Feeling quite choked again! I was very fortunate to attend Alyn's last lecture/book signing in Wales before he left the country. After several years following his channel, it was a true privilege to connect in person, the passion he had to share for the night sky to all. It is the likes of Alyn and yourself that inspire so many of us to look up at night in wonderment. With this in mind, I feel the best gift of Alyn's book would be to the younger generation. A talk by yourself perhaps to inspire some younger souls, and the book handed to them and kept in a school library! Thank you for the dedication that you put into your channel Richard, we all appreciate it immensely👍
Thank you so much Richard. Alyn was a true treasure to our art. He loved the science, the tech, and the art. It came through in every one of his episodes...
Very heartfelt tribute to Alyn Wallace, the other astro photographer that I followed. He was generous with his knowledge as are you. Thank you for this video.
Wonderful tribute to such an amazing teacher. I started photographing the night sky after my children have all grown and left the nest. It is creators like you and Alyn that have inspired me the most. A grandmother with a camera who adores the night sky. And now Alyn is forever one of the brightest stars. ✨
Ellen will definitely be missed and it’s very nice of you to give a book away. I think you should give it to the library for everybody to look at. Keep up the good work thank you.
Looks like a great trip. Terribly sad to hear about Alyn, so young and so talented. He's left a wonderful legacy which will live on and bring joy and inspiration to so many of us.
Certainly looked a fab tour with great images. Alyn & yourself are such an inspiration to many followers, will so sadly be missed.lovely tribute Richard take care
Good stuf Richard, I coud feel the emotion in your voice when you spoke about Alyn, the emotion many of us have felt and still feel, I never met him but have messsaged him on a couple of occasions and he seemed like the most genuine down to earth talented guy you could meet. RIP Alyn
Excellent images. That book, what a legacy, we should be grateful Alan committed his knowledge to paper. Like you the sadness of the loss of a young generous man
Thank you Richard for the Tribute to Alyn Wallace, I was shocked when I heard about his premature disappearance, He left a Galactic legacy for everyone who loved NightScape Photography, I will really miss all his videos especially (What's in the Night Sky). Fantastic Photos as always, from Tansmania's Landscapes and NightScape Photography. A Deepest Hug to All NightScape and Alyn Wallace's Family.
Great tribute Richard, amazing 🙏. Such a very gifted talented young man taken too soon. We’re all feeling a great loss. Alyn’s beneficiaries has recently updated the website continuing his legacy with an updated reprint available. Furthermore, I think you’re the best candidate to continue Alyn’s monthly Astro report “What’s in the night sky”.
Thank you for sharing those amazing photos of Tasmania. I know of a man who would just love the copy of Alyn Wallace book. My friend has suffered from mental illness in the past 10 years, but is a keen photographer and this helps his outlook on life. He follows your videos and has taken some amazing night photos himself, but as a pensioner is unable to afford to attend your workshops at this time. He lives on the Gold Coast. He would really appreciate the amazing book and the inspiration it will give him to continue his hobby
Thank you for your tribute on Alyn Wallace. I would like to share with you how influential he was in helping me start into astrophotography. What made both him and you standout among the hundreds of photography RUclipsrs was your realness, humility and sharing your knowledge. You didn't need a stick to draw an audience. Both of you made sure to acknowledge when someone commented on your video, bought a calendar, print or book. Showcasing your audience work on your channel. I will miss him and hope his stardust will join the tail of a comet and pay us a visit in the Night Sky. ❤
That's so very nice of you to say Francesca. I never met Alyn but I did speak online with him on a number of occasions. .for a young man he had a very mature head on his shoulders and always displayed humility and kindness to everyone. I think he was a once in a lifetime kind of person.
The first two nightscape photographers I started to follow were you and Alyn. I’m not sure who I found first but both of you have been inspirational. Alyn’s technical explanations, his generous sharing of his knowledge of the night sky and the content of his book have helped me enormously. I will miss his monthly WITNS segment.
