I wish I would have heard this term, 45 years ago. "Domestic church" I used to use bad language, if I lost my temper. About 8 years ago, I gave all bad language up, for Lent. I was very surprised, when I asked for help, from Our Lady, it was incredibly easy . It never returned. I never picked it back up.
@AnnacollenEtters: I was thinking the exact same thing. One of the worst lessons I learned as a parent is The tongue is can do so much more damage than a spanking. Although I on rare occasion used physical discipline, my anger and frustration would come out of my mouth doing everlasting damage. 😢
From the abundance of your heart, your mouth speak. It Is good to know that IF we exprés ourselves in that way, Is because, our parents didn"t take care of our language😂
@69ChevyGarage. Sadly, Regrettably you're Not the only Parent that's learnt the Hard way. I've things I wish I could take back! However, it's never To late to learn, and if we begin however small to Cultivate "Domestic churches" our lives and those around us, and or surroundings, atmosphere begin to get better gradually.
Salve Maria! Thank you for this excellent counsel. It is a great time to examine our homes and start the New Year as a strong faithful Catholic and not be swallowed up with this world.
I never thought about some of these things! 😮 It's a great reminder that our environment can either strengthen or weaken our connection with God. Let's make our homes places of prayer and holiness. ✝🌿
Thank you so much Father for this very important topic. May all parents of our Catholic families teach their children according to the Word and Love of Jesus so that our world can change and return to Jesus Christ and to Holy Mother Church. I prayer for every Catholic human bean , baptised , return to the church , so many , for some reason, not going to mass every weekend. My own daughter stopped coming , I prayed , she will join my self and my husband, we go to listern to gods word . She came to church , yesterday. Thank god , for what we prayer for . I could not live without faith , following the Lord Jesus .
My son is still very young, I am grateful to have found this podcast. Thank you for so much wisdom I need to keep these teachings in my heart to guide my son into adulthood in the next 10-15 years.
I was sitting by myself in a coffee shop attempting to have a relaxing few minutes. Just wanted to enjoy my coffee. At a table nearby was a couple, maybe 20 years old. Every word out of the fellow's mouth was eff, effin, etc. It was just a constant stream of eff. It was so upsetting and off putting. Needless to say, it ruined my time.
Had quite similar experience a couple times in train ride. Young group of male and female students using F word in their every sentences. Was offering reparation prayers for them till I finally had to change the seat to a different carriage.
My son is one of those that uses the "F" word in nearly every sentence that comes out of his mouth. He is 42, never married, no children. I have asked that he watch his mouth when in our home, but it has become so " normal" that it just spews automatically. Please, pray for him.
Thank you Fr. and Brothers for this wonderful podcast. Very informative. May Our Creator continue to inspire you with His Spirit to continue to share the Good News🙏
So true! As a little child I used to be so dependent on superstitions for peace and all it did was give me anxiety! (Four leaf clovers, dream catchers, shooting stars… 3etc!) when I got older I became more dependent on Mary for security and I have had so much peace!!!
Re: Amulets - good luck objects, understood. I got to thinking about when people say something like, "my gut was warning me." I've got to saying guts don't talk, our Guardian Angels are guiding us. Listening to what my Guardian Angel is telling me has never led me astray. Thank you for this podcast.
I have a prayer room at home with lots of Rosary beads , statues , prayer books , pic of love ones that have gone before us . Holy water for Malta . Good to know all this fr god bless .
One of the Catholic Charities I donate to give dream catchers as gifts!! I never knew that they were taboo since a Catholic charity were sending them. Perhaps someone needs to tell them to stop sending out forbidden objects!!
I had received from a religious group for American Indians. I thought it was blessed and hung it over my bed. Believe me I had so many nightmares!!! Once I removed it the nightmares stopped!!!!!!!
I wrote a book that talks about what God has done for our family. Catholic charities said they do no take books that talk about God. This made me angry.
It's because they are just fun decorations. Catholics -- especially Trad Catholics -- are starting to sound too much like Protestants these days with all this hocus pocus about magic and sorcery. A dreamcatcher is a bunch of wood, rope, and feathers in a neat design, nothing more. Native Americans might have thought dreamcatchers had some power, but that is their own error. Moreover, Catholics have frequently utilized spiritual imagery from other cultures to help integrate others into Catholicism. A famous example is the Celtic Cross -- Celts worshipped the sun, so we put a sun behind the cross. That doesn't mean we are now worshipping the sun.
My daughter Michel was a victim of the internet. She was a perfect student & child so we thought she had wisdom about what she watches over her iPhone. However all these mystery & murder books and media could have contributed to her demise. She climbed out of our 12 floor armed with a bag of strings, travel card, gloves, knife, diary, wallet with some money and fell to her death on 15 Jan 2024. Pls pray for her soul, we only pray and hope that God will have mercy on her and on this family.
In prineble, yes. As catholics, we do to take a stand against all that us evil, in this world. It is through abstaining, servitude, and sacrifice, that brings us, and those around us, closer to God.

