Great review sir :) But also the lights man! How the 37 has the ones that light up above their corresponding key whenever a key is triggered are also a nice additional touch... cuz for some strange reason, us electronic folk sure do love our gear to be lit up with moving lights like UFO's 🤷‍♂️

    • @DopamineOverload

@@FreeBeat Pretty major! I love 'em. :) I sold my original KS for like $120 before the prices jacked up, and got the 37 for only $170. I thought it was a bargain, considering the extra stuff!

Sequencer lights have major functions, one of the bigger updates from original keystep.

One significant difference is the 37 won't run off of iphone bus power. Could be a non issue for many people, but for those that may want to use their iphone as a super convenient and portable sound source, its worth noting.

Dude, I have to give you serious props for your video style. A lot of my favorite music RUclips reviewers take a full hour to tell me what I need to know. You didn’t waste anyone’s time droning on about “the obvious.” I am personal friends with the biggest music personalities. And I would never tell them that I know exactly what they’re doing. BUT, what they are cleverly doing by taking 4 minutes to show you how to work an arpeggiator is increasing their video time in order to increase monetization. I honestly love these guys and I hope they make as much money as possible through this platform. But it’s refreshing to get a brief cliff notes version through you. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

Thanks so much! As the channel has grown it's been harder and harder not to give more of an intro for videos, but I do try to keep everything tight, concise and focused on the topic at hand for the most part!

I wish this video of a direct comparison between the two models had existed when I was shopping for a midi controller keyboard! After some research, I decided that the regular Keystep is adequate enough for my workflow. But a video like this would have made my decision a little easier, less time consuming.

what I really need to know is if you can overdub on the keystep 37 or keystep pro..? ..what I mean is after you record a sequence can you add additional notes without erasing the existing notes that were already recorded..? ..I have a keystep and beatstep pro but I really need this overdub feature..
thanks for a response in advance..

The only downside to the 37 is that it needs more power the f.e. The op-z can provide that’s why I use a power bank with mine.
Extra keys and chord mode are worth it tough
