@ 19:10 "cha-ching bad guy!" I'm💀!🤣
Seriously tho this is a great video! I have to replace my husband's on Monday (I'm the car girl. He finds all this too complex). Hopefully all goes well and it's the right part! I tried triple checking w/o seeing the car.
I really needed this video because every time something breaks on this car, it's all bolted in weird and excessively. I think they designed it that way so you would have to go to one of their mechanics 🙄
On this car I've replaced the starter, a brake line, the thermostat, the gas pump, 2 calipers, 3 batteries, 2 door handles, and the driver window/lock control panel. This on top of the regular maintenance/replacement of oil, tires, and brakes. It also needs a new float for the gas gauge, but the tank is so rusted, i don't wanna risk taking it off again w/o the money to replace it. I'm just so done with this car. 😪
I told my husband he's never allowed to buy a hyundai again 🤦🏻♀️
If all goes well, thank you for making this video! I'm glad I'm not the only one that struggles to take things out of this car 😆
Yeah this one is complicated not so bad but defiantly it’s all bolted kinda crappy
@RBTheMechanic EXACTLY! I had to remove 27 screws, 6 snaps, and 4 electric plugs to get to the driver door, window control panel. Half the screws were hidden and a few needed an off-set screwdriver to reach. Absolutely excessive
What does the vacuum line go to? Mine broke now I have fuel pump issues
Thanks man awesome video 👍🏼totally real No bull.
No problem 👍
Thank you!!!! God Bless You!!!
Welcome!!
@RBTheMechanic how much was for labor on this?
Good done
You’re the man 👍🏽
gasoline boils at 140 degrees Fahrenheit you need to get copper coil 12v immersion heater and start vaporizing your stored gas vapor low pressure system
Go with a kia sorento alternator that fits and has a higher amperage rating output.
Is it the same for the limited model 2012?
Should be same
@@RBTheMechanic me n pops trying to get it out now.
So it ended up testing bad on a device and passed on computer...I ended up getting a new one anyways...it could be my cars staying on after I get out...or..well I have a 5 channel amp system...but it's not a big system...could be not turning off properly...idk... alternator is 12 years old so idk.
@@oslozoya1 yea 12 is long time I guess time for new one!!
@@RBTheMechanic yea i just ended up getting it cuz it was alot of work to take it out and i wasnt bout to do that to my pops then if it was bad sheesh..lol..
it is way eyser to remove the bolt from the back after you have moved the alt to the side or upside down take the two main bolts out first
Thank you 🙏
You’re welcome 😊
Hate to say I took it out from the top
You take the hose off that you did and 2 more on the valve above it just move it and you can take it from the top
Oh ok thank you for ur input
Next person that tells me these are good cars gets a pry bar to the face
Lol. They only good for 30k miles. Am I safe?
I wish I could like this comment twice
How long should it take to replace alternator
No more than 2 hrs
Outstanding!.........Kudos!!!!!...................Z
What is the top part on top of the alternator called ?
What u mean too it’s around. There’s pully. Stator. Armature diod
What if you tested the alternator 11years old they say it's good. The battery is brand new but still draining.
Idk what ur asking me y did they check alternator
So was the old alternator seized up where it wouldn't turn?
Yup jammed
Same question as first. What if power steering pump positioned over top of alternator. It’s a 2009 Hyundai Sonata
Remove the pump lift it up first
Is it possible to do this without lifting the vehicle?
Yeah u gonna have to some how some way ready down on bottom bolt shouldn’t be hard
😂 take a lil break. Good job
What if your power steering pump sits on top of your alternator
What year is ur car
My bottom bolt is smacking the frame vehicle is jacked up
I didn’t have that issue not sure I think u can slide it up with alternator
Same
Why not undo the passenger motor mount and jack it up from pan a little to avoid this
Did way too much, time is money in the shop pop the motor mount bolt jack up 3 inches done
No need to
@@RBTheMechanic so you did so many extra steps for nothing?
@@anthonyortiz4538 nope this is the way
@@RBTheMechanic can't accept constructive criticism can you?
This car doesn't have to go on a lift to change the alternator
Nope but if u can might help u bit
Omg I don’t have a way of taking the plunger off smh
What u mean
@@RBTheMechanic the little black part of the side of the manifold that takes up the little bit of space you need
At the 13:00 min mark is where I’m having trouble
V6
Oh that one is diffeent
To the guy that commercial yeah I can pay my friend to say something about $50,000 on the telephone to make a commercial to, your just scamming people
What?
