I'm a senior in good health who has had a knee replacement. I bought a foam mattress and a metal platform frame designed to fit but didn't exactly fit. I had my son, an attorney, write a letter to Amazon. The result is they sent someone to take it away along with the separate frame, and the only thing I had to do was open the door and let them in the house.
I personally haven’t return an online mattress and finding slumber yard I’m sure I will choose something without ever returning. With the knowledge you guys provide us
I bought a mattress 5 days ago , just got it delivered yesterday. Today, same mattress is marked down almost $200! I called the company for price adjustment. I was thinking to return the mattress if they refuse the price adjustment. I was so stressed though because I didn't know how the return process works. Now I know and I feel better. Thanks for this very informative and funny video! I subscribed!
I attempted to return a bed to a local mattress store after about 10 months of use it was developing a crater in the middle and even though it was under warranty they wouldn’t accept it.. I just cut my losses because I don’t like confrontation.
Several years ago, I had the nightmarish experience of returning a bed and its not as easy as they make it out to seem. The bed was forming 2 separate depressions where my wife and i slept. I had to notify the place of purchase and then manufacturer. They wanted me to continue using the bed and said they would inspect the mattress. After 2 months, the depressions were noticeable and creating pain. Some bozo with fishing line and small weights places them on the bed and says its not defective. The difference between 1.5 oz line and a 200+ lb, 6'2 man is vast. Argument ensued and I landed up donating the bed and getting a mattress from Costco. Filed complaint with BBB in NYC and only then did I get a response. No resolution however. Hopefully its changed since the years have passed. I hope! I dare say I haven't purchased online, for fear of having the same issue.
My cousin lives in Seattle. She has bought and tried to return two beds in boxes. Both of the companies told her to just keep it and donate it or use it in a guest room. Neither of them offered to have anyone come pick it up. She thought she could drop it at Goodwill, but they don't take mattresses, so she has two huge mattresses in her garage right now.
I’ve never had any experience with returning an online mattress, but appreciate the valuable tips on how to handle that process should I have to in the future!
Don't do it!!!! They claim that mine is "firm" but it is so soft there is NO WAY anyone can say it is firm--their answer "It's different for everyone" but when you get on it and sink in, it is not firm. So now at age 73 I have to find a plastic bag myself to fit the mattress and then find a shop vac which I don't have, to suck it up myself and return it. Honestly this is a night mare.
I always thought the return policy was going to be such a laborious procedure and people would rather just keep the mattress instead of going through the process. Now that I know I might actually commit to purchasing
I’m hoping that I won’t need to return a bed in the future as I would love to get a bed that best fits my sleeping preference and is very comfortable. However if I do, this video will certainly help me with the process. Thanks JD and the slumber squad!
Have you ever had any experience with returning an online mattress? Yes, just once!. I returned a BB Signature. The process was seamless. Per BB's instructions, donated mattress to a qualified charity, provided a receipt to BB when mattress was picked up and received a prompt refund.
I have not ever returned an online mattress or have I returned pretty much anything. But it is good to know that if I ever need to return a mattress I do not need to find a way to re-box it into the original packaging.
My Girlfriend an I tried to put the mattress back in the box unsuccessfully. We used ratchet straps to try and get it to shrink enough to start in the box. Once it stsrted i took the strap loose . Box explodes lol. Thx for the info frfr
Recently did the ordeal myself this last week, and wow...I did do the vaccume sealing, that kind of is the main trick here. Tho, was interesting trying to do alone. Duct taped the vaccume hose to the hole thingy, while I walked, hopped slid, rolled, bounced, jumped, scooted, all up and down the memory foam mattress as it flattened back down to a pancake, like 2inches maybe thick, a 12 inch, to 2, that was cool to watch. Then folded in half, then folded once more and rolled it up best I could, thennn the fun part, my knott skills came in handy once again, made my truckers hitch knott and tightened it down little by little, weew, yeah, this process was comparable to stuffing my 160lb heavy bag. It was worth it though, crappy memory foam mattress from walmart i dearly regretted wasted my time purchasing, and returning, but got my money fully refunded. I had a scheduled pick up, and it didn't come. I waited till next day, then called and they then said nope gotta bring it into a walmart store. So wtv, I figured it out, gotta do what ya gotta do, 200$ as a single Mama here and that's alot for me and my kiddo right before school starts. a lesson learned but luckily no money lost :) but just so yall do know, it is possible.
Researched a Purple. Their website suggests trying it out at several different stores so I went to Mattress Firm to try. I liked it and bought it there. Turns out the Mattress was awful for my back. I went to return it through Purple but they won't take back mattresses from one's bought at "3rd party retailers ". Mattress Firm wanted a total of $1600 to return and delivery the next level of Purple Mattress. Very misleading and crummy
I am trying to return a Nectar mattress (for which they charged me $760) and it's been a nightmare. They have asked ridiculous photos and even one with a weight test. Not sure what to do at this point... All i can say is DO NOT BUY A NECTAR MATTRESS. IT'S NOT EASY TO RETURN THEM!
Hilarious 😂 This definitely helped. I was up last night after the 1st 1/2 night sleeping on my new bed with lower back pain (way too soft) 😢 and I waited 72 hrs 🤨 I was also @ 4AM thinking how in the world am I going to return it. It was supposed to be medium firm, smh. I have no words. First and last time buying a mattress online! 😠
@manashripatel1419 pretty efficient. I didn't open the package fully. It was a full size frame that was too heavy for me to carry up my stairs, alone. So I requested the refund and they sent people to pick it up from my porch. Then, I received the full amount back to my card.
Thanks for the info… glad I saw this video before possibly being in the scenario where I may think of trying to shove a damn mattress back into a 4 ft box. LOL …. People who really do these things are those who bring entertainment to the world haha
Giveaway: I have had to return 2 mattresses in my life and both of them cost money to return and it was a pain and took forever :( I think even after doing as much research as possible its still taking a chance by ordering any mattress either a bed in a box or one from a mattress tore because you just dont know until you have slept on them for awhile. Hoping i never have to go through that process again.
Watching for the giveaway. If I got a better mattress than I have now I would never have to worry about returning it. Anything would be better than what I'm sleeping on now. Thank you for your great videos! Happy Labor Day!!
He didnt even answer the most most important question...HOW THE HELL DO YOU RETURN IT IF YOU CANT GET IT IN THE BOX!!! This was all the info you can easily find yourself but nothing actually useful. Im tired of you tube being polluted with useless crap like this.
I have not had to return an online mattress (or any mattress at that). I do worry about it, especially on where to keep the old mattress so to still have one in case I return the online one (and until a different one arrives). I think this might be one of the the big reasons why I haven’t pulled to trigger yet in getting a mattress. And I desperately need to get a oolong mattress
I have never returned an online mattress before. The one that I used in the past was satisfactory so I didn't need to. If I hadn't seen this video though, I may have attempted to wrestle one back in the box like that skit one day. 😂
I’ve returned one bcz it was way too firm and we will see on the one I have now ??!!! So hard to choose!! And the 30 days I guess is good but it is hard to adjust to a new bed!
I have not had to return an online mattress. That’s why I’m trying to really research and watch your reviews so I can try to make the best choice to fit my needs. It sounds like a pain if you have to try to find a donation place on your own. I appreciate the info. This is very helpful!
It is EXTREMELY difficult to donate any kind of slightly used mattress to a charitable organization. I have called many places without luck. Apparently, bed bugs are a big concern among thrift shops.
I believed might be having my first online mattress return experience. I buy my mattresses from a box store. The Nectar I just bought is no different and I’m finding it’s likely not the right mattress for me and that box store will only do one exchange for me, this was m my exchange so I’m curious if Nectar will honor the refund of I decide to return.
I returned the Saatva Youth mattress. That costed me $99. I'm about to return the Brentwood Home Juniper kids bed. Don't buy kids beds... they're not good quality. That's what I have learned.
Duuuuudes ...too funny! Regarding returning any mattress, reviewers always state hassles and companies being uncooperative. Good to know it can be done. Most donation places don't take mattresses tho, bedbugs and Covid concerns.
Giveaway: I have no experience returning mattresses hence the reason I'd really like to win the giveaway. I'm currently using and have been for a very long time my parents old mattress that is literally older than me. So it'll be really nice to receive one since it doesn't fit in my budget hence the fact I'm still using a 20-plus year old mattress.
This information is incorrect and misleading. Amazon is the biggest seller of these mattresses and their return policy says "FREE Returns" but there is a big caveat: 'The mattress has to be new and unopened.' If you want to return it you will have to purchase a plastic bag to put the mattress inside. You did not name one company which has this free returns policy. Amazon's is definitely NOT free returns.
Giveaway: we need some matresses that are well rounded for couples!! I never thought abput how to send back the inconvience always discouraged me frkm wanting to return.
I’ve returned 19 of them. So glad I’m done with that process lol. But I learned to definitely try each one for 30 to 40 days , I didn’t do that with most of them and that was my fault..
Holy crap 19?! Wow, but I get it I’ve returned a few myself and still not sure about the one I have! So which one did you finally end up with??? It’s sooo hard to choose!!!!

