    Someone didn’t do the due diligence in checking that engine before assembly. If the snout is bent then it would’ve shown when it was getting the journals polished, also you are supposed to put that crank in a fixture and check each journal and snout for any runout. Not a good look for the builder.

    I'm guess Stevie Wonder must have balanced the crank with a sledgehammer.
    Reminds me of my 18 GT where the idiots before me used vice grips to turn the crank, tore up the snout, and then used a sledgehammer or something to FORCE the balancer back on. I literally broke a gear puller trying to get the balancer off, and it took HOURS of using a block of wood and a dead blow hammer to put it back on. Hell they partially stripped the threads for the bolt too. Idiots and cars don't mix. No wonder why it had a cam sensor code. Probably timed it incorrectly, then turned off the code in the tune to cover it up.

    Those rod bearings are shot. This video is a good education for your viewers as to the fact that you cannot take anyone's word on anything. You have to inspect work that you pay for and cant trust anyone, as sad as that is. But in addition to that, you're educating your viewers as to how to handle a situation like this. Its not a poor mans game and you should expect disappointment and learn how to verify other's work. You have kept a good positive attitude and forged ahead.

    Highly doubt bent crank since your able to spin it freely by hand (if all mains and caps are in place). Miss ground crank possible putting taper on journal or egg shape. Unless it had ton of clearance on thrust letting crank move forward and backwards. Didn't clean any of the parts after machine shop work???? We've all had stuff fail from so called better parts or bad assembly.

    Sorry for dumb question

  • @cchvyd28
    @cchvyd28 Месяц назад

    I'm confused. Wouldn't a lower compression motor with the same amount of boost make the same hp as a higher compression motor? The lower compression engine will just take a smaller pulley to reach that amount of boost. Maybe a slight increase in temps due to spinning the blower faster, but maybe not because at the end of the day restriction (boost) causes heat. And the boost will be the same.

    • @cchvyd28
      @cchvyd28 Месяц назад

      For example, a 12:1 engine to make 10psi with a gen 3 whipple uses a 3.75" pulley. And that makes 680whp.
      A 9.5:1 engine to make 10psi may need a 3.5" pulley. But it will still make 680whp.
