I was pitching and flipn a football jig a while back. I noticed every time I would reel if in I would get bit. I began using the football jig as a swim bait and had a good day of fishing.
I have limited my youtube watching videos for fishing to a small handful of creators and got rid of the rest and cut the rest. your videos made the cut short to the point and packed full of information on each video. I like the technique specific videos the most, either as a refresher or new to try.
I've built confidence in the swim jig recently, and even caught my pb largemouth and white bass within 3 casts of each other on a compact 1/4oz white swim jig yesterday. And the way I fished it was similar to as you described, just making short casts, though not necessarily pitches, as i'm fishing from the bank so it was more like 10-12 foot casts fan casting in a wind blown cove where there was a lot of shad activity and a ton of grass, and I was just casting it out and immediately retrieving it with some rod shakes and pops and I had probably one of my best days of fishing this fall so far.
Man that makes a lot of sense. That’s how I fish a Texas sometimes, but letting it sink to the bottom obviously. I’ll try this Sat when I get to fish again.
I fished with Jimmy Houston. He was tight to the cover and roll casting and pitching spinner baits. Try as I might , I couldn’t keep up with him. I still use this technique with swim jigs, bladed jigs , spinner baits and yes occasionally crank baits. Thanks for the tips and the videos. Tight lines and Godspeed.
Great videos! You are my favorite RUclips angler. I have a great idea for a video. Come to Lake Lawtonka in Oklahoma and new bass fisherman fishing. The one I have in mind needs a lot of your help....lol
Ok…. First off, love the stuff, been a subscriber for a while. With that being said, I have a challenge for you -- do a video sitting on your hands… I don’t think you can! LOL.
So, doesn't it spook the fish being that close..I can, in all reality, pitch about 15 feet even remotely accurately. I can skip it a further distance. Working such a short distance shrinks your path of strikes. Yes, you can hit multiple targets quickly, but allot of hits are from followers. So a less talented fisherman has a better chance with a larger strike path and less effort.. correct?

I had a very similar day, and they wanted it as fast as I could reel it.

Love your videos! I think a lot of bass, especially BIG BASS, are caught by anglers using fundamental presentations to perfection!

Hahahahahaah you are probably correct
Tyler - do you actually fish that pink swim jig and trailer?
@@AyCee21 yes…try it next prespawn/spawn. They love a pink floating worm. Same concept
@@TylerBergerFishinginteresting, will do. I dont recall even seeing a pink swim jig for sale anywhere.
It's no different than using a football jig and you were doing that you can do the same thing with that but you can't swim it on
English and grammar next time
using a swim jig from the bank is a nightmare.
Keep trying I had to get comfortable and confident on retrieves etc. But I throw them 80percent of the time now pre and post spawn
Try using lighter Swimjigs . I throw a 1/4 Oz or 3/16 Oz Swimjig from shore with good success
I enjoy listening to you, but I don’t see much on the lake showing what you’re teaching
This channel is all talking head style videos. If you check out my other channel BassFishingHQ there is a lot more on the water

Flip side is a less experienced angler won’t be as accurate with their casts and won’t hit those high percentage spots with a longer cast
