I actually had a metallica tape stuck in a car I had when I was 16. It played at like half speed and way low tuning. It was fuckin badass until I heard the standard tuned songs on the radio. It ruined them haha
HA, I had that happen with my fancy fold out CD deck (broke). Only difference was I had 1st Garage Inc album jammed in there. Played in my car for a couple years.
My jaw absolutely dropped hearing the harmony between the bass and the guitar in the intro. I don't know if it's there in the original recording or if you added it, but Jesus dude. That had my skin crawling. Audio wizardry. Rock on.
finals start tomorrow for me and i overall just have a lot of stress to try and deal with rn. this was released at the perfect time to help me deal with it all. thanks for posting
The Thing That Should Not Be would be insanely heavy in this tuning (considering the dropped D would be down to an A). Leper Messiah would also sound heavy AF.
That song already seems low and full of bass. Would sound killer I'd bet. Worth cranking up my system, instead of just cell phone speakers (stereo at least) 😂😂😂
@@jordynpenner9105 well in a lot of these detuning videos I’ve listened to, the mixing gets muddied and you can’t hear certain things clearly. This one in particular is MILES above others I’ve seen
this, somehow, has a Carcass vibe. not because the tune (it contributes), but I think if the vocals were raspier, this would give a jeff walker vibe 100%
I think this is a great example of how low tunings doesn’t always mean heavier/better. Especially when the vocals start. This tuning does not serve the song well. I am not saying down tubing is bad. I am just saying down tuning isn’t the end all be all of heavy metal.
Right, I need to do the YMCA dance to this song while in My Michael Jackson suit! If I don't, I won't EVER be as Metal as can be, like You people here! Please!!! I need emotional family support from You all for when I get through to the next round on The X Factor with that sad Ed Sheeran music playing!
I'm just specifying because I don't want F1 to be confused with F2, F1 is one whole step above bass tuning, F2 is one whole step above standard tuning for your average 6 stringed guitar.

this is how metallica sounds to non-metal people

Right 😂😂😂
Not entirely sure i understand what you mean but i feel obligated to agree with you for some reason.
@@breadwhithoutbutter2382 I mean that for people who don’t listen to metal music, Metallica sounds heavier than they reallly are.

The bass in b tuning sounds so evil 🤘
True
Not only am I enjoying it so are my neighbors 😂😂😂
🤟🤟🤟
This cassette was stuck in my truck tape player in 86 for a few months. It’s all I could listen too. I didn’t mind 😂
Imagine if it was stuck in there in B Standard tuning tho
Coincidentally, this is what that tape probably sounds like now 😂

Eye of the Beholder tuned down would absolutely slap
Agreed
Death Magnetic in any tuning especially All nightmare long
Ugh stop using words like sLaP and BaNgEr for GOOD music. Leave it to describe the same generation of garbage music that the words were conceived in

Metal Militia in B tuning would be dope asf

This tuning goes hard af, would love to hear AJFA in this tuning
I love how preserved the detuning is, it doesn't sound muddy and muffled like pitching down usually does, well done. This rips.

I like these downtunings, but this might be just a little too low. James sounds like a Decepticon.
That hits harder than sabaton cover and original 🔥🔥🔥
When the riff enters sounds like Dethklok... 👀🤘
Holy shit!! It sounds like there is a message from the devil himself in the bass intro 😂
🤣fr
Gaaaahhhhhh. James sounds like he could swallow your soul....👀👀👀
I just found my favorite thing to play with the B-string on my 5 string bass
Cliff is headbanging to this in heaven!
Don’t stop man. I like every your video. Nice job❤
Disposable hero’s in c# would be kinda crazy
*Heroes
Finally, a metallica song with a seventh string
not necessarily xD
Not exactly. But I can see what you’re getting at. Lol.

an extra B string keeps the natural tunning, as god intended 😂

thought a train was coming. fantastic work B tune 🤣🤣. Love to play that song on guitar. a master piece from Metallica!
This is brutal!😮
I felt the same dopamine release that I had when I first listened to the original version 22 years ago. OH MY, THAT BASS from 0:41 .......BRUH!!!!

Sounds more like its in C instead of B
The original recording of this song was sped up roughly a semitone higher from E to F, so same thing here just generally lower 😅
0:58 slow down to 0.75 speed
I can never get over how flat and monotone vocals sound in B tuning 😂
