For anyone who's curious. The obsbot meet 2 & obsbot tiny 2 lite both use the Sony imx586 48mp sensor. The emeet s800 uses the Sony imx586 as well. Some of the first webcams on the market to use this sensor were made by ELP / SVPRO.

this looks really good, and my favorite part is that it is so small I can place it between my monitors at eye level without having the monitors too far apart from each other
The details coming from this camera is amazing, it isn't oversharpened either compared to other webcams, it looks very natural, the thing that worries me, I'm not sure about the skipping/lagging frames, it seems like in some of the footage you've shot it goes away but for some it's there, otherwise hands down this is probably the closest camera I've seen look like a mirrorless, and it's a really good price, definitely a competitive one and the form factor just adds to it, I'm so going to pick this up when I have the money to because this camera is just so awesome, like you could honestly shoot a movie with this, a gopro replacement even, chuck some waterproofing and dirt resistance to it and it's one Thanks for doing what you do, I've been a long time watcher and the value you put towards the space is really handy and also really valuable so thanks
Another good, budget friendly piece of equipment that I can research once I get my PC updated. The longer I patiently wait on picking PC parts the other tech is getting better too.
Just out of the box I think it looks amazing for a webcam under $150. I will say that when you were messing with the background blur and the filters it seemed to lag a bit, and I don't know if that's just because it was applying them and it stops lagging after that, but eh. I wouldn't be using this for those things anyway, but still a nifty feature to have if it doesn't lag the entire time you're using them. I love that it can be mounted vertical or horizontal and that it comes with it's own cap to help protect the lens. The magnetic feature is nifty and convenient. The mic in the camera is okay, but unless you just don't have any other kind of mic, I doubt anyone who uses this will be using the built in mic. I'm honestly surprised companies still put mics in the web cams at all these days. I'd say for what it is, that's a great deal and will work for almost anyone's needs for a clear and clean video quality for streaming or youtube videos.
Hopefully a webcam company will make one with bokeh capabilities (well as strong as or close to dslr lenses). This one featured is a pretty decent camera overall, but the background blur with (for example) a f1.4 is just so pleasing to the eyes. I know this can be manufactured in with filters but it almost never looks as nice imo.
Natural bokeh is simply physics. It is limited by the lens, but also the sensor size. The size in these webcams is just too small to make any natural bokeh. Some webcams has a 1" sensor, but that is still small to make a meaningfull amount of bokeh. If you really want natural, get a used mirrorless camera and a lens. Doesn't have to be expensive. Mirrorless cameras has been good for years so even old cameras can be used with clean HDMI. It will not be 129USD cheap though.
For 1/10th the price of a mirrorless setup, and just some minor adjustments to lighting... it could look nearly identical on most devices. Honestly the Facecam has a flatter profile which I think can be matched through settings. Pretty impressive. I might pick up a few for alternate angles of my streaming setup.
Comment here if you end up doing that. I was considering this as a budget top-down streamcam solution but the demo didn’t touch on usecases outside of zoom or main camera functionality.
5+ years ago, this is the cam I was looking for. It didn't exist, I used a gopro and knock offs which were better than web cams at the time. Eventually as we got affordable ways to hook up more traditional cameras and phones for streaming. I personally progressed way beyond the need for this. If I was starting out today, I'd pick one up in a heartbeat.
Ooooo the microphone is a reason I will be choosing this when I upgrade. I need a webcam that can work for my personal computer as well as work computer. And I'm not pulling out a microphone for work.
I like the obsbot brand. Saying that, this looks like it focuses on the background, leaving you a bit blur on the image. Amazing, the background is sweet sweet clear. That peg board in the back is super great. So we know the camera has the right hardware, maybe a bit of softward to refocus the face. Nice camera. Very nice.
It looks great in comparison to the competition especially given the price, however I really want these webcams to have natural bokeh. That is what really makes the subject pop in the video. Would be a great overhead camera. Which I had one when I was doing pokemon pack openings.

Seems like an amazing camera for the price. 1/4 20 mount and the size means you can also put it basically anywhere. Like a lot of tech products the good ones are getting cheap and the cheap ones are getting good.