Beautifully said Richard, and so kind of you to remember Alyn. He truly was so very talented ( as you all are ) and his ability to share is knowledge with the astro loving community will always be remembered. Maybe you can even take the kids onto a simple daylight photo trip and share your wonderful passion with them. At the end you might hand over the book and a make it a wonderful, memorable day. 🤗😊

As a long-term subscriber to your channel, I appreciate all your work and admire your skills and generosity. What a kind tribute to Alyn, Richard. R.I.P. Alyn. I know a person who would love Alyn´s book. He is a good friend but also the person who helped me to start with photography and the one who showed me how beautiful night photography is. But he has also helped many people in Spain - Spanish speakers with his wiling to help people. Even if he doesn't understand English so much but always makes his best to understand all what you say. And I know that this book would mean incredibly much to him as a reward for helping so many people without getting anything back.
Alyn was a special soul who was so generous with his knowledge and vision, definitely gone too soon. I’ll tell you, I’d love to have a copy of his book, his vision was so inspiring! 📸😎
Hard to not watch this and shed tears over our loss to the nightscape community. Your tribute was heartfelt and well done. I hope you find a worthy recipient for his book. Thank you for all you do and I look forward to your next adventure!
Thank you Richard for a great video and a beautiful tribute to Alyn! You and he are reasons I go out and shoot even in bortle 5 skies…rest easy Alyn…you touched so many lives in a short 34 years. God’s Speed!!!
I still tear up when I think about Alyn……huge loss for the whole community , left a huge gap in our souls . Such beautiful, talented , humble and inspiring heart that shared knowledge with such passion ….so very sad 😔 RIP Alyn
I couldn't believe it at first when I heard the sad news about Ayn. I didn't know him personaly but had communicated with him a few times and he seemed to be a really nice guy. There are very few people with such knowledge and the ability to spread this knowledge, so he will be badly missed. Thankfully we still have you Richard, so stay well and keep eating those rum balls. I loved the photos, I actually reckognised a number of the locations from your previous videos.
I'm still in disbelief that Alyn is no longer with us. Alyn's book looks brilliant, and how incredibly generous that someone donated a copy to give away! I am hoping to get a copy when they do a reprint. RIP Alyn. Some wonderful images from Tassie Richard - fingers crossed for clear skies ahead.
Touching words Richard. It does cause us to stop and think about what really matters when young people are taken too early and don't have the chance to live a fuller life. Your Tassie adventure trip looks great 👍🏻
Thanks Richard, very sad to hear of Alyn's passing... I am thinking of him every time I look up now and appreciate the fact that I am here. Dont know anyone special for the book, but I am sure it will go to a good home 🌟✌️🌻
Alyn was truly an icon in MW photography, loved his Arches tour and still recall his time in Turkey perched on a cliff with the move-shoot-move. I got the jitters, just watching. I'm not surpised that he reached out to you for his book as you are both master in your own wheelhouse. Totally tracking about stepping back and taking a hard look as Alyn was way to young. Glad to see that you are out running guided tours again, must be an amazing experience and a treat to help others in person.
I love your work. I flew down for the night on 11 May 2024 for the Aurora and was at the Great Ocean Road and was commenting to a stranger, who wanted to light paint next to me and I said gee I watch this guy on the internet who is a master at this. I was talking to Levin! So I met him and he me told of his connection to you. Small world! And he also discussed the workshops!
Very nice tribute to Alyn, Richard. We are all sadden with his passing. I learned great deal from him. Last week, I did a Milky Way arch for the first time using Alyn's Z flex 360° head. Everything went pretty well. I am sure he was helping me from above.
Thanks for a nice shout out to Alyn Wallace. It was truly a shock to receive this sad news. Whats in the nightsky was a standing youtube video that I watched regularly. Missed but certainly not forgotten. Thank you Ritchard for your videos which are very good and educational. I've probably seen them all. Greetings from Kiruna, in northern Sweden
A lovely & moving tribute Richard. I understand the loss too well. Yourself in person, Alyn from a distance and others, have helped my journey with this most wonderful passion we all share. Looking at the stars I feel both how small we are but how vast & beautiful the universe is, with the joy it brings in healing and solace it gives. Take care my friend and thank you for all you also do for the wider community so generously💙💙
I have watched both your channels for years! The episode of Alyn's channel that I thought was my favorite was when he went out into his backyard(garden as he called it) in the first few weeks of the pandemic and pointed his camera into his local light polluted sky in the UK. The next night I did the same thing on my light polluted deck in North America. As we were all pondering what the weeks /months or years ahead would bring, it made me get thru those early days. He was supposed to speak at Night Scaper's Conference in Utah this year and I was looking forward to passing that story to him and thanking him!