Very good talk, but sorry to correct you Father however the pet rock came out in the 1970s, and not 1980s…other than that, Thankyou for the splendid advice.
I remember once, when a friend of mine from the neighborhood came to the house, and my dog wouldnt look at him, and kept pressing against me, to the point that my dog was trembling almost violently in fear, and refused to look at him or approach him, and i had to tell my friend to leave because i was worried about my dog. We were smoking a lot of weed at that time in my life, and thats how i knew him, but he didnt act bad, he kinda acted like nothing bothered him actually, almost sociopathic, no emotions. I dont know what was with my friend but my dog sensed it and was scared witless.

I don't see how he can continue at this point. It's been months since ive heard or seen another Catholic actually have anything positive to say about what he is doing to the church. It's clear he's driven by secular demands rather than fidelity to the faith.
I don’t see any problem with Pope Francis. There are so many would-be Popes on social media, who do not research what he actually says, but just believe the opinions and interpretations of some who would like to bring division to the Church. Pope Francis, and him alone, has been given the job by the Holy Spirit to lead His Church through this time and he will have to account only to Him (the Holy Spirit). Would any of you swap places with him, and at 88 years of age?
It took me a few years to realize that it's not just an impression. The current head of the church is taking over word for word the policies of the globalist satanic "elite". We must pray for the survival of the church, now under attack from within.@@unabee1940
I interpret the amulet discussion as modern day items that we use as charms - charms, things we use for luck, things we use as spiritual healing, etc. NOT religious items like rosaries, scapulars, holy medals as long as the intention is holy.
Wow, media influence has taken a toll on my family. We are regaining the reins through controls, and prayers. But I have never heard a priest before guiding against this. The internet can be a very dark place. Please parents, do not think that because they are calm and quiet it is a good thing. I nearly lost my sanity when I realized what my son has been listening to. Please heed this advise
1. No amulets! (Why would I want a tribute or symbol of an idol?) But I truly doubt anyone had faith in their pet rock. No Tibetan bracelets, Buddha bookends, dream catchers, evil eyes, Disney trash, Ouija boards, Taylor Swift junk, bad music, movies, books, etc. I did have a funny rock from the beach made into my father’s head, his face drawn with marker, glued on crew cut and tiny paper sailor’s hat. It was a Father’s Day gift for a paperweight! I wouldn’t want a bear claw or tooth, but even if I did, it’d be nothing more than a hunting trophy. I have several turkey, pheasant, and seagull feathers that I found. But again, NOT amulets! I have my father’s Rosary and a great, great grandmother’s Miraculous medal. I cherish them, but they aren’t good luck charms! 2. Profane language. My parents, Dad especially, hated profanity. Who ever used it growing up had to taste the top of the dish soap bottle and recite the Divine Praises. If there was no repentance, we got smacked or other corporal punishment, age appropriate. If we blasphemed God, Jesus, Mary, saints, then we were brought to Confession. 