Awesome! You posted this 9 years ago and you are still helping people today! I have to paint a picnic table and will use this idea to get between the slats! Thank you!

Another thing I discovered. You can also go to a craft store and get smaller paint brushes that can reach into tight crevices!

I fit in the same category as everyone else, frustrated and tired and found this life changing video. I purchased a window squeegee, removed the blade and had a toothed clamp to hold the pad and go on the end of a pole. No more kneeling!

2:00, 8/24/2024. You just solved my problem. I painted my new deck today and couldn't figure how to get a paint brush between the slats. Amazing, here you come with the answer. God is good. Thanks for the video.

You should change your name to THE GENIUS!!!!
Thank you for sharing this you just saved me about 8 hours of frustration and jamming a paint brush between my deck boards. I just tried this and completed twice as much square footage in about a 1/4 of the time it took me with a brush. After spending 3 hours this morning of doing that I said there has to be a better way and checked youtube and found your video. I would nominate you for the Nobel peace prize if I could!!!!!

Thank you so much for this video!!! It saved me HOURS (and probably my sanity)! My wife started on one side of our deck with a brush and I started on the other side with the "edger" pad. I completed the painting between 16 slates in the time she did 2! My boards weren't far enough apart to use two pads together but it was so easy even just using one! This method is genius! I truly appreciate you putting this video up!!!

I am faced with this issue on a job right now and I had a notion. So, I pulled up one YT video.... yours, to assess other ideas. LOL. You had the same idea. Yet, I didn't think about folding the pad over or going back to back. Tomorrow, I'll give it a go. The amount of square footage on 3 decks, ugh. Thank god for hourly wages.

This works great. I stuck the 2 pads together (hard sides together) with double sided tape. I also inserted a paint stir stick between the 2 pads, again using double sided tape. Its working fabulously! I may have to redo the double sided tape after washing out the pads, but that's a small price to pay!

ditto, ditto, ditto on what jAb said!!! Wish I'd seen this video earlier when I did smaller deck. Just finished 2nd bigger 43'X12' deck. I couldn't have finished it this soon if I didn't see your video! Genius!!! After so much frustration and a number of destroyed brushes, I too thought other people must have this same problem and checked the internet and tried your replacement pad idea and I could not believe how easy and quick it was to apply the Deck-Over between the boards and that darn little pad even covered better than a brush! And it took me less than half the time to do a small section that took me 3 hours with a brush! You are my hero, Kerf!!! Can't thank you enough for your video!!!

Thank you for taking the time to post this. I put the first coat on my decking boards and suddenly was able to see the uncoated cracks and realized I was going to have to paint in there. Started to paint in the cracks with a paint brush before putting the second coat on the decking. Spent about ten minutes with a brush and thought "there's gotta be a better/easier way to do this." Searched youtube and your video came up first. Heading to home depot to get some of those paint pads first thing in the morning. Thanks again.
