I have been looking through some old timetables and found a nice CE timetable for September 1994 with the Holyhead route and the Blaenau route also in the timetable. It's now among the places I want to check out in the near future. Been looking through this 1994 booklet, which also has the Shap route in it. Great little booklet for TS routes, this one turns out to be, as Liv-Man and the upcoming Hope Valley are also in there!
North Wales is full of holiday parks e.i. pontis, haven and Butlins and many private ones, many great memories from my childhool spent around ryl and prestatyn
Great video! On the subject getting adverse AWS warnings on clear signals, I belive I've worked out why that is. Since in two-aspect signalling, distant signals aren't block signals, I don't believe the game's signalling system recognizes them as existing. They're essentially dummies that just reflect what the home signal is doing. This is why they also don't appear on the HUD. Therefore, they can't trasmit data as to what aspect they're showing. However, because they have AWS ramps, the ramps have to tie back to something. They can't just be set to always trigger an alarm, like a morpeth board or fixed distant, because then you'd always get adverse warnings on clear signals, no matter the situation. So I believe the ramps are tied to what the home signal is doing. This works fine most of the time, as you'll either be operating under clears, thus both the distant and home will be clear, or chasing yellows, so the home will be at danger, thus the distant will be set to caution. Either way, you'll get the correct AWS sound. Where this breaks down is in situations like you encounter on this run and some of your other more recent ones, where the home is at caution, so the distant is clear. But since the AWS ramp is looking at the home signal, it triggers the alarm. Hope that makes sense. That's the explanation I've come up with based on observation, but if someone more familiar with the game's code wants to correct me, feel free! Edit: Just realized that I left an imporant bit out: This is also only an issue at places where you switch from two-aspect to three/four aspect signalling, since that's the only time you can have a home signal at caution, since two-aspect home signals can only display clear or danger. So the solution I outlined above works for most situations except for this on incedibly niche example, but one that can occur with some frequency, as you've demonstrated in the last couple videos.
Second comment. FYI, the freeware route has been redone to work with the updated route. The old version is still supported as a legacy download for owners of that version.
I was hoping to hear Llanfair PG said in full. It was something I learned how to pronounce in full not long after starting at the RAC. Next time perhaps.
@@PTGRailIn fairness welsh names are a bit of a mouthful I *think* Penmaenmawr is pronounced pen-main-ma-ow-rrr however that is a definite "I think" since it's been a hot minute since i did any welsh lessons!
The answer to your question why there so many caravan parks (mobile homes) is because North Wales brings in a lot of tourism to the country mainly people from England, i remember going there a lot on holiday specially haven park and a couple of one’s in Prestatyn.
@@PTGRail some people do live in them on a semi permanent basis but only from the start of Spring till the start of October when they are closed for the Autumn and Winter months and some own one through the company’s that own the caravan parks which then do the same for the tourism but both you and the company of the caravan park’s get a cut of the profits as my family has done a lot of this in the past.
Hello Pete. Glad to see you making videos again m8 I've been getting back into train sim classic recently and really wanna try to drive without the hud cause of you. I was also the one that gifted ya that German Loco I believe way back. Cheers. Tyler.
Hey Tyler, thanks for the comment and the gift from way back! Driving without the HUD is a much more satisfying and realistic experience. That feeling of being able to do a whole journey correctly is amazing! :)
Hi Pete! Hope You are ok? Got to meet up at sometime mate! Just a point that some Coastbound trains use platform 4 on occasion (both 3 and 4 are bi-directional). Cracking video and I wasn't aware of the updated stock for it! See You soon....J😃
Hey John, I’m good thanks and how are you doing? I’d love to meet up but don’t know how to contact you! Feel free to drop me an email at ptgrail@gmail.com with your contact details and we can go from there! :)
You said that the train was the 0656 from Crewe but when setting the destination the time was 0659 and several minutes later when en route the time was still about the same
Funny you going to Holyhead. Dude as I have just got there on etc 2 lol and reguarding speedos why does my old escort van go upto 140 mph when it's hard pushed to do more than 70 lol
Great video as always! Just a question - how did you get the track to look so nice? I tried reinstalling the AP track patch when I got the NWC route but made no difference...
Quick question: are there any DLCs/Mods that include Crewe on WCML? I would love to drive through it but not in the context of starting a North walee journey?
I have no plans to cover the Isle of Wight route again for a while now, unfortunately. It feels like it's been covered to death on this channel already! But maybe in the distant future. :)
Do you still take video requests from Patreon supporters? Would like to see you doing videos of certain routes I like but I'm not sure if they fit your criteria.

A rather unusual statue at Flint, I wonder who foot the bill for that!
Great video as always PTG.
Great video once again Pete, I've been struggling with the 175 all evening and you've made things much clearer - as usual!😂👍👍
They're static caravan holiday parks along the north wales coast👍🏼
I would recommend using the class 175 revamp pack by Major Wales
this is one of my favourite SimSig routes from Saltney Jn. to Hollyhead.
You're back!!! That's brilliant! I can't wait to watch these new videos

They have a lot of caravans because it's just a nice place to have a holiday
I’ve been to North Wales before, spending time in Llandudno and I agree it’s a nice part of the world! :)
@@PTGRail it is but it gets boring when you live there, but I can always appreciate the view with places like llanfairfechan and the menai straits !!

I can do most of it - but there's a part in the middle I really struggle with, so I decided to use the short version!

Nice journey I did TSW 2 on my PS4 and I enjoy my TSW 2 love this video amazing 😊
Another great TFW line to do is Shrewsbury to Aberystwyth or Pwheli
Not mobile homes, they are static caravans for holidays I believe
Yesss ive been waiting so long

The Chester to Wolverhampton section isnt in game sadly
Oh darn it alright thanks for letting me know

what track do you use? it looks way better than the Armstrong powerhouse track

Are there any routes in ts that go from Skegness to Nottingham? I live in Boston and it would be really cool to see my local station in-game.
I’d like to know how you can put multiple routes in just one scenario

Are you going to do eurostar in TS
Hi when is your next video and what will it be
did you say can still get it on steam to download
Why can’t I use the TMS?
What is your favorite scenario on what route so far?
Do you still take video requests from Patreon supporters? Would like to see you doing videos of certain routes I like but I'm not sure if they fit your criteria.
It entirely depends on the route/journey/train involved. I can’t guarantee it, but you never know! :)
What graphics mod do you use?
Which scenaro is this please?
Face reveal wen 😆
Is there a route from Carlisle to barrow that is a stopper
The route from Carlisle to Barrow hasn't yet been created for TS. I'm hoping they will extend this route to Carlisle in the future!
@@PTGRail it would be great to see the Cumbria coast line in TS especially with some scenarios aswell
I hope this ain't rude as well but can u make chapters for your videos please
