Magic currently has the following collabs either normal or Secret Lair: Walking Dead, D&D/Baldur's Gate 3, Stranger Things, Arcane, Street Fighter, Fortnite, Warhammer 40k, Blood Bowl, Transformers (cartoon), Lord of the Rings, Doctor Who, Creepshow, Evil Dead, Princess Bride, Jurassic World/Park, Tomb Raider, Clue, Fallout, Assassin's Creed, Hatsune Miku, Monty Python, now Ghostbusters, and in 2025ish Final Fantasy and Marvel. I may have missed one. Their licensing team is absolutely killing it. Their set about to be released is 80s/90s VHS/Horror themed. Everyone at Kinda Funny could build a themed deck that fits their personality and interests.
Haven’t tuned in to KFGD for a long time cause I got into magic so intensely and my algorithm replaced all my videos about gaming with videos about magic lol. This has brought me back full circle 😂

The New World console beta just finished. Game is out next month on console. I feel like Greg should give it a go, it’s a very chill mmo in my opinion.

The MtG community tends to agree that these types of cards (usually released in Secret Lairs) are good because they're just like skins in a video game, but some don't like the bigger crossover sets (Universes Beyond) because they're all mechanically unique (either in full booster sets like Lord of the Rings, or pre-made decks like Fallout and Doctor Who). Personally, I dont mind either way and I'm super excited for the full Final Fantasy set next year.
I love the secret lairs but me and my friends get way more excited when they announce Full licensed commander sets, such as the Doctor who, LOTR and Fallout ones, which we play with fairly regularly
As long as PS4 and 5 games can all be bought from the store they will work on a PS6. The entire reason Sony didn’t really want to do backwards compatibility with the PS4 seemed to be that they wanted to sell ports of older games on the PS4 store.
As long as the hardware architecture matches the software requirements and path to operate, then yes there wouldn't be a problem. But when changing chips manufacturers the whole architecture could get compromised and a game may not run on that new "environment" That's why the PS3 example is always brought up in conversations about backwards compatibility
Would love it PS would focus their next console around their ecosystem - bring in the new portable gaming device - keep improving on haptics - make the new VR wireless and connect to the portable device and most importantly run 60 FPS at full resolution