My next mattress will most definitely be an online order, and I've been having anxiety about doing a possible return. Thank you!

First, hilarious! Thanks guys! I have not had to return a bed in a box. I was wondering how it worked. Thanks for the video!
Glad to know they get donated. I worried I might get someone else’s return.
I’m hoping that I won’t need to return a bed in the future as I would love to get a bed that best fits my sleeping preference and is very comfortable. However if I do, this video will certainly help me with the process. Thanks JD and the slumber squad!
It won't help--the process of vaccuming up yourself is practically impossible even though they claim it is "easy."
Have you ever had any experience with returning an online mattress? Yes, just once!. I returned a BB Signature. The process was seamless. Per BB's instructions, donated mattress to a qualified charity, provided a receipt to BB when mattress was picked up and received a prompt refund.
Oh my heavens! My husband and I were just discussing this! Thank you for helping us understand the process!
Actually a huge issue
I have not ever returned an online mattress or have I returned pretty much anything. But it is good to know that if I ever need to return a mattress I do not need to find a way to re-box it into the original packaging.
This helped so much with choosing a mattress, thanks much.

I haven’t had to deal with this just yet. I’m glad they pick up for free.

I'm a side sleeper too. What do you suggest? What should I see in a mattress before purchasing?
I returned a platform bedframe from Nectar. They sent me a shipping label and provided a full refund
Howx was your experience on returning?
@manashripatel1419 pretty efficient. I didn't open the package fully. It was a full size frame that was too heavy for me to carry up my stairs, alone. So I requested the refund and they sent people to pick it up from my porch.

Its a scam, they make the return process so tedious in hopes that you don't return it.
why did they not show how to return it in the box cause sites like amazon only allow returns in the box