Well done Richard, a very nice tribute to wonderful Alyn. His passing left me very sad as well. Hope you get an aurora next visit to Tasmania, it is going great at the moment, timing is everything!
Alyn is someone I will always give a moment of thought to when photographing the night sky. Such a cool and enquiring character. I regret not buying his book while he was still alive. If it hasn't been suggested already, maybe you could auction or raffle the book with proceeds going to the Leukaemia Foundation or such. Of course, giving it to someone is also a lovely idea.
I never met Alyn but his videos inspired me to get into Astrophotography, since having no experience in any type of photography now I begin my journey into it. I purchased a canon 6d and a samyang 24mm F1.4. I purchased his book and presets. being from South Wales I I am going to visit Alyns stamping ground from the Gower to the brecon becons. Thank you Alyn you inspired me to seek my own astrophotography journey, may God be with you and R.I.P now you can fly with the stars you loved so much THANK YOU
Thank you Richard for your kind and beautiful tribute to Alyn. He was so talented and so young. I was saddened to hear of his passing. He will be missed by many.
Excellent collection of photographs, Alyn was a amazing young man RIP. I would love his book. There all sold out. Think you have a new love with tours Thanks for your video and time
Im very sorry for the lost of Alyn Wallace, excellent photographer, great inspiratio for. Thanks God we still have Richard Tatti, an amazing astrophotographer and inspiring teacher of nightscape images. Amazing photos from Tasmania tour!.
I didn't know Alyn had a book! Not that I followed him that closely, but I was/am subscribed to his channel. And of course, I'm so sorry to hear of his passing. It's a tragedy at such a young age. I can't even imagine what he might have achieved in a longer career. Here's hoping his work continues to inspire many, many photographers to cherish the night sky.
Richard, thanks for the tribute to Alyn. Both of you have been such an influence on my astrophotography journey - I actually found out about Alan’s passing through the comments on your previous video - Alyn will be sorely missed by all but leaves behind an incredible legacy of videos, books and inspiration. RIP Alyn - gone too soon.
Thank you Richard, a truly touching tribute to someone like yourself have pioneered the art of Astro photography especially Nightscape imaging. Your Tasmania trip looked awesome and that is seen from the fruits of your efforts, those images are spectacular. Thank you so much Richard for your contribution. 🙏
Great tribute to Alyn Richard , he gave us all so much over a very short time. Thank you for this video about him . I would suggest giving his book to a young person who is interested in Astrophotography. His book teaches so much about camera gear and lenses a young person could really lern very quickly about this hobby. His book has alot if info on DSLR 's which are very low in cost on the used market . That unfortunately alone could realy help a person looking enter into Astrophotography.
A fitting tribute to Alyn, Richard. It is amazing how we all become bound together in our interests ands passions through RUclips and also share grief as a community. Thank you for your efforts.
Alyn's passing was a real shock - my daughter is the same age. I'd love a copy of the book, I'm quite early on in my astro journey, and it seems like there's always more to learn. Thanks for your videos they are always informative and engaging.
Hi Richard, thanks for the great tribute to Alyn. I would like to nominate a keen young Tasmanian photographer Larissa Hill-Moore who has recently started on her photographic journey in life and has a keen interest in night photography. This book would give her great inspiration in her photographic pursuit. Thanks once again for sharing your wonderful videos.
I am pleased that you showed the photo of the gentleman using his phone to capture an image. It shows the old adage that" the best camera in the world is the one you have in your hand". I used mine quite a bit on a recent trip to Perth WA when it wasn't convenient to take my mirrorless kit with me.
I think a lot of us who love and do astro realise how fleeting the moments can be to capture the spectacular nights, and Alyn's passing has emphasized how much life imitates that. A nice tribute Richard.
