I believe his way of language is one of the critical factors why he manages to resonate with his base; it's dumbed down to the levels they understand.

This is exactly what is going on when he speaks to his level of the people who voted him in office. They are basically uneducated, sometimes slow learners. Those who needed much help in school with English and literature. Help in getting passing grades to get to the next grade level. In other words they are mostly dumbasses

The only people I know who speak with their hands is those who do not know the English language well enough (so foreigners) I knew that was the optimal way of communicating when I was not sure of the foreign language word. Pencil and paper(or stick and dirt) and I could draw it would be even better. Other than that, none of my friends ever did that except maybe to show how big a "box" they needed and in what shape; so visually is easier than saying actual measurements "or how big the fish was that got away".

Trump reminds me very much of many of the later Roman emperors (Nero and Caligula to name but two). The only difference is that even the president of the United States doesn't have their absolute uncontested power - which is a great relief because, like them, he is indeed capable of doing anything. He's just pardoned at least 26 of his cronies - including the father of his son in law - who were jailed for corruption and other crimes. Even with Christmas and New Year breaking up the run of his last few weeks I wouldn't put it past him to continue to vent his anger against the world by stirring up a few more metaphorical hornets just so Joe Biden will have to spend his first few months trying to clear up the mess.

it's called NLP, he is a master at using NLP to market himself. talking like an adolescence is charming, sounding like an academic is not very charismatic. if you consider that most Americans are not well educated, he speaks directly to them on their level. As a blind person I've most noticed his manner of attempting a condescending tone and cadence. As if speaking at an impertinent child. To this person, who cannot see his posture or facial expressions, I'd say he's not so convinced of himself.
