So today, 12 May, 2022, I took my Ducati Sled across some territory of rocky dirt roads dropping into the San Pedro river. Then up to Middlemarch Road from Benson to Tombstone and into Pierce through the Dragoon Mtns. Looks like youse guys had more fun than I did today, but you had what: one week or two? Good on yea...
Hey guys you are awesome for doing such a great video and sharing it for everyone to use. You even give up the gps tracks- fantastic! Very well done, thanks!
Excellent compilation of your trip with great footage of technical sections and very helpful to offer alternate routes for those of us who are still polishing our off - road skills. Drone really enhances the perspective. Awesome job and just received some items from you - in record time - tire and tools. Thanks!
+Rocky Mountain ATV MC "Transitions" model? If so, it's fabric but not specifically mesh only by looks and description. Is RMATVMC thinking of offering your BB gear in Hi-Viz?
osimnod That Tourmaster gear is one of their older models, like 6 years old or so? I'd have to guess it was the Transitions series line? With our Battle Born gear there is always a chance of going Hi-Viz.. but at the moment no.
Great ride guys, 3 of my buddies and me are doing half of Baja in April, we are all new dirt riders and have crf’s 250/300 rallies, I wanted to know your recommendations on tires we are gonna hit the same amount of dirt as well as tarmac approx 1000 miles , hope to hear from you, thanx
Wow, great video guys! Very well done. I loved seeing a Gen 1 KLR in the mix there too.I met Ray a few years ago and he mentioned that he was impressed with the KTM 990. It looks like he took the plunge and got the 1190. Congrats on the new bike Ray.Keep up the good work.
Well done guys!! loved this video, the footage is amazing. Really loved how you describe the logistics and glad you shared them. Justin great job narrating. Would like to see more like these, thumbs up for RM rides. will be checking the blog now.
Wonderful video! How would a KTM 350 EXC-F do, if I set it up for adventure riding (larger tank, re-gearing, steering stabilizer, etc...)? I realize on pavement it won't do as well as the bigger bikes, but I would assume gearing it to do 65-70mph on the highway would help. Just curious if any of you guys have had a similar bike to this on the trips you've done. Thanks!
Out of all of the bikes on this trip, which would you say was the best, considering trail and long road riding for this adventure? I'm mainly considering the DRZ400S vs. the WR250R and my head is stuck in the proverbial indecision loop. I'm open to any other bike though.
The 690 is the better bike overall, but it costs a lot more. The WR250R is not going to be nearly as fast on the road. In real tight technical stuff it will be better, but the 690 is pretty impressive almost everywhere.
Please keep making videos like these! If you had to pick one bike out of your fleet for this loop which would it be? I just beginning my ADV adventures and am learning a lot from all the information y’all are providing. Thank you.
Hey, 10+ years of adventure biking here. First, look at the terrain you want to ride on, or what's around you. Is it super Rocky or snowy? If so you want a lighter bike, in the 250-400 range. If it's more like a flat "dirt highway" you can get away with a much heavier bike, like a KLR650.
Great video! Nice group of bikes and riders. Wonder what bike you would choose if you did the same trip but started on the bike in Michigan and had no trailer, there or back? Have a great holiday season!
QUESTION? What speed do you guys usually maintain on the highway? And what size front sprocket are the 690's running? I was thinking about downsizing to a 14 front. Thanks, love your site and videos!
Wow you guys did an excellent job on this one! No lie, after the last ride I looked at some of this footage and thought, "Oye I'd have probably broken something on that!" Very cool of you to include the alternate routes. I'll have to give this ride a shot one of these days! Be honest, though... how did the guys on KLRs do? Haha probably better than I would! ;)
+eveRide ADV They all did really good. For our video guy Josh, it was his first time on an adventure ride, as well as first time ever on an adventure bike and he was on the KLR. Besides having the tip over on the A-loop, he loved riding the KLR throughout the entire ride.
this was really well done and I really enjoyed it! I hope there are more to come! only question I have is, assuming you all ride together often and sometimes ride each other's bikes- what do the WR250R owners think of the 690 and 690 owners think of the WR250R? I'm debating on these 2 since they (to me at least) are direct competitors with slight disparities in price (used vs used). thanks for the video and guides as always!
no doubt the 690 is a better all around bike, but it comes with a much bigger price tag. Off road, both bikes do great. surprisingly the 690 (being bigger and heavier) does better in the sand. One you hit the highway, the WR will struggle to keep the speeds that are easy for the 690. the downside to the 690 is fuel capacity. both bikes need bigger tanks to be good adventure bikes, but an IMS for the WR is fairly inexpensive. Any aftermarket tank for the 690 will cost you much more! so.... both are great. If price isn't an issue, the 690 is the bike! If highway speed isn't an issue and price is, WR all the way.
No argument there, but I'm a local in Vegas so it is irritating that the fees grow every year while the water lines and facilities deteriorate. I recently spent five days near Duck Creek, UT and paid only for the campsite, all other attractions were free of charge and were very well maintained. With my rant over, I must say you folks did an amazing job on the trip. Amazing footage plus you even tracked the routes. I may have to follow this one day.
Please make more these rides are amazing. Can't wait to do them all. You guys are basically making better brds🤣
Heck yeah, thanks rm rides. I am doing a version of this in two weeks!
👍....again, plus the tracks? Its AWESOME-ORAMA! Forever thanks
Awesome. Plus the gps download !!!!!!
Excellent video. Thanks for sharing. Looks like a great ride.
Good video and drone shots with all the different trails was done very well. Thank you guys.
Much appreciated, Jon!