Great tribute to Alyn, Richard, he truly will be missed by all of us that capture the night sky and i for 1 have tried to get out more than previous years since his passing to honour his work and just today have 2 farms pencilled in for a total of 7 individual images to shoot. Man what an amazing next step in your personal journey as a nightscape teacher to be teaming up doing tours on top of your usual workshops, so huge congratulations to you and i wish you all the best within that adventure
@@nightscapeimages.richard hey Richard I've actually got a question for you if you don't mind me asking When you were stacking your images in sequator before getting into tracking did you edit the sky images first and save as tiffs before sending to sequator and then do a bit more processing, or did you just stack the RAW images and then edit the image produced by sequator? I'm not sure I'm extracting the most out of the sky by stacking fully edited images saved as tiffs, but the image from stacking RAW images doesn't seem to edit anywhere near as well but mind you I'm only using gimp because canon dpp4 doesn't recognise the stacked image even though its a tiff. I hope this makes sense
@@robertleeimages I always do some editing before I make the tiff's for Sequator. I found they look better in the final result. Not sure about Gimp though .. never used it.
@@nightscapeimages.richard exactly what i have found also, gimp has curves and levels etc but from stacked raw it just makes a mess of them compared to when i do a bit more to stacked tiffs. Cheers for the confirmation and reassurance Richard, appreciate it
@@nightscapeimages.richard I never met him we did chat on the phone we tried meeting up 3 times it never came off I so wish i had met him again RIP Wally
Although I never met Alyn, I learned a great deal via his videos and his outstanding book. I thought about Alyn wondering how he'd photograph the solar eclipse we experienced last week in the US. Strange, a few days before I left home to go on my trip I ran across Alyn's Chile solar eclipse blog post and video. I watched the video a few times plus read the blog learning a few more tips I could use during the eclipse. A few days later I learned Alyn passed away. RIP Alyn! Richard, loved your trip photos and I suspect your workshop went home very happy.
Nice tribute to Alyn! With respect to receiving Alyn's book, I would like to nominate my Astronomy Club, the Astronomical Society of Geelong. Many of us do various kinds of Astrophotography, so it will be accessible to several interested people.
Wounderful job Richard in the kind words for Alan! I started following him a little before following you!!! He was a Sony shooter and so am I. I remember clearly asking him for advice about a particular lens to buy for astronomical photography! Based on his recommendations I got that lens! I've never had the chance to use it because covid-19 hit!!!! I have no one to recommend for the book but myself!!! His Instagram said that after the stock sells out, there will a lot of red tape before more books can be made available!!!! He was a great person!!! I have learned a lot from the both of you over the years!!!! Thank you!!!!
@@nightscapeimages.richard I also have a signed hardback book of his when he announced it and I could tell that he was very fond of your work also when I stumbled upon it in his book. When I was flipping through I stopped on a page where the image gave me deja vu, and then realized I knew it was yours. The collaboration of talent made me so happy to see 💕
Wonderful photographs as always Richard. Thank you for the heartfelt tribute to Alyn, he was a shining star in the world of astrophotography and our world is lesser without him. Such a tragically short life but one that has influenced millions of people and endeared him to our hearts. His legacy will live on not only in his own body of work, but in the photographs of everyone he shared his knowledge with RIP Alyn💔
That's a lovely tribute, Richard. I was lucky enough to have met him at one of his lectures, and he signed my copy of his book. He will certainly be missed, but his legacy will survive. On a lighter note, he referred to you as "the legend down under" 🙂 Thanks, Richard, and RIP Alyn.
I discovered Alyn Wallace's WITNS videos over a year ago and became inspired to try and get a Milky Way photo. I loved his enthusiasm. I only have my cell phone and still have not made the jump to buy a camera. I was on the fence about buying the book because of the shipping price being so high. I thought it would be available at a bookstore. I even asked our library if they could order it, but they don't deal with that publisher. As indecisive as I was about the book, I am also the same about camera gear.
Gone too soon, his life makes it clear that you should grab every moment, we should do now, rather than waiting. I got my canon 6d because of him and the z and v plates for my omegon star tracker. Thanks to Alyn for his great contributions and for showing how you make the most of every opportunity.
@@nightscapeimages.richard would love to do a workshop with you...... But out of my budget, flights on top of workshop and time, I'm only allowed to take school holidays as I work in a special school, I'll look forward to seeing your pics
Wow, did not know that Alan passed until I watched this video. A very sad moment - love goes out to his family. Also, glad you are back safe from your trip and your trip went well.
