- The Lumix S5!! so much camera for the value. You can buy this body only, for less than A grand 2nd hand. It takes photos and videos equally very well, The full frame sensor gives amazing perspective when paired with the right lens. It is my main weapon of choice when it comes to making RUclips videos. I'm aware that this camera was realised in 2020 making it nearly 3 years old, it asks me the question, Is the Lumix S5 Mark 1 Worth it in 2023? The short answer is yes and I will cover that in greater depth.

I’ve owned this camera since 2020, still use it on every shoot for high paying clients, and have no intention of selling it. Yeah, no AF. But the basic image is slightly BETTER than both the Mk2 cameras.
I am considering buying it in 2024. Where I live it's on sale for 999 including lenses but can't really make a decision yet. Its between a6400 and that one now.
hahah same same same! An a6400 with lens is almost the same. But the a6400 is siting on a 8 year old tech. S5 is like the cheapest full frame with newer tech (apart from AF)
@@jungleboy1 AF improved a lot with the firmware update and it's still getting updates. I actually bought the Lumix S5 just 2 days ago and happy so far. Remember it was 2000 dollars 4 years ago.
The thing i gotta do though is getting an adapter for the lenses as leica lenses are crazy expensive
Thank you it helped me and i bought it. With the kit lens
Nice Job! I am looking to upgrade my camera from my original canon rebel t8i to something better. I was considering this camera, so this video really helped
This was a good video! I didn’t know much about the s5 to be honest. How would you say a camera like this would compare to something like the Fuji X-H1? I currently shoot with a Canon M50 but eventually want to upgrade.
Hey man I’m thanks so much for the feedback!!! Really appreciate it!! After reading the specs of the fuji it is very similar to the s5. Its also cheaper mainly because of its smaller APS C sensor. But fuji also has really good color science and built in presets to simulate film. Take a read into both cameras specs and see which features matter to you more. 😊
I would say full frame will worth it. I came from the Z50 APS-C camera to the S5 and it is day and night. However if you have the money go for the S5II.
I use my S5 as much as my S5II because the S5II has really worse standard profiles, too much sharpening and noise reduction, the first S5 is way better.
I actually didnt know that!!! Flip i must take that into account in the future
The camera uses a lot of noise reduction? Omg. I tought the image was clean because The sensor was better. The A7iv has a lot of noise in low light situations omg
@@arthurlbn yeah it seems to be present in the darker areas
@@arthurlbn No, the S5II has even more chroma noise reduction than the A7IV with the standard profiles, big disappointment. The image from the S1/S5 is much better with the standard profiles and slighter better on V-Log.
@@maximusprime49yeah. Its terrible has a Professional câmera that makes wrost image than a smartphone in low light, i hate Sony because of that. The images that came from The s5 and canon eos r6 mkii its amazing in high ISO. Even using noise reduction, The image from S5 is amazing
Hey brother , does LUMIX s5 has a heating problem with yours ? I am facing issue in my lumix s5 . Is there any solution . Please help me .
do you face iso noise while shooting v log even if you use f1.8 lumix prime
Lowest noise is at 640 iso
What is the lens you used for those macro shot? the bubbles and leaf shot
For the bubbles I used the helios 44-2 which I have a review on. And for the leaf shot I used the 12-60 kit lens.
@@maximusprime49 you mean the 20-60mm?
btw you helios is really round bokeh i thought i will be like cat eye
@@maxie6990 20-60 yes I got mixed up with another mft lens for a second. And yeah it came out oddly round I think It was maybe because I had it around f/5.6