3. Online media. No, I hate profanity or porn, anything suggestive of impurity. I have nothing of that. If I happen to see or hear it, I delete, go away, close my eyes, whatever is needed to get rid of it. Leave a young girl or boy with free reign online, you may as well invite a few pervs from the sex offender list into your home to babysit your kids. I don’t have a TV set. Not since 1982! We had a tiny b&w TV w/rabbit ears when I was growing up. It was in parents’ bedroom and got four channels. We watched very little. 4. Friends? I have only one close friend since four of them passed away since 2019. My one friend lives 1,000+ miles away and doesn’t have internet or even a smartphone. I’m pretty much on my own, not having even the Mass. I have a priest who comes by every six-eight weeks for the Sacraments. I’m a senior on a very low fixed income. I cannot move. Better no friends than bad friends. My area is sparsely populated and not at all Catholic! I’ve never had many friends. I just never really fit in, and when I realized why, I was unwilling to do what was required, to join a clique to the exclusion of others. 5. Immodest fashions. Not a problem. At my age, I have nothing to show off! I never liked unfeminine, sloppy, revealing clothes. As a child and young adult, I often got teased and rejected by others for not wearing and not liking certain clothes. Once I hit about 45-50, nobody said anything. Starting in grade 7, if someone made snide remarks to my face, I’d reply, “_________, if you don’t like what I’m wearing, don’t look at me,” and walk away. So far as what others wear, I usually mind my own business. In most cases, silence is better than a rebuke.
I have seen some very immoral clothing at mass! And I have never heard the priest admonish them. In the 50s & 60s, we would have been asked to leave the mass.
How true it is. Shielded in consecration. While one may not fully recognize the shield while they are truly protected, it becomes very clear if that protection is lost due to negligence and the wickedness and snares of the Devil. Kyrie Eleison.
I once walked out of a mass because the celebrant, in his homily marched up and down around the altar saying this and that “sucks”. It is not a word I use and was appalled that a priest would proclaim it in the altar during a homily. I just couldn’t stay and walked out. This was not at my regular church so I didn’t talk to the pastor about it. I prayed for him but now wonder if I could have done more?
Salve Maria! LORD Jesus, You are the highest authority, and there is no spiritual power above You. Therefore, I hide in You, as You are my safe shelter. I'm confident that in submitting to You, no evil will ever be able to conquer me.
Thank you very much for this necessary and informative talk. It gives me an awareness now at least that I didn't get from my upbringing. That the home is a sacred place and to be kept sacred for our own sanctity and to enlighten the world. The clear speech that, yes, our world is pagan and trying to invade and destroy everything sacred - this clears my mind and helps me to see the sense of Christian rules and behavior. God bless you for this important work!
Fr is the cursing I can't take..I feel so embraces to c these big adults as if they don't have a cover for their mouth when the child is around. Salva Maria
18:47 You can also give the rosary away so that no one else in your family can be led astray as well. Let the material go, seek the spiritual. If she is in heaven, she won't mind at all.