Hi Richard, thank you for tribute to Alyn. As is the case with your work and videos, Alyn's videos always made my day brighter. It's been two weeks since I heard the sad news and I still can't believe he is gone. RIP Alyn
Great tribute Richard. I always looked forward to his monthly video about What’s In The Night Sky. You and he have both been wonderful influences on my photography. I think donating the book to a local school or maybe a photography club would be awesome. Thanks.
Hi Richard, Alyn's departure was most unexpected and sudden. He will be missed by all in the nightscaping photographic community. He always had something interesting to share on his RUclips channel. A tragic loss! With regards to your Tasmanian Adventure, it certainly looks like you all had a great time with plenty of great images to remember the tour by. 😎😁😊
Richard what's a lovely think to do. Alyn will be proud of you for sure. Alyn was from the same town as me and he put our little village on the map. You both my go to for night photography I'd watch both your videos and venture out into the night and have learned so much for you guys. Thanks ever so much.. also this is just a idea and I think Alyn would be honoured if you could you do what's in the nights sky? I feel lost without these videos from alyn as it would prepare us for what's coming.. up... i think only you could do this.. Thanks Richard take extra care around 🙏🤝
Richard, the example of Alyn extends to you. What you observed as people around the world reacted to his death and work shows how he influenced and touched people. It is valid for you too. How important your work is to people worldwide. I love him and you too! Amazing community we are.

Yes I think we all do, especially when out under the stars.
34, a year younger than my daughter. Puts things in perspective. RIP Alyn
Yes it sure does Rowland
I couldn't believe it at first when I heard the sad news about Ayn. I didn't know him personaly but had communicated with him a few times and he seemed to be a really nice guy. There are very few people with such knowledge and the ability to spread this knowledge, so he will be badly missed. Thankfully we still have you Richard, so stay well and keep eating those rum balls. I loved the photos, I actually reckognised a number of the locations from your previous videos.
You're very kind as always David. I think Alyn was a once in a lifetime kind of guy and we will all miss him greatly.
Thanks Julie, me too ..!!!
Touching words Richard. It does cause us to stop and think about what really matters when young people are taken too early and don't have the chance to live a fuller life.
Your Tassie adventure trip looks great 👍🏻
Thanks Murray. And your generous donation of Alyn's book will be very much appreciated as well mate.
Thanks Richard, very sad to hear of Alyn's passing... I am thinking of him every time I look up now and appreciate the fact that I am here.
Dont know anyone special for the book, but I am sure it will go to a good home 🌟✌️🌻
Thanks so much Rod
You and Alyn are two references that I have for night photography... He will be missed
We will all miss him greatly Antonio
So well done Richard, very kind tribute to Alyn. We certainly will all miss him.
Yes absolutely William
RIP Alyn Wallace, you are know floating among the stars you chased
So true William
I can't believe Alyn is no longer with us. He was simply inspirational. Rip Alyn
Yes so true Peter
Nice tribute Richard. ❤ Alyn will be missed so much.
Thanks so much
Alyn was truly an icon in MW photography, loved his Arches tour and still recall his time in Turkey perched on a cliff with the move-shoot-move.
Really appreciate your comments Robb
Alyn was a a true talent and he inspired so many of us and his book and his videos will be an invaluable resource for years to come
That's so true Scotty
I love your work. I flew down for the night on 11 May 2024 for the Aurora and was at the Great Ocean Road and was commenting to a stranger, who wanted to light paint next to me and I said gee I watch this guy on the internet who is a master at this. I was talking to Levin! So I met him and he me told of his connection to you. Small world! And he also discussed the workshops!
Haha, yes it sure is a small world Jason . .!!!
Rest in Stars ✨ Alyn
Thanks for looking Akash
Very nice tribute to Alyn, Richard. We are all sadden with his passing. I learned great deal from him. Last week, I did a Milky Way arch for the first time using Alyn's Z flex 360° head. Everything went pretty well. I am sure he was helping me from above.
Thanks for watching Toan. Glad it went well.
Thanks so much my friend. Yes the WITNS sure will be greatly missed.
