It’s most known for its use in the third season (TRY) of the anime franchise “The Slayers”, meaning that unless the creator of the game stumbled along the sound clip, they were likely a fan of “The Slayers”!!
1:02:04 if anyone else was curious if it's truly impossible to beat this level, it is. i checked other games from the same people and in those ones your projectiles actually has physics applied to it, so if you shoot it up in the air you can have it curve back down and hit the target from above. they either forgot to apply the physics in this one or the projectile is simply too fast for it to matter

Bionicle woman here. The flash game wayne played is a side story set during the Web Of Shadows arc of Bionicle, which takes place before the 2001-2003 story. Basically, after finding the island of Mata Nui, the Toa Metru return to their home of Metru Nui to retrieve a bunch of spheres containing the Matoran, only to find the whole city overrun by spiders called the Visorak before being mutated by the Visoraks' mutagenic venom. Bailed out by former toa-turned-mutants known as the Rahaga, the Toa were sent off to retrieve fragments of an item known as the Makoki Stone (which we previously saw back in 2001 as the item the Toa Mata collected to access the passage to Makuta's lair.) They do this to retrieve the Mask of Light which the Rahaga had squirreled away. Onewa, the toa of stone, would then go on to encase it in a stone idol that they would take with them back to Mata Nui after all their business in Metru Nui was said and done, and with the Mask of Light secured, the stage was set for the Seventh Toa to one day discover himself and lead the matoran and toa-come-turaga back to their homeland.
