Talk about price gouging. It use to be people that went to live in Mexico had in mind affordability. 350k+ for a condo sounds like a stretch especially when you think about the pain of crossing the border these days. International real estate investors really know how to take advantage of the struggling working class in either side of the border 😅
It's called "inflation" and it's caused by central banking (#EndTheFed). Last time I checked, not a single person was forced to buy a home in Mexico at gunpoint, so there's that, so maybe it's just that our money is worth so much less (as in worthless if it ceases to be the petrodollar).
It used to be Mexican law that you must be a citizen of Mexico to own the land. That meant foreigners could only lease the property . Is that still true?
The Mexican constitution states that foreigners cannot own land in an escritura (Mexican title) 100 km from the border or 50 km from the ocean. You own it in a fideicomiso - which is basically a trust doc provided by a licensed trust bank. So for a state like Baja, that's pretty much all of it! But outside of this restricted zone, you can own as a Mexican citizen would.
yes but if you are married with a mexican wife there is no problem, or if you live down there legally for a couple of years you can get the citizenship rather straight forward and rich people buy property using shell companies so everyone is covered one way or the other.
Not necessarily true. You can buy property anywhere in Mexico as long as is not 50 Km from the border or the ocean. If it’s within this area, you can use a bank trust to buy it on your behalf.
As Daniel said here you own the land except 50km near the ocean..that area is only for Mexicans...as a option you can request Mexican nationality and then own near the ocean..dual nationality is legal on Mexico and US,,
@@robpalac1603 What an ignorant and racist thing to say. Are you from Texas or Florida? You can buy a very nice house in California next to a lake and a forest, with snow in the winter. No one should be buying near a beach at this point, especially close to the equator.
Americans got California for free, lmao 😂, South of the border is getting expensive too bad the land of the free is not free, find out what Mexican freedom is, come And go as you please, that's freedom,
Years ago I would bash on the crime rate in TJ. Today, I'd rather live in TJ than Chicago.
Thats because criminals cannot afford rent in TJ but they could in the past
Tijuana has very few blacks, unlike Chicago.

Exactly, investors in Mexico know how to make a profit too. Been there than that, found it overpriced and stressful in many ways.
look at those amenities and ocean views, it's definitely a lifestyle purchase not an investment property so why does it matter the price.
supply and demand that's how it works

Seen many chicanos in California obtain citizenship very easily just by applying for it via family lineage
It's Baja CALIFORNIA, not just Baja.

I think Ukraine provides even more cheaper homes, wondering why people are not taking advantage of it.

I’m glad that Mexico has open borders.

800k for a condo in TJ???? No thanks
Baja California ********
I can find a home in California that costs under 300k.
Yeah the difference is in Baja you get it by the ocean with 24/7 security and in California you would find a 300k home where there’s drive by’s 24/7 😂