I have only just watched this video, A great tribute to Alyn and most of your tour shows familiar locations with fabulous results.
Thanks so much Steven. Alyn will surely be greatly missed.
Your comments are very much appreciated Manjul.
We're all brothers with hour hobby, like in a great enlarged family... Sad sad loss. Still can't believe... Special tribute.
Thanks so much David
I have watched both your channels for years! The episode of Alyn's channel that I thought was my favorite was when he went out into his backyard(garden as he called it) in the first few weeks of the pandemic and pointed his camera into his local light polluted sky in the UK. The next night I did the same thing on my light polluted deck in North America. As we were all pondering what the weeks /months or years ahead would bring, it made me get thru those early days. He was supposed to speak at Night Scaper's Conference in Utah this year and I was looking forward to passing that story to him and thanking him!
That's a great memory Jim. Such a shame but his videos live on.
Well done Richard, a very nice tribute to wonderful Alyn. His passing left me very sad as well. Hope you get an aurora next visit to Tasmania, it is going great at the moment, timing is everything!
Thanks so much Kim. Yes I keep missing out on the Tassie auroras. .maybe next time.
Thank you Richard for an absolutely fabulous Tour to Tasmania. A lovely tribute to Alyn Wallace, a person generous with his knowledge, just like you.
You're always so kind Barb, thank you.
Thanks for watching, another great suggestion.
Thank you Alyn you inspired me to seek my own astrophotography journey, may God be with you and R.I.P now you can fly with the stars you loved so much THANK YOU
Great words Craig. I appreciate you watching.
Thank you Richard for your kind and beautiful tribute to Alyn. He was so talented and so young. I was saddened to hear of his passing. He will be missed by many.
Yes that is so true Tony.
a very empathic tribute to Alyn Wallace
thx Richard
Thanks as always my friend.
A lovely tribute to Alyn. Great photos from your tour!
Many thanks Darrel
Excellent collection of photographs, Alyn was a amazing young man RIP.
I would love his book. There all sold out. Think you have a new love with tours
Thanks for your video and time
Thanks Phillip. Well I just love Tasmania it seems ..!!!!
@nightscapeimages.richard I love Sheffield and my next trip will ne north west area.
@@PhillipMcCallum Yes Sheffield is a favourite of mine also.
Im very sorry for the lost of Alyn Wallace, excellent photographer, great inspiratio for. Thanks God we still have Richard Tatti, an amazing astrophotographer and inspiring teacher of nightscape images. Amazing photos from Tasmania tour!.
You're very kind Luis
Rest amongst the stars, Alyn.
Thanks Chris
wonderful thoughts for Alyn & his contributions to Astro photography will endure RIP💐
Thanks heaps Brett
Great tribute to a great photographer 👏👏👏👏
Really appreciate that Brian
I didn't know Alyn had a book! Not that I followed him that closely, but I was/am subscribed to his channel. And of course, I'm so sorry to hear of his passing. It's a tragedy at such a young age. I can't even imagine what he might have achieved in a longer career. Here's hoping his work continues to inspire many, many photographers to cherish the night sky.
Thanks so much. Yes cut down in the prime of his life.
Thanks so much Andy. Appreciate your support.
Thanks for your kind words Paul.
Great suggestion Sean. I'll continue pondering.
A fitting tribute to Alyn, Richard. It is amazing how we all become bound together in our interests ands passions through RUclips and also share grief as a community. Thank you for your efforts.
Thanks so much for your kind insights Mark, really appreciated.
Alyn's passing was a real shock - my daughter is the same age. I'd love a copy of the book, I'm quite early on in my astro journey, and it seems like there's always more to learn. Thanks for your videos they are always informative and engaging.
Thanks so much Carl
Hi Richard, thanks for the great tribute to Alyn. I would like to nominate a keen young Tasmanian photographer Larissa Hill-Moore who has recently started on her photographic journey in life and has a keen interest in night photography. This book would give her great inspiration in her photographic pursuit. Thanks once again for sharing your wonderful videos.
Really appreciate that Jim, thanks for watching.