An amazingly well thought out trip.

You're very welcome! We want everyone to go out and have the same experience we did. Very fun ride!
Hey guys... Great video. you guys should definitely do more of these!
This looks like such an amazing ride!
...excellent, informative video, nicely done! Such excellent drone footage as well, really added to the sense of the place & experience
Thank you! We're glad you enjoyed the video. You'll even enjoy the ride much much better! :)

Really cool to hear! Thanks, we're glad you enjoyed the footage. It's a really fun route to take!
+Rocky Mountain ATV MC I meant to ask, what brand of gear was the rider wearing in all Hi-Viz? Really appreciate how that sticks out.
+osimnod Tourmaster is the brand.

he loves the 1190, and though it does do well off-road, it can be a handful in the deep sand and real technical stuff.
Great trip
Appreciate all the work you guys put into this. Added to my list for 2017
Wonderful video and very well documented. Will be planning this trip for sure!
Thank you. You will have a blast!
Love it. Well done!
Enjoyed the video-thanks.
Anytime.. thanks for watching!
beautiful video. big thumbs up.
Thanks! ☻
Thx
Nicely done

What action cameras were you using? GoPro (insert model)?
*GoPro Hero 5*
Nice mvie. Greetig from Patagonia Argentina
Saludos Gaucho! Gracias por ver nuestro video. me alegro :)
@@rmatvmc videos en español por favor!!!!!
Great video and record of logistics!!!
Generally,.. what is the best month to do this?
(Not a fan of high heat)
February was great, but did get cold at night. I would say feb-april and oct-nov. just watch the weather!
QUESTION? What speed do you guys usually maintain on the highway? And what size front sprocket are the 690's running? I was thinking about downsizing to a 14 front. Thanks, love your site and videos!
We try to stick to the speed limit of course:) The 690's are running stock gearing and we like it.

No, you would have done great. You just would have said "BRENNNTTTT" on the way to the ground. :)

Yeah Josh is a great rider! And he's also very good at pushing KLRs through sand... specifically my KLR ;)
eveRide ADV Haha! There was some deep soupy sand in your ADV ersity video. :)
Sounds like a winter time ride, I'm game. I think two days is all it would take.
Amazing stuff - appreciate the sharing !!!
You guys R O C K !!!
Old post, long dead web page with GPX files but I am trying to get them. Anyone have the GPX files for this ride? Thanks for any help.
Feel free to email info@rmrides.com and let us know which ride you are looking for the GPS files on and we'd be happy to send them to you!
this was really well done and I really enjoyed it! I hope there are more to come!

We rode this and for the entire trip I thought the pun was “hooked on a feeling” that dumb song from the 70s
wr 250?
So,....What were the "BIGGEST lessons learned", on this trip?!....
$15 to use a road?
Yes, It's a National Park Road
Ok makes sense now. Thanks
Tray Muse Yea you bet. Hope you liked the video!
Of course!
$80 will get you a parks pass that is good at all National Parks for one year.
I need a bigger gas tank on my drz.
Moral of the story...dont bring the friend that rides the 1190
$15? What a joke! Lake Mead is drying up by the day. Basically no decent place to launch a boat or running water in restrooms.
Christmas tree pass road is very nice really.
yeah, seemed steep to use the road, but in the grand scheme of things the cost of the trip is really quite low. It is a real pretty drive, too!

I see where you're coming from. You definitely won't be disappointed on this route! It's a variety pack of trails with lots of flavor and skill :)
boooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
great video! thanks for sharing, that is the kind of ride I want to go on someday. was there a gen 1 klr in there?
Hey thanks! ..and KLR? ..It most certainly was! lol