I don’t know how to say this, but you guys need to bring more experts onto your shows. You make great podcast hosts but if you’re going to discuss certain things like chips and comparing AMD and Intel or Sony and looking at the financial cost of making a console and their business model, I would prefer to hear from an expert at least for a little while. Here are some things worth considering. A PS5 Pro will launch at a price of $700. That is a fact. The system that follows that the PS6 has to do two things it has to launch and be better than the pro and it has to be at least $700. You guys argued it should be cheaper than $700. How in the world is Sony going to manage to accomplish that. Look at what happened this generation. the cost to manufacture a platform did not go down for anyone years into the development cycle. The price went up. That should tell you something very scary about Next generation. Next, there’s talk of how Sony will make some of their developers streamline the development process get your games out faster sounds good on paper. Makes no sense because you the gamers don’t you want six hours done let’s be realistic. We want that GOW that took 20 hours to complete. We wanted ghost that took how long to complete again? Guess what it cost a lot of money to make those games. It takes a lot of time to make those games but there’s one fact you’re forgetting when it comes to making those games there is a finite market of buyers. No matter how much money you spend making this game no matter how much time you spend making it. It’s only going to sell so many copies, and that brings us to the last issue. Last generation PS4 hardware is still being used more than current generation hardware. It’s OK now developers only have to jump back one generation to reach a large customer base but what happens next generation when you still have people that like Fortnite and all the other games as a service you know the ones that are constantly at the top of the list of money makers every month , what happens then? You have to really ask yourself. How does Sony make money in the upcoming environment today’s environment they are doing fine but in 10 years I can tell you they are really trying to figure out. How are we going to make money and it does not look good because everything is going upto consumers. It’s very difficult to keep those cost down. Just look at the price of a PS five right now. And ask yourself why hasn’t the price gone down yet? It’s only been four years.
I’ve been seeing so many people who are buying the PS5 pro and basically dismissing those who aren’t by saying it’s because others are poor. A lot of rhetoric is basically “I have money so I’m getting it, and you don’t that’s why you’re not”. It’s incredibly dismissive and doesn’t address the normalization of these inflated prices. It is sad that some people can’t realize that they are the target audience, in a bad way, of Sony’s pricing choices.
They lack the knowledge to understand that they're actually part of the problem and are so blind to it that they get defensive when we tell them it's overpriced. Textbook sheep mentality.
My prediction for Sony... They will move towards a fusion of both Xbox and Nintendo strategies. A few years from now we will hear about a new PS App that has greater streaming functionality with a pricing model similar to Gamepass that can be accessed on any TV or PC. Not long after that, they will announce a hybrid console (PS6 possibly) that you can take on the go and play games natively or on the PS App via wifi connection. The games will perform at PS5 quality, but the main draw will be the streaming capability and ability to take it on the go with you.
Really disappointed in the decision to spoil the ending of starfield guys, so much so I actually turned off the video. I do generally enjoy your content but spoiling the games we play especially the recent releases just pisses us off
Probably gonna skip on a ps6 if it's not a bigger jump and just start my pc journey at that point. I don't see ps6 dropping with anything less than a $600 price tag.
What’s missing from this conversation is prediction how will Xbox grow. They pumped lot of money into their game development, like Sony did in PS2/PS3 era. You need few years for it to show results. Besides Halo and Starfield we didn’t get anything big. All those system sellers are still in production. Xbox now has Blizzard and this is a vault of IPs. Xbox changed its exclusive strategy, because of a game market situation. Pandemic had an impact on game development, process of buying Activision also took longer than expected. There will come time, when Xbox will be releasing 3-4 hit games per year. Like Sony did, when their dev machine started to churn out great games. It can change the situation drastically. And maybe then, those Xbox releases on other platforms will be limited. Sony is a market leader, but they know nothing is written in stone. That’s why the push towards live-service games. They want to prepare, for what’s coming, that is Xbox main offensive. I don’t think the future of gaming will be: PS6 or PC and Switch 2 for the road. I think current market will evolve, but with same main participants.
From what I understand ps3 games ran on very unique hardware. So the games would need tons of work individually to run on PS5 or they need to find a way to create a emulator that can fake the unique properties and run correctly.
Well they probably don’t actually want to sell any. It will cost them more money to manufacture Pros than the base units. The pro only exists because people were talking about it, and it will probably sell out, but Sony don’t want that because then they have to make more. Sony gain no advantage from the pro being available, especially since there is seemingly no Xbox equivalent on the horizon.

Sony should ditch the R&D for ps6 and focus on making and releasing games for THIS generation. Games look good enough. Support the devices they have now like ps5 and psvr2 for the next 10 years. Flood them with reasons to buy it and they will drown themselves in profits. Especially if they can lower the price of the ps5 over time and bring in more people at the entry level. Then in 15 years when there is something worthy of a "next generation " develop a ps6. Small increases in resolution and more framerates needing $2000 TVs to achieve which adds nearly nothing to the experience when they should be focused on making vr games because people still don't seem to understand that vr is the only way we sre going to get a true NEW generation of games. I still feel like I'm playing ps3 games with marginally better graphics. Game design needs an overhaul not console design.
R&D is a different division than the one that is in charge of game development. The existence of one division has nothing to do with the existence of the other.

I think PS5 did have a wave of games at annoncement. COVID just depayed a lot of games. Some are still not out from that 2020 showcase.
Stellar blade is so underrated. Fantastic year in gaming for PS5
It’s a shame that Stellar Blade and Black Myth will both probably be looked over for GOTY as they are definitely two of the years best.