Cheers from Okanagan valley British Columbia 🇨🇦
Appreciate you watching as always Rick
I am pleased that you showed the photo of the gentleman using his phone to capture an image. It shows the old adage that" the best camera in the world is the one you have in your hand". I used mine quite a bit on a recent trip to Perth WA when it wasn't convenient to take my mirrorless kit with me.
Yes that's a good point Barry. I think we all used our phones a lot on this trip.
I think a lot of us who love and do astro realise how fleeting the moments can be to capture the spectacular nights, and Alyn's passing has emphasized how much life imitates that. A nice tribute Richard.
Yes that is very true my friend.
Thanks as always for your great comments Rob. I'm actually trying to slow down a bit so we'll see how that goes ..!!!
@@nightscapeimages.richard hey Richard I've actually got a question for you if you don't mind me asking
When you were stacking your images in sequator before getting into tracking did you edit the sky images first and save as tiffs before sending to sequator and then do a bit more processing, or did you just stack the RAW images and then edit the image produced by sequator?
Cheers for the confirmation and reassurance Richard, appreciate it
RIP Alyn he was such a lovely bloke
Yes he sure was Michael
Yes I have also been re-watching Alyn's videos .. a great loss for sure.
Nice tribute to Alyn!
With respect to receiving Alyn's book, I would like to nominate my Astronomy Club, the Astronomical Society of Geelong. Many of us do various kinds of Astrophotography, so it will be accessible to several interested people.
Thanks for watching Athanasia, it's another great suggestion.
I really appreciate your kind words Marvin.
Wonderful content as always Richard, and a beautiful tribute to Alyn Wallace. R.I.P. 🥀
Thanks so much Laura
@@nightscapeimages.richard I also have a signed hardback book of his when he announced it and I could tell that he was very fond of your work also when I stumbled upon it in his book. When I was flipping through I stopped on a page where the image gave me deja vu, and then realized I knew it was yours. The collaboration of talent made me so happy to see 💕
@@laurag9306 Thanks again Laura
I worked at Cradle Mountain Lodge many years ago & would "attempt " to take images of Cradle Mountain......the ones here are breathtaking.... RIP Alyn
It's a spectacular part of the world Paul, that's for sure.
Thanks so much for your kind words.
Hi Richard another nice video. Lovely tribute to alyn have fun back in tassie see you in the next one
I'll do my best . .thank you.
Haha, yes I remember him saying that . .Thanks Simon.
Thanks for watching Craig. Yes Alyn's passing is a great loss.
Gone too soon, his life makes it clear that you should grab every moment, we should do now, rather than waiting. I got my canon 6d because of him and the z and v plates for my omegon star tracker. Thanks to Alyn for his great contributions and for showing how you make the most of every opportunity.
Thanks so much Suzie. Always appreciate your great support.
@@nightscapeimages.richard would love to do a workshop with you...... But out of my budget, flights on top of workshop and time, I'm only allowed to take school holidays as I work in a special school, I'll look forward to seeing your pics
@@andysuzierawlins5462 I appreciate your support as always Suzie
Wow, did not know that Alan passed until I watched this video. A very sad moment - love goes out to his family. Also, glad you are back safe from your trip and your trip went well.
Thanks Kerry. Always appreciate your support.
Hi Richard, thank you for tribute to Alyn. As is the case with your work and videos, Alyn's videos always made my day brighter. It's been two weeks since I heard the sad news and I still can't believe he is gone. RIP Alyn
Thanks so much for your kind words Peter. It sure does make you stop and think about what is really important in life doesn't it.
Great tribute Richard. I always looked forward to his monthly video about What’s In The Night Sky. You and he have both been wonderful influences on my photography. I think donating the book to a local school or maybe a photography club would be awesome. Thanks.
Thanks Brian. That's a common suggestion and a great one.
Yes so true indeed Geoff. Thanks heaps for checking it out mate.
Thanks for your kind words. Alyn was indeed a true legend. No-one could do Whats in the Night Sky as well as Alyn.
Richard, the example of Alyn extends to you. What you observed as people around the world reacted to his death and work shows how he influenced and touched people. It is valid for you too. How important your work is to people worldwide. I love him and you too! Amazing community we are.
Your kind words are always appreciated Raphael
I was shocked and saddened with the sudden news of this loss. Thanks so much for the tribute.
