller but I still cant get it with either the quarter circle left times 2 or the down left down left. What do I do?

    Do keep in mind that you don't have to hold all the way down to charge a Rising Tackle. If you tilt your shield too far down your opponent will catch on to what you're trying to do.
    So what you can do instead is tilt it slightly. If you do this right it should be almost indistinguishable from Terry's regular shield animation. If you want to main Terry it'll definitely he worth your time to practice slightly tilting your shield down every time you shield.

    • @Pslamist
      @Pslamist 5 лет назад +15

      Even if you don't play him, it's worth doing for parry shifting, like Gimr talked about-the "hurtbox" of parry doesn't move when you tilt shield, so you can actually get those more consistently shifting your shield away from the hit.

    Unrelated to my previous comment or the video at all, I just want to say that since being announced to be in smash, I’ve kinda fallen in love with terry, some SNK games and a ton of other SNK characters. It makes me really wish that I’d known more about SNK growing up. Also, even though I struggle with ken and Ryu I’m this game, and traditional fighting games in general, I’ve really enjoyed playing terry more than almost any other character, and I’ve really gotten the hang of playing him. Makes me wanna give traditional fighters another chance, starting with fatal fury.

      Fatal Fury games are frustrating but they're a ton of fun, I'd suggest fatal fury 3, fatal fury real bout 1 and 2, and Garou mark of the wolves, if you want to check out some KoF games 97, 98, 2002 UM, are a must, and KoF 14 is probably the most beginner friendly in case you get discouraged and want to stop playing, but really, I feel like SNK games are enjoyable even if you don't get good at them. For anyone who doesn't know there are other shortcuts for the Super Specials, less complex even than the simplified inputs.
    For Power Geyser, you only need to to do ⬇️↙️↘️ + A or B. Cuts out a few inputs, should make this much faster in terms of execution.
    Edit: I am used to SF inputs, so I am rolling the stick. Technically this means the input is ⬇️↙️⬇️↘️ + A/B. Sorry for the confusion.
    For Buster Wolf, you can use ↘️➡️↘️➡️ + A or B. Like with Power Geyser it's faster, but I also found it's easier to cancel F-Tilt into Buster Wolf if you press ↘️ +A to start the F-Tilt and then immediately continue the rest of the command input. That said, you might still need to do the full input normally if you're trying to cancel from a boost pivot F-Tilt.
    The reason these shortcuts work is because the diagonal directions are essentially the same as pressing both directions, for example ↘️ is the same as pressing ⬇️ and ➡️. Using this will basically let you cheese the game's command input requirements.

    • @MrWoodsman
      @MrWoodsman 5 лет назад

      @Grima the Fell Dragon Yeah, Crack Shoot can be rough sometimes. I tend to only use the command input for it, that way it only ever comes out intentionally. Just FYI, if you're off stage and facing away from the ledge, you have to hold ⬅️ for a little bit before pressing B to reverse Crack Shoot (you can't use the command input to reverse it). I don't know exactly how long you have to hold ⬅️, but it's probably close to the charge time for Rising Tackle, so probably 25 frames a.k.a. less than half a second.
      If you wanna get good at special cancels, try labbing Ryu. Jab 1 -> Shoryu is a true 2 hit combo but is very strict on timing. If you practice that and actually get the 2 hit combo consistently, you should find you get much faster at it generally. Most of Terry's normals are much longer in duration than Ryu's, so they're way more forgiving in terms of executing the cancel.
      Edit: Slight correction, KuroganeHammer's posted on Twitter that you only need to hold ⬅️ for 6 frames to reverse Crack Shoot. As long as you hold ⬅️ before pressing B you should be good.

    I know it sounds more convoluted but it made it a lot easier for me to input power geyser by holding down on the analog stick then do a full circle from the back to the front of you, then pressing the a/b button. Hope it helps anybody. And if you wanna do it the opposite direction just go from down to a full circle starting in front of you to the back

    if you don't use tilt stick for tilts you can still easy command inputs out of tilts.
    Just hold the attack button you just pressed; to the stick input; release attack (works with special held too)

    Im gonn say it rn, power getser can be inputted with down back forward, or down quarter circle backward to forward. For power dunk, you can do forward quarter circle down down quarter circle forward and A.

    Hey everyone, Power Geyser can be simplified further to just down, back, and forward. You don't need the extra down input.

    All the inputs can be done during any dodge not just spot dodge. Although it's much easier and more effective to catch the opponent in a direct attack out of spot dodge

    Even though I played some traditional fighting games recently and managed to do these inputs consistently, I find myself somehow missing them in smash. I don't know why, but sometimes I'm just too fast at doing them? I can't be the only one that experienced this.

      Nintendo controllers suck and your character is constantly trying to turn around, but it is not instantaneous. I learned on pad, so using a stick feels bad and I am sure people with arcade sticks feel the same way. And the c stick shenanigans too. It is like, bro...

    I have found to do power explosion you can imput only down left ( if your facing right) then right.... or down back left then right and then for the other one just mashing the joystick down to the left in one motion (like quater circle motion) two times.
