Some Maids said that the reason that they hide their faces from camera's out on the street. Is that the cafe can charge for photos once in the cafe. Which made sense as opposed to any other reason. Must be hard work making polite conversation with customers and singing and dancing and preparing things. Great fun seeing inside a cafe.

I hate how robotic and overly formal Japanese customer service is. It is so cold. I've lived here 6 years, and the idea here that service is good is probably the 2nd biggest foreign misconception of Japan. I had watched a clip about Tokyo Nightlife and I see no difference of that city than from what any other worldwide city has to offer. I'm thinking of visiting Tokyo in a few years time and that 'living in the 1980s' vibe is part of the attraction for me.
