Not meaning to be that dude, but they play in Drop C# not standard, so the rest of the guitar would be a whole step higher than the low E.
They would play it in e flat, they use drop C#

To be honest C# is THE metal tuninh, like every song sounds soo brutal, heavy af but still not too low, its literally the perfect metal guitar tuning. Like literally every C# version of a metal song i thought „Damn this sounds even better than the original“
With the lower tuning, it almost reminds me of a faster stoner metal or The Sword

While the music sounds good , the vocals aren't a good match . There's a reason bands tune a certain way , and the vocals are IT . The tension is palpable in this version . It's like fighting to be upfront and center of attention instead of working together .
Sounds basically the same... great proof that tuning isn't nearly as important for heaviness as guitar tone and EQ. Rust in Peace sounds great but the guitar tones are anything but heavy...
As a huge fan of downtuned guitars and even bigger fan of obnoxiously downtuned guitars, I can say confidently they Megadeth sounds better in E standard tuning. The intricacies of the pick work are more suited by the clarity provided by the higher (or I guess “normal”) tuning.
D# is the sweet spot for most thrash metal
