Thats so cool- I didn’t know you could do those wood details on walls. I was lucky in having an old house that had moldings on the walls like that as well as matching floorboards and a running thick mold that splits the wall into 2/3 and 1/3. This made me appreciate those details in my old house ☺️ thanks Jen

I think your second bedroom would make a fantastic office space, with enough room to fit a sofa bed making it a functional bedroom when needed. Consider fitting a glass door with a blind or curtain for privacy when needed, but when not it would allow you to keep what light you can coming through to the dining area. The storage closet next to the dining room would definitely be better utilised by making a larger dining room if thats still an option (wasn't clear if that wall was load bearing). If you can't lose the closet wall, I think you could get plumbing in there to make it into a laundry room/utility which would give you much needed storage too. Alternative laundry options would be losing the shower in the guest bath and putting your machines in that space instead, or as you say putting them into the entry way closet although be careful of losing too much general closet/storage space. Getting the laundry machines out of the kitchen is a must imo, it would give you a huge pantry cupboard in the kitchen instead and allow you to not notice the loss of your upper cabinets on the adjoing wall between kitchen and living space, because even if the best you could do is a large window style opening I would absolutely do this, I really think you'll regret it if you don't. It will allow natural light which you currently don't have into the kitchen and be much more social. You will also be able to see your TV when in there cooking which makes quite a difference in enjoying kitchen activities when you're not a natural cook 😋. Best of luck with your renovations, already seeing great progress and I'm exited to see how it all turns out!

That's why I did colour theory research for whenever I paint walls. My living room is a medium grey since most movie theatres use it because it's relaxing. I was going to paint it pastel blue but apparently that's also hospital vibes.

Somebody may have said this already, but the wall moldings/paneling of that kind are called wainscotting! This phrase works for the entire wall, or just half the wall with paneling. The French call it Boiserie (or so it was referred to in the 18th Century as you mentioned - and ranged from simple to quite ornate moldings). Almost all my Sims houses have wainscotting on the wall to add a bit of texture/visual interest.

Get the long bar thing (um idk what it’s called😅), it connects with the paint roller handle. Trust me it’s gonna be so much faster to paint a whole wall!!!

Hey Jen! Loved the video, but one tip, there’s this nail gun thing that makes it so much easier and faster to put the nails into the wall, my dad did the same thing you did for the statement walls, and it took him at least ten minutes to get one of the boxes done!
Okay listen up. Could you make the storage space a powder room/second bathroom of sorts? It would be super helpful for when you have guests over.

I'm definitely not scared of color. My walls would be colors like turquoise, neon green and bright orange lol!
Something I think you maybe should have had in mind before choosing the paint colour is the fact is the grey carpet that can reflect a cooler tone, so maybe you should have removed the carpet before or put the paint samples next to the wood you chose. I understand it's better to paint before doing the floor so you don't have to be super careful about ruining it.
I'm not an expert, just giving some advice that might be careful. I'm looking forward the next renovation videos. Greetings from Spain 🇪🇦

yes!! always consider how easy it will be to clean the floors, tiles, cabinets, etc to help choose what u want. (:
PAINTING TIP: you can use a wooden broom stick and attach it to the paint roller thingy and it would be much much more accessible to paint

There’s something called a miter shear, that makes cutting molding like that super easy, u can get on Amazon.

Make sure your contractor doesn't spray paint over the sprinkler sensors! The previous owners in my condo did that and it cost $$$$ for us to get it fixed after the fact.