A lot of these are right before or right after a scene transition so I was initially leaning toward an encoding issue, but at the same time it's only happening on scenes recorded with the camera in the video and not other scenes that he switched to or from in the video. That has me leaning more toward a camera issue. I noticed them on my tablet, so as a sanity test I rewatched this on my laptop and got the same results. There's a few I left out because they were so brief that adding them would just be me being pedantic.
This could be really neat if they sold an attachment with a battery pack that accepted a microSD card for recording. Or an attachment (again with battery) that sends the cam data over wifi. Those two attachments would dramatically increase their market size. It'd be a great second camera even for people who already have a DSLR/mirrorless!
Can we all agree that webcam manufacturers especially if they are focusing on content need to stop adding microphones? I love cam though. Looks decent for its price tag
Well, im still using a sony a5100 with a camlink 4K and im still getting 1080p60. With a beautiful blur at higher zooms. Got the whole package secondhand for €250. Imo way better than “streamcams”. More versatile? No. Haha
thank you for this video, i am finding image quality on my own videos is very hit and miss and do not seem to be able to sort it out. i was using a sony mirroless camera, suddenly obs and zoom were not connecting to it aghhhh. so i bought a neo facecame, and still i am never satisfied with the image, i think it might have a lot to do with my lighting tbh, i am a 60 year old newbie at this stuff, Im wondering if bying this OBSBOT Meet 2 will make any difference at all? anyway i like your videos and am thankful that you take the time to upload them. mark
The focus hunting, with one person.. isnt bad.. but i wonder if you set this up in a conference room, with multiple people.. how would it handle that? Also, sure, its abit sharper than the Elgato, but its also darker. Which isnt a surprise given how much smaller the sensor is so it cant capture as much light.
Okay, just from the video, the video looks great. Better than the standard webcams like the Logitech C290 and probably better than the Logitech Brio. Just one issue I've notice is that the frames can freeze and glitch a little, that's what i notice from the video. Other than that it looks nice, its small, perfect for creator starting out.
You forgot about one very importand feature - FPS. This entire video looks like streamed/recorded in 12FPS, which is half what it should minimum be (best option is at least 60). There is no point of making good quality image in 4K if it's only pictures, instead of video. Maybe someone will count how many times this short video lagged? :P
I have elgato facecam 2 and recently got a free razer kiyo ultra... thinking on selling those to get some of these for some multicam projects i have in mind...
I’ve been thinking about smaller, lighter, cheaper cams for protest monitoring. This would require another device for recording or streaming, and for multiple cameras could be writs on one person, but that price point with the right other decides might be workable. Idk yet
imo it looks backfocused, at least in some of the shots. It's hard to tell if it's actually backfocused or if my eyes expect the background to be more out of focus (the background is too in focus or oversharpened)
Hello Guys. Well a purchased the Meet 2 (of course in green color) and I had a problem. I got an error message that says the USB device has malfunctioned and exceeded the power limits of its hub port... Any idea what is the problem? What should I do?
@@jtm94 It will of course take time until there are enough cameras like that available on the used market, but it's a beginning. I will stay with my C920 for now as well.

I have an EMEET S800, I use it for green screen video recording, it's more valued than obsbot meet 2

at 180$CAD, this is definitely a tough buy. it looks great, but it's definitely not a cheap camera in any way

This is great for small setups with limited space, good for top down camera view i might do for keyoard cam.

Got one of these today... it certainly is incredible.
It only looks like a webcam in moments... when you get close you notice it more but once your set yourself back in the frame it looks completely fine

Looks good actually, the field a view isn't a deal breaker at all for me. I might grab 2 of them, especially since I can hide them between monitors.

I noticed that too, but I’m using the Meet 2, and I haven’t seen any major stutters. Might be a setup thing or maybe a specific software issue?

Elgato has more flat look and green tint. But yeah more data. If you could somehow post-process the image it might look better.

Compared to the Elgato at the beginning it's got a much narrower dynamic range. You can't see the dude who comes in to compare properly on the Obsbot.