The amulet thing is so true! I see SO many teens and even people in their early twenties wearing crystals. Crystal pendant necklaces or crystal beaded bracelets. Also evil eye jewelry. 'Evil eye' everything was such a huge trend in jewelry and fashion for so many years. Crystals are the huge thing now with the youth, and it always leads to new age/law of attraction witchcraft.
Always? I've had one since I was a teenager and an atheist. I've had it while I came to faith and still have it now after becoming a Catholic. I got it from a friend who was very fond of it, and I remember the impression it made on me when she let go of it because she wanted me to have it. So, when I look at it, it reminds me of the strength of true friendship - a bond that no earthly thing has the power to break. It reminds me of the true treasure we have in Heaven and thus it inspires me to pray and thank God for love and friendship. The thing in itself is nothing. It's the significance we assign to it that matters.
My dad put it right about lucky charms. I came home from a carnival with a rabbit foot. He reminded me that the rabbit had four of them, and it didn't help the rabbit.
Matthew 6:7-8 King James Version (KJV)But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking. Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.
as a catholic who is totally against new age crap, there is absolutely nothing even remotely uncatholic or wrong about a pet rock that kids have. They paint it or put little googly eyes on it, give it water etc. Its essentially a game. As Christians everything is about ur intentions. Yes if u start thinking it gives u a certain energy then that is different but a rock in and of itself is nothing wrong. Some priests speak ridiculously about certain things.
If pet rocks are problematic, so can any possession - even religious items can be held/used superstitiously and treated like amulets and idols, maybe more than any secular items. Sacramentals can be used inordinately and superstitiously. Even sacraments can be approached superstitiously. It's all in the intention, as Father stated. You also have to use common sense. Just because you have jewelry or a play item for amusement - it has a place and isn't necessarily an amulet. We need to stay away from concepts of "magic" or "good luck" or "good fortune" Or "the universe provides," which are superstitious acts in violation of the First Commandment.
It's important to remember that this goes the other way too - it's possible to think "I'm not using it superstitiously so it's ok" but then still be affected. Things like dreamcatchers are often made by witches and sold by stores that also sell crystals, owl jewellry and are focussed on the occult. Especially 2nd hand items from thrift stores or flea markets, you don't know where that thing has been or what it's been used for. At the very very least, get things blessed and exorcised by a priest. But better just to avoid them
@@faithful451 Of course, the other way (denial) is true - but that doesn't make what I said as "partially true." You're just adding to the conversation. I guess anything that anyone ever says about anything could be labeled "partially true," so long as the subject matter has not been exhausted. It's also a denial and reaction formation of always putting the blame and taboo outside of us - "those withes and new agers; we're such superior religious folks! (like Pharisees)," but there's a lot going on with many self-misguided religious folks, too, absent the guidance of a spiritual director.
I gave up TV 22 years ago, no TV jn my new home, but I just watched soaps with mam so that we could spend time for 1 hour each day together, but no TV in my home ever and as a babysitter I turn off bad stuff for little ones and I put on holy movies ans ocean images ans sounds for baby Jack to get him to sleep ans while he's asleep in his own home, I find holy movies and watch them ans when his mam come some, she finds these movies kn as I walk out the door and I think she's surprised
I come from a family that was previously not Christian. Back in those days, the elders took everyday inanimate objects and called upon spirits. After that, the objects moved by themselves for some seconds. These spirits were not the Holy Spirit or Holy Gaurdian angels. My elders had severe mood swings that were not logical. One moment happy and the next moment angry. It was as if a negative spirit spoke into their ears. Based on my observation, I would avoid imbuing or attaching too much emotional value and “love” to inanimate objects including rocks, soft toys. After all, isn’t God, Jesus, Mother Mary, Holy Spirit and our Holy Gaurdian Angels the ones who loves us in the most altruistic way. I realise now, through trial and error, that I receive the most joy and peace when I focus and form that “love” attachment to God, Jesus and the holy ones.

Why not get the format and consecrate yourself first? When the opportunity comes for total consecrate you enroll. That's what my husband did

GREAT IDEA
You have a great sense of humor. Loved your post 😄
I have seen some very immoral clothing at mass! And I have never heard the priest admonish them. In the 50s & 60s, we would have been asked to leave the mass.
I really enjoy your show I want to see more❤
How true it is.
Gud message for the catholic family.Tq Father...God bless you all.
Salva Maria
Abounding wisdom here
18:47 You can also give the rosary away so that no one else in your family can be led astray as well. Let the material go, seek the spiritual. If she is in heaven, she won't mind at all.
They do that in Australia too, but they are friendship bracelets to remind themselves of their friend. 😊
Thank you Father God bless you.
Prise be to God.
Churches of Jesus made for Prayer should be our bodies and homes 🙏🏽🙏🏻🙏🏾

That was an intense pet rock.
as a catholic who is totally against new age crap, there is absolutely nothing even remotely uncatholic or wrong about a pet rock that kids have. They paint it or put little googly eyes on it, give it water etc. Its essentially a game. As Christians everything is about ur intentions. Yes if u start thinking it gives u a certain energy then that is different but a rock in and of itself is nothing wrong. Some priests speak ridiculously about certain things.
Thankyou so much Kerala India
@@jtg3765I got a certain impression reading your comment but you're right. I've removed 'partially true' from my reply. God bless.
What does the symbol mean on your clothes? Reminds me of the Knights Templar. Please excuse my ignorance….

My girls both reported that a substitute teacher used profanity in the classroom as well as their previous bus driver
