Canon expert Jon Lorentz gives some tips on architectural and landscape photography using Canon tilt-shift lenses. For more information, please visit: Canon.us/95dp5
Nice. Do you still use these? Please include a link to some of your work if you can. I'm curious to see how you've used it for the interior architecture.
One of those lenses which I would very much love to own to do my own experimentation with, but sadly only get to use on occasion when renting for specific projects.
I use canon and Sony. Canon for photography and this is going to help with my product photography. Sony colours work well with indian skintones, which is predominantly in the spectrum of wheatish to brown. A very "Horses for courses" approach.
I own the following Canon TS-E lenses: 17mm, 24mm, and 45mm. My case also includes a Schneider 28mm shift lens. To obtain a 35mm vertical shift effect, I use my Canon 24mm TS-E with my Canon 1.4X. To assist my interior commercial photography assignments, I would LOVE to have a dedicated Canon 35mm TS-E. Is that lens on Canon’s drawing board?
johan bauwens Thank you for letting anyone know that. Luckily there are 17, 24, 50, 90 and 135 mm tilt shift lenses from Canon so everyone can pick the TSE lens he likes to use for his style of architecture, landscape, portraiture or macro and product photography...
Hi, Mark! Canon tilt-shift lenses work on all EF-mount cameras. This includes such recent models as the EOS Rebel series, the EOS 90D, and our line of full-frame DSLRs. These lenses will also work on our mirrorless EOS cameras when paired with the right mount adapter. Hope this helps!
Hi there! Tilt-Shift lenses change perspective and focus in an image by tilting and shifting relative to the camera body. Lowering the height of a tripod would move the camera and lens together, likely not resulting in the sought after corrections to perspective and focus. We hope this helps!
By lowering the tripd you gt a slightly different perspective. The clue with ts lenses is, that you don´t move the sensor. You get on a 24 mp camera 3 Photos stitched with a size of more than 60 million pixels. 3 stitched 24 mm photos create a Panorama like photo without any distortions.
Hi, Loraine! Yes, you can use tilt-shift lenses on EOS DSLR cameras that use APS-C sensors in addition to cameras with full-frame sensors. Hope this helps!
@@fishhisy you can buy version one tilt shift from Ebay for 25% the cost. I just got a 90mm tilt shift from a seller on Amazon for $450. Bit less function than the latest 90mm, but still darn good.
Shadowwalker0408 Because you would need a tripod half as high as the building to get the lines straight and increasing the height of the camera changes the perspective completely.
@Florian so you saying that if you move the lens 2 cm up lines are straight but if you move the entire camera 2 cm up will not do nothing because you need a half the size of building tripod?
Hi Praveen! The advantage is being able to tilt or shift the lens alone relative to the focal / sensor plane to correct for perspective. Tilting and shifting the camera wouldn't only tilt and shift the lens, but the sensor too. We hope this explanation helps!
CanonUSA, I understand Theoretically, But What's The Difference in Reality. Please Give link of Photos . Which Shows The Difference. Or make Video if Possible. & Thanks for the Reply ☺️
Praveen Kumar - They showed photos in the video that display the difference. Like, the whole video is exactly what you asked for. Maybe when you and Harold get back from White Castle you can watch it again.
I do architecture and interior photography. The 24 tilt shift lens is by far the best investment I have made. I use it 9 times out of 10.

@2:49 skipped a heart-beat.
me too
haha same.
same, wow, I would never do that without some strap
Same, jesus christ
i got a slight heart attack at 2:48

Canon Tilt shift lenses are quite useful for architectural and product photography, we have many photographers who love renting them in Mumbai
Are these weather proof ?
Jeff from New York proud owner of a 4670K no

I think using crop mode on my Canon 5DS with a 24mm TS-E may offer what the 35mm may do.
I wouldn't use a 135 mm for buildings

The 135 mm is probably best suited for product photography. A 24 mm ts acts like a 15 mm 'normal' lens
I should seriously consider getting an TSE 24mm to play around with
Try to implement in camera stabilization at first....
on a full frame
2:48 I hope he doesn't drop that camera! *boo!*
And the photo was horrible. Not worth the risk.
How very good 👏👏👏👏
I have a FD 35mm TS lens...Can I use it with my Sony A7II with just a fd adaptor, or I need to use a special t/s adaptor? thanks
Just adapt it bro
can i use your video in my RUclips channel
can someone tell me the name of the tripod used?
Hi Arjit! In this video, Jon is using an E-Image 7060H Fluid Head. We hope this helps!
CanonUSA lovely... Thanks canon. Love you always
Any comments on using these lens with sensors other than full frame?

Can't you just lower the height of the tripod?

Would these be usable on the crop sensor cameras?

Dear canon, i wish i can afford your lenses. I'm broke as af but i love love love canon cameras and lenses.
Kirsty H why should they care.

Have you thought about getting a job?
I want it but I don’t think I have enough organs to sell to buy one. One 1 shall dream right?
I am taking a class in Optics which brought me here.
Super idea canon
。。。。
Price?
Hi Zisan! For current pricing here in the US, head on over to the Canon Online Store at Canon.us/8urgn We hope this helps!
hehe, not cheap.
$1,000,000,000,000,000,000
Yes
why don't you just move/ increase the height of the tripod?
Shadowwalker0408
Because you would need a tripod half as high as the building to get the lines straight and increasing the height of the camera changes the perspective completely.
are you dumb? How can you increase the size of a tripod when a building may be 60 feet tall? Get a 30 foot tripod
@Florian so you saying that if you move the lens 2 cm up lines are straight but if you move the entire camera 2 cm up will not do nothing because you need a half the size of building tripod?
I have bad eyes and I can't shoot without glasses with my 5D mk4. My glasses gets foggy when i look through viewfinder.
Belgutei Boldbaatar did u adjust the tiny dial at the corner of your viewfinder?
Nect lens (for Nikon) should be a tilt-shift macro. 😱😱
How much in PHILIPPINES pls reply me thanks
The 24mm one is around 115K
got me choking right there honey
Still Not Worth
Why not just frekin move!?
Talha Khokhar: In many cases, that's not possible.
We can do All this By Tilting & Shifting the Camera.
So why this lense ?
