    I adore their online store. I had no idea they had a YTchannel... Their store has everything a sewer/ designer could wish for. High quality, hard to find items, and things you never even knew existed. It’s an amazing resource.

    Great video! After several viewings, I've decided to try. What is the purpose of the arbitrary cuts that are made into the shoulder line on the canvas, horsehair, and shoulder piece?

      Wonderful! You've decided to try! The purpose of the cuts in the shoulder line are to allow the canvas to mold to the body better, and also to not prevent movement of the arm. When Artur says the darts "should walk", he means that they should be able to open and close like an accordion, as is needed for the movement of the arm.

    A steady hand required to follow the pieces of any jacket, shirt, pants, etc. The experienced tailor seems to have sizes and measurement canvas ready for the customer.

    Does the hymo, hair canvas, and domett come pre-shrunk?

    • @biasbespoke
      @biasbespoke  2 года назад

      Horsehair canvas and domette don't need to be pre-shrunk. Hymo usually does not come pre-shrunk, so it's always a good idea to get it wet and hang it to dry before you put it into a coat. And even in the rare case that a hymo you find has been washed already (we sell one or two hymos like this), it's never bad to wash it again. Fabrics are continually changing over the course of their lives, but they shrink a lot at first and then a little less each time they dry.

    F.y.i., the L ruler that’s you mentioned is called a framing square, or sometimes a carpenters square. Hope this helps.

    how many yards of fabric is need for a whole suit?

    • @biasbespoke
      @biasbespoke  2 года назад

      For a two-piece suit, it's usually 3.5-4 yards.

    • @biasbespoke
      @biasbespoke  2 года назад

      Do you mean the "fashion" fabric, not the interlining? That depends on the size of the person, the width of the fabric, and whether it is 2 piece or 3 piece (with a vest). Generally for a 2 piece suit it's about 4 yards, and for a 3-piece suit it's often about 4.5-5 yards.

      @@biasbespoke do you know where I can go to mix fabrics like silk and wool and make a suit out of it of my own custom fabrics or something like that or would you guys be able to do that?

    • @biasbespoke
      @biasbespoke  2 года назад

      @@p120 Do you mean that you're looking to buy fabrics? There are many fabric stores, and I don't feel comfortable recommending any here. We don't currently sell fashion fabrics, and as tailors we aren't taking any new clients at this time.
